Well, if we’re going to be pedantic then as long as there are are ten or more English jockeys then there are at least "Top Ten English Jockeys" no matter who they are and no matter how good they are.

Top is a relative term and not an absolute term such as great.

    Get yer bail money ready.

This thread proves that the top notch jocks are mostly Irish and most of them have been riding in pony races since they were no age and there is also alot of family heritage and history links.

Debatable from where I’m sitting. But that’s an issue way beyond the scope of horse racing. ;)

How about my all time favourite Jockey, the late Brian Taylor?

And George Duffield and Eddie Hide? :)

Not debatable in the slightest for me!!!!!!!!

Btw a know it all mate of mine has told me he thinks Munro is English, I’m still not so sure.

As for Barry Fenton….please!!!!!  Did it say "Top [bent] Jockeys" in the title???  Besides, is he even English?  I always thought he was Irish but I may be wrong…

Why the hell do you think Munro is Australian? Have you fallen on your head again, dear? Fenton is naturally Irish. Richard Dunwoody is also half English.
