I wonder will Kieren ride Seville in the Dante?
Thats an interesting thought Andy bearing in mind
Seville
has ran 3 times and had 3 different Jockeys on him to date,i have got it in my head Seamie Heffernen will ride him.It certainly seemed to me that Fallon being on Recital yesterday was all part of the horses education and Kieren is a master of that,i can certainly see him keeping the mount in The Derby itself.

Number 4, Drawn 8 the horse in yellow with blue stars,

Never at the races that one, hard held for 6 of the 8 furlongs then very tenderly asked to make further progress all too late, defineately worthy of a question or 2 from the stewards imo.
Memory has been the subject of some very good reports from Richard Hughes and Richard Hannon lately. At 11/2 she represents decent each value for tomorrow’s 1000 Guineas. She looked like a very classy filly last year, before a below par performance behind Misty For Me. I know The Ante Post King was always a big fan of her, and he is a shrewd judge of a horse.
€20 e/w @ 11/2
– €20
Only just noticed this,i do apologise! Keep the faith though Tommy
Hughsie reckons they have ironed out her ‘Sariska’?? I do hope so.Glad the Derrinstowns out of the way as i always rate the race as a Derby trial but if Recital wins this years race i’ll give in.The Dante is the key to this years Derby and i am confident
Seville
will show just what a colt he is,mind you a 11/2m is still the trip that will show his true potential,Carlton House is a 11/4m horse and World Domination is no Lammtarra, simple as that.
Seville
£300 win 10/30 Paddy Power, Dante.
£325
Derby winners dont hold their head like that i’m afraid! Phew!
In pedigree terms, going on what similarly bred types have done, I’d far rather be on Recital than Seville for the Derby and any other 12f Group 1 this season.
Interesting Zarkava, personally i would favour the
Seville
bloodline anyday over Recitals for both the Derby and St Leger, however like the OP of this thread suggests
Nathaniel
would be my number 1 selection, particularly after his Chester effort this week had St Leger written all over it.
That was a typical O’Brien pipeopener for
Recital
last time out and i would be most surprised if he doesn’t win today,i hope non too impressively though as all my Oranges/eggs are in the
Seville
basket.
Excellent work Tommy from start to finish you kept focused and disciplined, very few make money at this game consistently, your thread proves you know your stuff, well done. Its back to studying for me i’m afraid….Now this
Seville
for the Derby!

The horse i am most looking forward to seeing today is
Victoire de Lyphar
,he was a big beast last year but is even bigger this year now he is 4yo.He is fit enough for today and en-route to running in Group races should win this 4.10 at Haydock.I have to stay loyal to him.
£200 win
Victoire de Lyphar
5/2 Corals.
£625A fascinating listed race opens the card at Haydock today and Dandy runs two,i am well aware
Redford
could win this on the bridle,i am also well aware he has bigger fish to fry this season and Dandy being Dandy knows this is a fine opportunity for
Lovelace
to repeat last years victory and at 4 times the price of the favourite i shall have an interest at 8/1 e/w.
£100 e/w
Lovelace
8/1 Bet365 2 places.
£825The Victoria Cup has always been a target race for me and this years is no different,i know Hayley has a soft spot for
Horseradish
but she reckons he doesn’t want it too firm so unless Ascot gets any rain i will leave him for now.My idea of the winner is a horse who has won over C/D twice and is only a 1lb higher for doing so,he has to have things his own way but with Lee Topliss taking a further 5lb off his back i can see
Castles in the Air
running a big race,i have spread my bets for obvious reasons.
Castles in the Air
£100 e/w 20/1 Stan James,
£50 e/w 18/1 Bet365.
£50 e/w 16/1 Tote.
£1025Perfection Kingfisher……..

A long way off but what’s your opinion if Frankel bumps into Canford Cliffs over a mile?
Personally I think Richard Hughes got Dubawi Gold plenty close enough and as Richard Hannon has already said Canford Cliffs is a different kettle of
fish
.
You have always been too kind Nath,Cheers.
Bearing in mind i am a bigDick Turpin
fan i will give you my unbiased opinion. The Sussex stakes at Goodwood will see the clash of the giants,a course that suits
Canford Cliffs
,a course that wont suit the uncontrollable Frankelstein,he will be free wheelin down the hill at such a rate his wheels could come off,
I dont like the 8lb pull 3yo’s get either,i believe it should be 5lb for that time of year so that equals things up a bit,Canford Cliffs always looked like he would strengthen up over the winter so with natural improvement from 3-4yo i can see him running to a mark of 132 this year, however if both horses turned up at the top of their game i reckon there’s only a length between them. For racings sake i hope it happens. If Canford cant beat Dubawi Gold a very short looking 6 lengths at home i would be amazed,of course this is just the opinion of someone who layed Frankel in the guineas.
Tranquil Sea still has questions to answer regarding the trip and has shown all his best form on a softer surface.
I wouldn’t dissagree with that Bos but funnily enough the only time
Tranquil Sea
has attempted this trip was in last years race and he really caught my eye under Nina Carberry,i think at 14/1 he could easily run a place now his regular pilot is back on board, any cut in the ground will help and i can see him giving his supporters a big run for their money.
€20 win Big Zeb
€20 win Quito De La Roque
€10 win dblWell done Tommy!

And where did you get this 9 second furlong rubbish from? That is not possible!
If only Aidan allowed
Rip Van Winkle
to show it in a July Cup! Me having backed him at 10/1 to do so.Shattered1 i love your support of
So you Think
but we cant gauge anything from that non event at the Curragh the other day other than he looked like there was still plenty to work on and you can bet your bottom dollar Aidan will have him cherry ripe for whatever target he chooses,he did much the same with
Starspangledbanner
last year.If he does prove to be a Group 1 winner here i will be the first to say i was wrong, not for the first time either.

I do not know what authority you have Kingfisher for the proposition that STY does not like fast ground. His only run on soft he lost and otherwise his runs have been on good to soft or good ground.
Nothing in that to suggest this fellow will not like a rattle in the ground, and in any event he hacked up on top of the ground at the weekend.
I am all for arbitrary opinions but they will not cut up in a debate if you fail to back them up with evidence
Just my opinion Admiral but i got the impression the ground wasn’t as firm as the official going suggested yesterday but what concerns me more about your superstar is the fact that the time of the race was the 2nd slowest of the day and that the winner of the last race
Casbah Rock
rated a mere 65 would have won the Moorebridge too beating 100 rated animals.I cant see one piece of his form that will get him near the likes of
Workforce
,worlds apart in fact.I look forward to seeing him quicken off a European Group 1 pace.
May 3, 2011 at 16:02 in reply to: Frankel – that 142 rating, what do you think handicappers? #353535I never really had a problem with Timeform rating
Harbingers
King George run at 142 as the clock confirmed it was sensational, his previous run in the Hardwicke on faster ground was impressive but to do what he did in a canter last July in 2m 26.78 secs a course record that will stand for a very long time was the performance of the year. To rate the 3yo Frankel the same and thats allowing for a headwind somewhat surprises me,i wonder what happens when the non Group 1 winner Dubawi Gold gets beaten fair and square in the Irish 2000gns,ah yes he goes back to 136.
