Epatante @ 25/1 for this. Henderson says he’s hoping she will show just how good she is this season, means he rates her highly.
MsManus always likes one in this and she’s the type to appeal. Should get weight off a few in this.

Mortal @ 50/1 appeals at this stage. Has decent novice form and JOB says we didn’t see the best of him last season. Improvement expected, should be nicely weighted, being aimed at the top staying handicaps, hopefully this will be the first..
If he does turn up I’d be very interested, so just a few quid ante post right now.

VTC, any chance of changing the format slightly? Say, making it the 20 to follow? 15 even? Whittling it down to 10 seems impossible this season!!
Good man for running it again, adds to what is already looking like a stellar season!
    Cheers

Can anyone tell me where they saw the Henderson stable tour saying Santini wouldn’t run in this? And did he mention where Mr Whipped would be returning?
If Santini isn’t going then I’d be looking at Mr Whipped at nice prices. He should be getting lumps of weight off Lostintranslation and Topofthegame and it wasn’t a disastrous run at Aintree behind those two off levels.Think he still has potential over fences and he beat Paisley Park over hurdles earlier on in his career.
If I had an inclination this is where he’s headed I’ll be getting on now at 33’s…

Seeing as my theory that Don Poli was a plot horse (you don’t put a plot horse up for sale a week before the race), I’ve backed another Giggs horse as well. Valseur Lido at 100/1 appeals greatly in a race where nothing stands out. Last year off 11’7, he travelled sweetly until stamina gave out from two out. That was on heavy ground, so there are reasons to be optimistic he can get home this time. The better ground will definitely help in that regard, as will the huge turnaround in weight. From the foot of the handicap this time as opposed to the head of the handicap, can easily see him improving on his 8th place last year. 17lb better off with the 4/1 favourite, previous experience of the race, stable going well, and a jockey on the crest of a wave, 100/1 seems a great value e/w bet. Can Rachel Blackmore become the first female jockey to win the national? Wouldn’t surprise me the season she’s had.

Would either still be likely to run? And if they did byy them who would be their primary trainer?

The monopoly is already in full swing I’m afraid Peter. JP and Giggs probably own 3/5’s of all jump horses in Ireland, and probably 95% of the better class horses..JP is doing his best to keep up, he used to have 6 or 7 in the race. Next year it wouldn’t surprise me if Giggs have almost half the field and JP at least 5 of the rest.

I can see Gigginstown dominating this race for years to come. The amount
of quality animals they have and will continue to do so means each they will have almost a third of the field,if not half in a couple of years. Mostly Elliott with a sprinkling of a couple of other trainers. They have complained about weights their horses have been given in the past, but soon if not already, they will control the weights for the majority of their horses in the race. The trick will be sussing out the plot horses. If Tiger Roll wins I will pay as much respect as the next man, but in my opinion, at the price, and the way he’s sold as the darling of jump racing, he’s every bookies dream. Two years ago Don Poli was favourite for this race before the weights were framed. Giggs pulled him out. He was off for 2 years for some heat in his leg…..hmmmm….I’m taking the chance at 80/1 as at the time, Elliott said this race was tailor made for him. He’s shown nothing this season, but so what? Rule The World was a maiden over fences! It’s the national, a lottery to a degree. You’d be a madman to be backing Red Rum off 10st at 3/1, let alone Tiger Roll who is half the size, gone up in the weights and only just scrambled home last year. Top 6 at best, Elliott is sucking up the press for something else in the stable I’m sure. Just hope I’ve ‘sussed’ the right one! Tiger Roll at 3’s for the national, form an orderly queue to place your bets with me please….

Can’t say I know much about the Lalor story, or his connections.
Paisley Park yes I agree, that would be a fantastic story….
Unfortunately I’m in the Faugheen camp as he’s my banker of the week…but I’d settle for coming second to Paisley Park.

It looks as though Pravalaguna could be heading here now…what with the ground and the mares allowance. They seem to have found the key to her this season, and just don’t think this year’s Arkle is a vintage one.
If they were going to run her over 2m 5f would have thought it would have been the novice handicap instead of the JLT, (taken out of the novice handicap today, but merely a guess with Mullins.
Anyway think 40/1 is a great value bet in what is my opinion a wide open race with no standout performer as yet.

This race has cut up a bit and still doubts about some….will Samcro be ready, no Apples Jade etc, now Penhill out. Paisley Park aside, Faugheen strolls this surely?
I still doubt what Paisley Park has beaten, although don’t doubt the manner of his last victory. But Faugheen was still on the bridle against Apples Jade before coming down, and in all honesty, is there really a consistent grade 1 animal in there in comparison to AJ and Faugheen?

Annamix was entered in a maiden hurdle tomorrow but now doesn’t appear to be. Does this mean the horse is unlikely to be running at cheltenham?
Wouldn’t have thought Mullins would run a maiden in the supreme would he?
I know he’s been a talking horse but anyone know if he will make cheltenham, or deemed not good enough to go now?

Can anyone see Don Poli heading here as I see he has an entry?
Could it be a similar path to what Tiger Roll took before taking the Grand National last year?
Might be one of those excuses that the change in discipline brought him back to life considering he’s been pulled up both runs since returning from injury. Convinced he’s still a long term plot waiting to happen…
Don’t know if it’s for this or the national, or both….
