Mortal @ 50/1 appeals at this stage. Has decent novice form and JOB says we didn’t see the best of him last season. Improvement expected, should be nicely weighted, being aimed at the top staying handicaps, hopefully this will be the first..
If he does turn up I’d be very interested, so just a few quid ante post right now.October 30, 2019 at 15:04 #1473306Entries….

There’s about a dozen I like here, and although I’m disappointed that Give Me A Copper doesn’t go, I will have another early go.
Total Recall, and Acapella Bourgeois jump out from the Mullins team, along with Elliot’s Borice.
The three who really interest me though are White Moon 16’s, and Dingo Dollar and Commodore, who both look very big at 33’s and 50’s.
I’ll almost certainly bet that pair in next 24 Hours.
Commodore 50’s
Dingo Dollar 33’sOctober 30, 2019 at 15:18 #1473308Discorama interests me. It’s here or the Thyestes if quotes are correct and plans stay the same.
Off his mark he’ll be pretty much top weight in a Thyestes, whereas here, he’s likely not to be. Trainer has mentioned him being a National horse down the line, + part owner is English. Stays all day, needs to jump better but had a nice enough prep run yesterday.
Often Irish and English trainers tend to stick to the closer option as it’s an easier option with travel etc. but i think there’s a fair chance he’ll come over.
25/1 available too. He went off 9/2 in the Nh chase last year and was beat 1/2L.
Ok Corral has the form to go off 4/1 in this i think even after he flew the white flag in the gruelling NH Chase.. but i’ll leave him for now.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!October 30, 2019 at 15:44 #1473310No Burrows Saint- I wonder why not- either he’s going to be brought along quietly and turned out to run later like most of the rest or his slight tendency to jump right put them off this race.
October 30, 2019 at 16:25 #1473312I’d be kind of interested in Kildisart except Ben Pauling’s stable tour notes said he was hard to get fit. (And, reading between the lines “Anthony Bromley tells me what to do and I’m beneath Elliott and Henderson in the pecking order” ).
I’d be interested in Borice as Elliott mentioned this race twice – along with “I’ll ask Anthony”- so I reckon he thinks the big jumping, galloping course would suit. But the stable’s default setting of the Troytown is the potential spanner in the works.October 30, 2019 at 21:21 #1473324I Like Kildisart a lot. I see he is jocked up for Carlisle on Sunday.
October 30, 2019 at 21:48 #1473327I think that we’ll find this to be a much stronger race this year, after last year’s small field.
It will be interesting to see what Mark Cabaret Queen gets, as she could struggle to get in. I really like her at 12/1.
Total Recall is a big price for a former winner too.
October 31, 2019 at 13:13 #1473355Loads of old favourites here and I’ll likely be mob handed if plenty of them trap. Commodore, Molly The Dolly and Cabaret Queen are my early fancies amongst many others, but one thing I noticed is that Yala Enki is now trained by Paul Nichols? When did this come about? I thought Venetia Williams was doing a great job with him…
October 31, 2019 at 20:42 #1473388Commodore is some price Peter, though I’m trying to hold off.
I knew you’d be going with him, but if you hadn’t, he’d definitely have been in my Ten To Follow.
November 4, 2019 at 12:27 #1473945Terrefort had an overreach per Racing Post stable tour and just starting back in work now. So Kildisart and Borice the two remaining M&S horses in this. Kildisart jumped very nicely round Carlisle and won’t have harmed his mark. Would definitely have a chance when fitter and further. Many Clouds chase was his other potential target although NJH has his eye on it for the rejuvenated (he hopes) Might Bite.
Borice…trainer sounded quite keen…but Grand National is ultimate target. Hmmm.
November 5, 2019 at 11:15 #1474059After a bit more thought I have added On the Blind Side. If he is as good as the trainer thinks he is then he is well handicapped. Encouraging reappearance at Ascot- I know he was running past beaten horses at the end but still, this and his finish to beat Talk is Cheap last season convince me that he will stay.
His confidence should improve for that and NJH has mentioned this race as a possible. He jumps slightly left at times- his Kempton win notwithstanding- and the flat galloping track should suit. I asked b365 for the Ladbrokes/Gold Cup double- in the hopes that with an ease in the ground all winter and comfortable shins he will learn to gallop and jump downhill with confidence- but they would not offer me a price (“traders decision”). (?)
So contented myself with an EW single.
And an ew treble with CDO for the King George and Santini for the Gold Cup. Got to have some nonsense bets hey
On The Blind Side 25-1 ew
November 6, 2019 at 14:16 #1474211I might be putting too much faith in him, but I have had an early bet on Cloth Cap at 50-1 ew.
I am also very tempted by the 20-1 for Real Steel
November 6, 2019 at 16:09 #1474222I seem to be following you about Lemons, I also took the 50/1 for Cloth Cap
and put him up at that price yesterday in Pat’s ante post thread. I’m hoping he
does really well in the Badger Beers on Saturday, if he does I think there’s every
chance they would run him here. Fingers crossed for both
November 7, 2019 at 17:10 #1474297Although this year’s renewal is almost certainly going to be better than last year’s, I’m still willing to go with Dingo again.
Same prep as last year, and if anything, he looked more forward today, than he did on the card last year.
I forgot today’s winner, Diablo Du Rouhet had an entry, although way down the list, he’s interesting, and a great trial from the unpredictable Daklondike as well.
Dingo Dollar 33’s EW
November 13, 2019 at 00:04 #1474686Commodore out tomorrow at Bangor.
Hopefully see a big run from him, and enough to book his ticket here. Haven’t bet him yet though.
November 13, 2019 at 13:28 #1474713With the stable flying I can’t see Commodore disappointing today and have taken the 50’s available about him in this contest. He wouldn’t necessarily be my main hope, but as each way value he’s right up there.
November 13, 2019 at 13:44 #1474718He seems very EASY to back – Sorry!
