I regard Listowel as the start of the NH season proper, so decided to start a thread here for details of bets made. I’ve already placed 3 bets at Listowel, 3 winning ones as it happens
, so I’m going to transfer those from my notebook to here, and deduct the profit from the notebook. The reason for this is so I will have all my National Hunt season bets in the one thread. The Shepherd King €10 win @ 3/1; €5 e/w @ 3/1… + €48
Salute Him €10 win @ 7/4… + €17.50
Don’t Tell The Boys €5 e/w @ 10/1… dead heated so + €32.50A good way to start the jumps season

+ €98
September 13, 2010 at 22:05 #317429Well done, THM.
September 14, 2010 at 13:09 #317497Gimli’s Rock is a tough, reliable sort who should once again give a good account of himself today at Listowel. He has to give Doctor Deejay a stone, and considering he only beat that rival by 4 lengths at Punchestown in April you would think Doctor Deejay should reverse the placings. However, Gimli’s Rock is one tough cookie who prpbably had more up his sleave than the wining margin, and Doctor Deejay doesn’t find much off the bridle, so I’m gonna wager Gimli’s Rock can beat him again en route to victory. €5 e/w @ 13/2
+ €88
September 14, 2010 at 21:58 #317552Gimli’s Rock PU, Clearly something amiss. Most if not all of my early profit will go on The Real Article tomorrow.
September 15, 2010 at 08:12 #317588€10 win The Real Article Supreme Novice Hurdle @ 25/1.
I’m going away for the day now so won’t be able to post the prices of the todays bets later. However, I will be having €5 e/w on Ponmeoath, €5 e/w on Mikey Fogarty’s in the bumper (the name escapes me at the moment). Will more than likely have €80 on The Real Article today.
– €22

I hope you did!!!! He looked well named today
September 15, 2010 at 20:49 #317709€5 e/w on Ponmeoath, got 8/1, only 8th
€80 win The Real Article, got 11/8, SP 2/1
, 1st
€5 e/w Massinimoss, got 15/2, 3rd+ €240
+ €12.50+ €230.50
A fabulous start to the jumps, the tough part will be to keep it going! Brilliant to see the horse that I think could be an absolute aeroplane justified my faith today. God I adore this horse!
September 15, 2010 at 21:47 #317719One horse that’s a possibility for a sneaky fiver each way is Graiguecullen, supposedly working nicely and will hopefully be a double figure price. Mikey’s having a right good run at the moment too.
September 16, 2010 at 09:56 #3177725ew Graiguecullen Listowel 18.00
September 17, 2010 at 10:37 #31793720win on Loosen My Load 16.35 Listowel.
September 17, 2010 at 17:54 #317969Haven’t been around the last couple of days so I’ve been getting a fairly sound reliable friend top post my bets up

Wouldn’t have backed Graiguecullen if there were only seven runners but alas the bet was put on before the withdrawal. Down to + €220.50 after his 3rd.
€14 profit off smart novice Loosen My Load after the Rule 4 today, so back up to
+ €234.50.
September 20, 2010 at 15:02 #318439I’ve played the Prodigal Son, THM – alas, for various reasons, without the womanising – missed your bets and paid the price.
Now, after reading of your further winners, I’m back in the fold, on the lookout for your ‘osses.
September 20, 2010 at 20:33 #318515The pressure is on me to come up with the goods then Grimes!

As you can see in my thread in the notebook section it’s not all winners from me! I would know a bit more about the NH side of things though (I think
)September 20, 2010 at 23:00 #318535Yes, I know all too well about losing runs – very long ones. I understand no one is immune. Good luck!
September 25, 2010 at 09:58 #319197I’ve had a €5 trixie on First Lieutenant, Auracria and Sivota at Navan, think there’s a good chance all three will win but more than likely won’t happen!
– €20+ €214.50

I’ve been toying with three horses today but I’ve noticed that when we agree on a selection the strike rate is very good so I’ll be going for the first two of your trixie, my third one is Rip Van Winkle on the flat, Pointillise is my likely "fly in the ointment"
Finger crossedSeptember 25, 2010 at 13:24 #319233The ground must be a slight concern for Drumfire, although I can see why he’s being backed. His debut hurdle run was very solid and the form of Mouse Morris’s stable is poor. However, First Lieutenant is overpriced at 3/1 imo, €10 win
+ €204.50
