I like him, it must be hard to have to be cheerful all the time.
He said hello to me on Emirates Skyline at the starts at York last meeting and was asking me about what the York Eye was, then he went and won. Me and my friend had to sit down, yes we have met plenty of jockeys before, are mates with a few and gone out with one or two but we were seriously starstruck.

I think CS is a very exuberant person aswell, its great to see people so elated. If I won the derby id be bouncing off the walls for days too ;)

(i love weighing room footage – theres always some good nude shots to be seen if you look hard enough – ok…’look hard enough’….that didnt come out quite right!!!

i think some people might be getting confused with the old-fashioned procedure of putting a tube into the horses tomach and ‘washing out’ with bicarbonate of soda to make the horse, ahem, get the squits to cure things like mercury poisoning.

You wouldn’t want Wayne Rooney riding in the Derby would you?

maybe not but it would be quite amusing!

i think fallon is great, he is blatantly a good jockey (or he simply wouldnt win/get good horses), im not going to go as far as saying he’s a ledgend or anything but if he does race again in this country, do you think he will be more or less popular now? a bit of a scandal can do wonders for some people and destroy others (speaking of destroying, what happened to the jockey who headbutted a horse on the BBC?)

sounds abit too long to be a showjumping whip.

i think christophe soumillons a good jockey but every now and then he does ride quite badly…his pairing with Ouija Board last year springs to mind.
Eddie Ahern, Frankie (just cos he’s a ledgend) and kieran fallon.

just get someone young and pretty to go ask a jockey what he does with his whips after races, youd be surprised how many go ‘here you go love’, works with goggles too….

ETA – ah, see you have one now, that’ll teach me to post before ive read all the topic!

Fingers crossed for easterby that he’s his next bollin eric.
Wasnt Anna Pavolva only favorite cos frankie was on her? if paul hanagan had been on her i doubt she’d have gone off on those odds.

itd be nice if he did retire after a derby win, id rather see a ledgend go out in a blaze of glory then fade into obscurity.
He’s got talent but Gs recent bad run must be getting him down.
