2 weeks ago got £300 on him at 7/1 for the King George. He is going to destroy that field come July and you’ll see him winning on the absolute snaff!
Good luck with that JJM,as much as i’m adamant
Workforce
is a better horse with cut, even though he can win a Derby on fast ground,i got the impression
So you think
will defineately not want to hear his feet rattle and King Georges are rarely run on less than good fast summer ground these days,i find it amazing these supporters of the Aussie horse can even compare the pairs form but thats racing i suppose.
Remember this fellow won over 7f as well, and I am absolutely certain Workforce could never do that!
I hate to be a party poop, but he did,
Workforce
has plenty of speed,he could win over 11/4m now but i want to see these 2 race over the trip of true Champions in a race for such,The Arc.I love the support this Aussie imports getting, makes for exciting times.
Seriously SYT donkey licked them in 2 group 1 Cox Plates, which is a class race anywhere and you choose The 2 mile Melbourne Cup to judge him on: Pure Genius!
Shattered1,i am trying to gauge where we may see these 2 Champions meet over a trip that will suit both,i use the Melbourne Cup as i believe he failed to get the 2 miles,i do recognise that
So You Think
has won the 11/4m Cox Plate twice beating the ‘veteran’ Zipping on both ocassions, who incidentally wouldn’t get
Workforce
off the bridle either,so i personally hope they meet over 11/2m,first in the King George and then a rematch in the Arc,lets look forward to it!
Workforce
is likely to have limited opportunities at stud.
The elusive Derby winner, every Breeders dream.I would imagine breeders would be satisfied with sending their best mares to
Workforce
knowing that he should pass on the requisite Stamina required to at least deserve a Derby entry at the yearling stage Pinza,i doubt very much he will have limited opportunities at stud if he gets beat over 11/4m. I am not convinced he will run in the Eclipse anyway,i think he does need time between his races and he needs to redeem himself in the King George.Good to see the Aussie support for their champ on here too, unfortunately their Ante-Post vouchers for the King George and Arc will turn to ashes.

Pinza, Sir Michael has nothing to achieve by running
Workforce
over 11/4m,his main targets this year should be the King George and Arc,dual Arc winners are few and far between almost as rare as keeping Derby/Arc winners in training as 4yo’s.One of the main reasons connections have done just that is the fact this fellow has so much scope for improvement it would be a travesty to have retired him at three.
So you Think
has reached his pinnacle for improving as a 5yo and even though he hasn’t actually ran over 11/2m,it would seem his ideal trip too,his 3rd place in the Melbourne Cup confirms that, but finishing only a couple of lengths in front of the ‘average’ Holberg makes me think Workforce will eat him for breakfast and lunch,Sir Michael will tuck into his tomorrow morning without any fear of indigestion.
Temperament has cost me about a grand in this years 2 Guineas,
Frankel
got his own way and made all and made me look the Monkey he cost me in laying him at 11/10 and 1/2.
Memory
got her own way too and its one that will live with me for sometime costing me another Monkey and again my nuts got shelled.Thankfully my confidence is King and i will
Overturn
this setback in the Chester Cup,Bet365 have taken my £200 e/w bet at 13/2 to 4 places NRNB,this fellow did me a good turn in last years Pitmens Derby from a poor draw, his 6lb rise is insignificant as Overturn coming from box 1 will feel as though he’s been let loose with 8-13 on his back, his Scottish Champion hurdle run with 11-10 was enough to suggest he should be able to control the pace from the front around this tricky course.
£200 e/w
Overturn
13/2 Bet365 nrnb.
£1425
I suspect So You Think will have Workforce on toast any place, any time. He looks bombproof, and a much more solid proposition tactically than the younger horse.
So YOU Think
he’s better than
Workforce
eh Pinza? They will meet over 11/2m at some point and i for one would bet good money the 4yo will eat him for breakfast,he’s a different horse again from last year.

Tuffers the clock never lies,Frankel could run that race another 10 times and still not clock 1m 35secs like Zafonic. Todays ground was officially Good/firm but arguably over watered and was riding on the good side which was exactly what the French colt encountered back in 93,both colts powered down the centre of the track but the difference was Frankel won his race at the start and would have had a 10 length lead over Zafonic at halfway but the french colt had a lightening turn of foot and would have swept past Frankel inside the last furlong leaving him one paced.Frankel couldn’t have gone any faster at any point of todays race and certainly wouldn’t have found anything had there been anything good enough to challenge him.
None too shabby for a horse that wouldn’t train on, don’t you think?

None too Shabby at all reet,i was certainly wrong about him winning the 2000gns,we’ll see how wrong i am again about him winning The Derby.I would love to see him attempt to make all around Epsoms 11/2m and that would appear now that he has to run that way as he wont settle, still a strange character imo and time will prove he is not a Champion.Top class miler, obviously.
Tuffers, its common knowledge that when the Rowley Mile is officially good/firm a Group 1 horse will clock 1m 35secs,Frankel ran his heart out to clock 1m 37.30secs,all those getting carried away by how visually impressive he looked should realise that his brilliance was helped by the lack of brilliance from his competitors, his jockey rode an enterprising race and won it with just that.Had Frankel clocked 1m 34secs and at several points during the race he had me wondering if that is what he was going to do,then i would be hailing him as Pegasus.Ultimately the clock proved it was more impressive to the eye than it actually was in reality and that some of the beaten horses seriously under achieved.Time will tell.

It was the most incredible performance I’ve ever seen in a British classic. I thought Zafonic was immense back in 1993, but that was something else.
It was visually impressive Bos yes but to clock 1m 37 tells you Zafonic would have beaten him by 2 lengths and it is blatantly obvious from today that the horse cant be restrained and has to be left to his own devices and thats just go like the clappers, todays performance proved without any doubt that this fellow wont get a 11/2m in a bus running like that.Dubawi Gold will be beaten by others by 6 lengths this season and Native Khan would beat Frankel over 11/4m so lets not get carried away.

3, Ante-Post betting.Gamble said the men with swords,
for they have the cutting edge,
words of wisdom
none finer,
from the
3rd Musketeer.Agreed David,a top class field on paper at the moment but what would you have your money on now at the above prices? Personally i would wait for the King George with both Workforce and Cape Blanco who i believe both want a 11/2m to show their best,i’m not convinced either Dick Turpin or Canford Cliffs are 11/4m horses so i would have my money e/w on a 25/1 outsider in
Ransom Note
,i’m expecting big things from him this year and believe the trip could be his optimum as a 4yo.
Towcester will be the laughing stock of the racing industry, all this nonsense will do is encourage Non trying even more and how do you police a whipless race,’It was blatantly obvious the runner-up was given a tender ride as the jockey only shook the reins three times in the last 50yds,whereas the winner had his shook at least a dozen’ ‘My mount wouldn’t run on up the Towcester hill as i couldn’t get at him without a whip, cost me the race it did’ Excuses galore and all will have to be accepted by the BHA for allowing this most ridiculous idea to go ahead. There will be more accidents too,a whip has an obvious effect when correcting a hanging horse,a good jockey knows a whip is an absolutely crucial part of his kit and its far safer to have one than not imo. My one and only criticism of the whip is when you see an angry jockey leathering a beaten horse, absolutely no need for it.
Kingfisher –

Moe,i too have fond memories of
Dessie
,he had a great influence on my betting strategy at the time as he was the first horse i had a £6 win bet on back in January 84,when he beat Johnny Francome on the highly regarded ‘Ihaventalight’.I had seen him several times before and always felt he was a horse who tried his heart out, prior to his Sandown victory above he had won at Kempton only a week or so earlier making his customary catch me if you can tactics,i vividly remember being very nervous prior to the race i had my whole £6 on as it was a big bet for me then but after a couple of flights i thought they wont catch him,he duly obliged at the short odds of 5/6 but i was hooked and followed him religiously from then on.His First King George will always be the highlight of his career for me at the incredible price of 16/1.
