    I wrote on the Prix De L’Opera thread that I had fears Banimpire would be in season once again, but I’ve been assured she is not, and that she is in better form than she has been all season. For my money she’s the best 3yo filly over a mile and a half in Britain and Ireland this season. 10f should be no problem for her and she handles any ground. There are no flaws in her armor: she has speed, stays, travels well, and is made of steel.

    Haven’t collected Banimpire bet yet so not sure what I’ll get back on the PMU.

    Today I’ve backed Sentry Duty in the Cesarewitch. I always seem to catch this horse on a going day ie. when fresh! He gave me my biggest ever win at the time when winning a handicap hurdle @ 25/1 (backed into 12/1 if memory serves me well). He was unlucky last year and the fact that Gord has also backed him gives me added confidence.

    This will be probably be my final bet of the Flat season: Hidden Universe in the November Handicap. He’s got what I feel is a very low mark given the class he has. Soft ground over two miles should be perfect. I can see him really running these ragged like stable companion Rite Of Passage did a couple of years ago.

    Collected €27 odd on Banimpire, can’t remember the exact cent! :roll:

    Hidden Universe I thought was beaten turning in as I didn’t expect him to battle as well as he did. Pat Smullen gave him a great ride and he should pick up decent money over sticks this winter. Returnd €90.

    Could never really get going this summer, and it was the jumpers that kept me going (Truckers Delight, Hidden Universe etc.).

    I’ll certainly have to review my punting on the flat next year. I definitely don’t have as much time over the summer to watch racing, so perhaps I’m struggling to read the form.

    Anyway, at least I got out of the red with my last bet, and now have the enviable problem of deciding what to spend my €5 on. :mrgreen:
