Didn’t do too badly last season so we’ll have another go. This year I’m going to concentrate on lower prices to reduce the propensity for unpopular longer losing run sequences.
No selections Wednesday 30th.

April 1, 2011 at 03:30 #348195Your not going to be using bookmaker SP again this year, cormack?
April 1, 2011 at 22:21 #348338Nothing for Saturday.
Thought it best way to report results with transparency Cav. Worst case scenario and all that.
April 2, 2011 at 10:05 #348363At least use BFSP. Your ripping yourself off.
April 4, 2011 at 15:08 #348616Tell you what Cav – I’ll do both.

The Dangerous Dave seal of approval seems to be a poisoned chalice at the minute. Don’t worry folks, stick with it, early days. *crosses fingers, genuflects and bows in generally eastern direction*April 23, 2011 at 21:02 #351859Sunday –

Was there today and this ran poorly. Dwelt, took strong hold and capitulated. Bit to do on this fellow before he wins but Willie Haggas is just the man so I wouldn’t write him off, but you’d have him on a watching brief for nowApril 23, 2011 at 21:49 #351869Saturday 23rd

David you obviously want to be taken seriously as a bit of a tipster as trying to run a profitable tipping thread is the quickest way to lose any credibility you may have earned when you post consistent losers. What was it that made you fancy
Winniepeg
in the 5.30 at Nottingham?
this 3yo had only ever ran 3 times in its life and all 3 races were on Kemptons all weather surface and rated 62 kind of tells you its going to be average at best, its always nice to know the thinking behind a tipsters selection too.April 24, 2011 at 22:55 #352025Kingfisher –
This is just a bit of fun really, more to keep me focused on actually doing some work on my selections/data. I do a lot of work on systems and trends, etc. These selections are just some that come out of some of the various bits and bobs i do. Not rigourous enough to go on a ‘Systems’ thread but generally from patterns that have high success rate in the past.
I’m pretty confident we’ll get back on track, losing runs are inevitable no matter who the tipster is, and they are just as likely at the start as they are in the middle or end. The fact that we’r eone from seven is of no consequence to me at this stage. I’ll start judging the result after ca. 100 selections or so (i expect about 200-300 selections at a guess by Nov).
You should have seen the bad start I made last year – we got it all back before slipping away a little at the end of the year. I’ve tightened up the selection process a bit this time around so I’m hoping that we’ll be in front by the end of the turf flat season.
Or thereabouts.
As for Winniepeg, average horses win races every day of the week. Started 11/2 so was hardly unfancied. Clive Cox has a good record at Nottingham with his handicappers and I actually liked the fact that it had been given a ‘low-key’ start in life – it didn’t look like the toughest race.
Keep the faith Kingfisher. And someone else used to chastise me for picking ‘average’ horses, funnily enough he had a ‘king’ in his moniker too!
