Cheltenham book now looks like this:

    SUPREME NOVICES
€10 win The Real Article @ 25/1 (NR) ~ I knew he may not end up here but the horse owes me nothing.

€5 win Zaidpour @ 33/1 (Generally 8/1 now) ~ I think Cue Card’s worth taking on, hopefully this lad is the one to be on, very happy with the price.

    SPINAL RESEARCH HANDICAP CHASE
    €5 e/w The Tother One @ 25/1 (NR)

    NEPTUNE NOVICES HURDLE
€10 e/w So Young @ 6/1 NRNB (7/2 now) ~ Also very happy with this, although I’ve heard the Supreme may be under consideration again, but I have NRNB anyway)

    RSA CHASE
    €10 e/w Tell Massini @ 14/1 :(
€10 e/w Jessies Dream @ 16/1 (8/1 now) ~ Really happy with this bet, think he has a cracking e/w chance at the very least.

    QM CHAMPION CHASE
€10 win Captain Cee Bee @ 14/1 (10/1 now) ~ I think Big Zeb is by far the most likely winner but Cee Bee is capable of a big run.

    ALBERT BARTLETT
€10 e/w Gagewell Flyer @ 25/1 NRNB (14/1 now) ~ Lot of money for this today, good to see. I think 25/1 was way too big and he could even go off soigle figures!)

    GOLD CUP
    €5 win Pandorama @ 16/1 (now 14/1) ~ I think he has a massive chance.
€5 win Wierd Al @ 25/1 (now 33/1) ~ Had given up on this one so I’m happy he’s running anyway, giving me a run for my money.

Overall I must say I’m happy with my ante post bets, and also have a bet on Peddlers Cross placed last April to look forward to :)

I had other bets on at Cheltenham but wasn’t around to post them,if anyone would like me to post them no problem, but one always lives in fear of being labelled "after-timer"!!

Tomorrow’s action at Limerick and the Curragh is top class, with some really exciting young horses on show.

The clash of The Real Article and Last Instalment is particularly mouthwatering, where the bubble of one of them will surely be burst. I love The Real Article but since Last Instalment’s point to point the word was he’s a fair tool.

Quito De La Roque is taken to win the Grade 2 Novice Chase. He’s tough as nails and anything that beats him will know they’ve had a race. Davy Russell is not available to ride due to injury but Puppy Power is a more than able substitute and hopefully he’ll steer him home in front.

The bumper looks to be between Waaheb and Cash And Go on paper. Cash And Go was very impressive on his debut, but he’ll have to be as good as he looked that day to beat Waaheb. I was told a few months ago that Waaheb won’t go to Cheltenham but he’ll win the Punchestown Champion Bumper. If he’s as good as they think Cash And Go will have it all to do. An extremely interesting race.

I’ll be keeping an eye on Whats Up Gorden in the lucky last. He was unlucky when unseating his rider at Listowel last year, while he pulled up last time put hen co-fav. He could well be a nice each way price and I’m expecting a decent run.

At the Curragh we have the likes of St Nicholas Abbey, Glór Na Mara, Regal Parade and Lolly For Dolly on show. However, I’m a NH man at heart so the bumper there interests me the most. There’s every chance it’s as good as the one in Limerick, and it’s far more competitive: Samain, Dylan Ross, Mart Lane, Double Double and Whatwillwecallher take part.

Double Double has any amount of talent but his rider’s deficiencies in the saddle were all to evident at Cheltenham and there must be a chance he’ll be out ridden again here. Samain has a big reputation and was impressive last time out beating the useful Letter Of Credit. That form sets the standard. Whatwillwecallher can’t be faulted, having won her last two bumpers by a combined 33 lengths. There have to be question marks about the value of the form but she couldn’t do any more. Mart Lane is another with a big reputation and has to be respected.

As with most bumpers, selecting a horse involves quite a bit of guesswork. For that reason, it might be worth backing the value here, which may well be Dylan Ross. Having ran a cracker in the Land Rover Bumper behind Divine Rhapsody, he then won two bumpers with the minimum of fuss. Last time out he fell at the last when looking in control of a maiden hurdle. Depending on the price, he might be the one to have the fiver each way on.
