Sweet William , each way , might grind some doubtful stayers down if Trawlerman not there . Still got some life in him after fresh up win.
Hes 16 runs 8 wins but there are a few races he left on table , Deauville last year and Keeneland last time out , he is a fantastic horse and great to see him this year , does he keep NS and Opera Ballo apart ?? .
Notable Speech , looked very very unlucky at Keenland last time , but that would have been good pipe opener

TokyoFew big ones i want to get in UK before i hop the twig , ive got to see a Derby at Epsom , ive been gallops at Newmarket and Sales but never the races , not sure why tbh but have to tick that off . Hexham and York another two i want to get to .
In OZ I might try give Birdsville a go but too old for the boxing booths night before races .
Sha Tin and more of Japan on my list too .
Royal Bangkok Turf club looks quite good for somewhere different , and at least one in States , Santa Anita the main one i want to go there .
Seen some great horses in my years on track since 83 , Desert Orchid thru to Winx ,Jockeys from Piggot thru to Davy Jones , had a few bad days on punt but never ever an unenjoyable day oncourse , have the same binoculars my Dad brought me when I was a kid and kept every racebook from everyday i was on track , box loads ready for my wife and kids to bin in skip when iam gone .I don’t think it’s a minority who care about fatal injuries , I think there are some like me hate to see it , who wouldn’t really but accept it as part of a sport with 500 kgs moving at pace , if I got so bad it really upset me id move on to punting on sport . I think racing does it’s best .
I get cheesed off horses that continually go round as no hopers appearing on the list , or horses that are getting on and have earned their corn plus some,I in those cases have sympathy for horse not connections so much .Weekly trainer , owner combo are producing horses with potential to go with proven stars . One after another , looking forward to seeing how they all progress , and really hoping Calandagan does target the Cox Plate , at Flemington he’s got it in his favour . I cannot see anything getting close to him bar Sir Delius .
Mr Waterville does the job , 2nd Tuesday at Warrnambool and just won the Champion Novice today , bolted up . Looked decent bet after Tuesday , jumps slickly .
Interviewed part owner on TV after , he said after Tuesday and today’s decent prize they are only about one and half million behind on him !! .Mullins is a true genius , and appears to be a gent.I was at Caulfield about 10 years back , they were saddling Siminon in Herbert Power Stakes , he was happy to have a yarn with punters as they watched the horses saddle up and was relaxed and friendly , as is Chris Waller when it comes to chatting in saddling area .
As for Coolmore and Derby Trials I watch for the also rans to see who’s coming to OZ , Iam waiting on Swagman from last year to get out , at Waterhouse / Bott yard .
And Mr Waterville gets out over the sticks tomorrow
Few ex Ballydoyle in most weeks .There are quite a few ive noticed over the years ex Martin Pipe lived to decent old age , Deanos Beano another who ended up living to 28 .
Looking at his last win , Pipe also had the favorite Out Ranking , ended up 20 wins , and Runaway Pete ended up 21 wins , 56 wins in total the 3 of them , tough horses .
Totally agree Gladiator , why not go out on a high with a gallant warrior like Edwardstone , I fully expected to read that he was retired on write up after race . They should look at what happened in race , look at what he has earnt , see he is 13 next Jan and probably be thankful . It’s the age old story , owners know they will never find or breed one so good so cannot let go .
Brian the Snail , cracking name for a racehorse , and done a cracking job , good to see some of these old timers retire healthy .
Up there with Frankel , beats allcomers , traveled to OZ and beat horses that would give Asfoora windburn as they breezed past , and just made Satono Reve look like he was glued to floor without breaking sweat , . Horses are not machines , but he is .
Romantic Warrior goes in a hour , hope old Royal Champion gives him a decent race .
Mr Waterville had a walk around under lights at Pakenham tonight , he is getting slower , must be a few goes over hurdles soon then surely they give up .
Hes all over the show , was talking Ebor few weeks ago , then 0 to 100 in next few weeks , concerned about ground on the horse but took up to week or so before Champion Hurdle to rule out a kamakaze racehorse out of a Champion Hurdle on biggest stage . Then spoke to Moore and decided to spell him . So Ryans training him ?? . Honestly the diverring is quite funny .
I really hope though he comes out and bolts home whatever race he goes in , whenever that may be .Hes unbeaten at 6f so July Cup out sadly , way too risky .
Hes a wonderful horse , i look forward to his races , but blimey i remember See You When but he did have glass legs , this is unreal .Good decision , he ran too often over jumps and lost his unbeaten record as a result , dont make same mistake twice , unbeaten on AW flat and turf flat , must be a November conditions race on all weather , preserve that unbeaten record .
