The Flat season starts again today and there’s a nice betting opportunity in the last at the Curragh.
I’ve heard good things about Jim Bolger’s filly Claoimh Solais. She’s bred in the blue and as long as she handles underfoot conditions she’ll take beating.
€20 win @ 2/1
– €20
March 20, 2011 at 16:17 #346392Well backed…Bolger already had a winner. Looks between himself and AOB.
Good Luck
April 23, 2011 at 11:52 #351787€55 win Dick Turpin @ 8/11 3.45 Sandown, best odds guaranteed. Reasons given in the Big Races section.
– €75
April 23, 2011 at 16:35 #351822Comfortable win for Dick Turpin, returns €95
+ €20
April 30, 2011 at 15:26 #352872Memory has been the subject of some very good reports from Richard Hughes and Richard Hannon lately. At 11/2 she represents decent each value for tomorrow’s 1000 Guineas. She looked like a very classy filly last year, before a below par performance behind Misty For Me. I know The Ante Post King was always a big fan of her, and he is a shrewd judge of a horse.
€20 e/w @ 11/2
– €20

May 16, 2011 at 09:33 #355647I know this isn’t on the flat but I’ll throw it in here anyway. Divine Rhapsody ran a very eye-catching race in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham, for which he was subject to a massive gamble (I was on at 20s
). He showed a lot of promise when storming up the hill, making serious late ground. That was only his second start and it’s likely he found the hustle and bustle too much, he should find the maiden hurdle at Killarney today much easier going, and should be supported.May 17, 2011 at 15:36 #355834Another jumper worth backing today is Mossey Joe. He has won over point to point fences and one would like to think he’ll be better over fences than hurdles, where he showed plenty of promise. He ran a cracker at Punchestown despite reportedly needing the run. He’ll be very hard to beat.
€55 win Mossey Joe @ 10/11
– €115
May 17, 2011 at 19:16 #355867Facile win for Mossey Joe there, could be one going places.
Returns €105
– €10
May 20, 2011 at 17:32 #356255I’ve heard good things about Brave Gloria in the first bumper at Wexford, with Mikey Fogarty up. Supposedly a more talented animal than Sallyanka who is 15/8 favorite for the last, but the market doesn’t seem to agree. Anyway, worth a punt at the price with a dangerous trainer/jockey combination.
€10 e/w Brave Gloria @ 10/1
– €30
May 21, 2011 at 12:50 #356431€5 e/w double Roderic O’Connor and Aznavour
– €40
May 21, 2011 at 14:36 #35644410/3 and 9/2 respectively btw
May 21, 2011 at 20:59 #356526Really fancy Moriarty to beat the home brigade in the Gallinule Stakes at the Curragh tomorrow. The vibes about this horse have been very good, andthe extra furlong tomorrow should suit him down to the ground. I don’t think the home team is that strong personally.
€20 e/w Moriarty @ 9/2
– €80
May 22, 2011 at 12:55 #356614The Pricewise selection Misty For Me was the most fancied runner of the O’Brien stable at Newmarket, but ran a stinker. O’Brien seems to think she’s come on an awful lot for that run, and she arguably boasts the best juvenile form and could stretch these if she kicks for home on the turn in, using her stamina. Possible Guineas double for the family?
Irish 1000 Guineas, Misty For Me €10 e/w @ 9/1
So You Think takes to the stage today at the Curragh. Famous name leads the oppostion but, talented horse though he is, the ground will be against him and I will be disappointed if So You Think doesn’t beat him. However, at 1/5 I’m not getting involved, but an impressive win here could see him trimmed a little for the Arc

Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, So You Think €10 win @ 5/1
– €110
