The buses were great , for my mind Tattenhan Corner and the buses the iconic parts of the Derby .

I get you Marlingford , 100 pc agree , i read stipes reports a lot , in NZ , AU and HK its clearly detailed , incident , injuries , action , and ongoing matters relating to it . There is a heading noted Horse Actions in those stipes .
Ive read the BHA published stipes , v v average , in fact abysmal .
Have a read of Aus ones on RISA Australian Racing , or NZTR for NZ and its clear .
Not sure why BHA are like that , as TBH as an outsider now i still believe uk racing is up there with best , entrance prices bonkers imho but they get decent crowds at times so it dont stop people , but variaty of courses in Eng amd Ire i miss . There always plus and minis in everthing .

That’s set Sweet William up nicely for the big one , 10 year old doing them , the staying stocks look average .

Not sure how racecourses can communicate it on course to punters , don’t think a tannoy announcement of a horse death would add any fun to a day out on course , if you know the game you know via various means that are pretty transparent but if someone’s taken the family, kids maybe for a day out on course for fun , do they really need to know the rough side of the game .
If you see the knackers van heading down it is not ending good sadly . Used to be parked up front and centre in middle of course opposite grandstand at some courses I recall , usually a old dunger of a truck , they weren’t hiding it tbh .

I think i got confused by that Eclipse few weeks later .
I do remember there was a open age maiden race on card and Hubbard had a rare flat runner .
I recall the evening as it was a rare occasion i dragged my wife round the M25 to the races .
Was at the Eclipse Mtoto won with Reference Point in field , my Dad nearly fainted at the entrance fee , he only stopped moaning after few races in , on and on he went .

Are one or two of Applebys pacemakers ? Rather than sending one from France again .
I cannot see Ombudsman beaten , although I was on course the year Bosra Sha was beaten in this , Iam sure she was pretty short , was a few years back now .
    Always a good meeting .

First horses i thought of when i saw this were Brondesbury and Provideo . Cracking jockey and was great following results on the radio to see if Provideo had won again .

Vauban owners have got Accidental Bid in Queensland Derby on Saturday . Went out at 150 to 1 for Adrian Nichols at Thirsk on debut finished 2nd . Had one more run in UK then won first two races in OZ . Sat wide in big field in lead up 6th of 16 . Fancied on Saturday , only 3 on 5th April so months behind local 3 year olds , tough but Russian Camelot won South Australian Derby few years back as northern bred , very few try it .
Damside goes back to Helen Street so can see why he was scouted out .

If Joliestar turns up I cannot see her beaten, high class mare, trainer knows what’s required , within 2 lengths of KYR in Everest , knows how to win down a straight 6 and can find extra levels late. Banker of meeting for me .

KYR don’t need his form franking anymore , but Comanche Brave done it anyway at the Curragh , was 6 lengths behind at Sha Tin , if KYR was pushed bar just doing exercise canter it would have been double figures .
Absolute dead set certainty in the Everest in October , there is nothing comes within lengths of him in world , and he would stretch to mile if they wanted and still beat everyone easy .

I thought it was a decent run , Vauban hopefully will go on to Q22 in a few weeks , 200 more and another 7 figure stake .
Birdman won well , was 3rd in Queens Vase in 2024 , he’s done well in OZ and earnt plenty .
422 k AUD Vauban has bagged in 3 runs this prep , he’s been a good buy considering he has probably a spring and another autumn prep after this left in him .
As for Pride of Jenni , she only runs one way , let’s rip , she sometimes slips them sometimes caught . I thought she was vulnerable today , the QE 2 from Randwick in 2024 worth a look on you tube , gave her too much rope and beat Via Sistina that day . She was retired after bleeding but they have brought her back well this past year as they coped a bit of flack bringing her back .

Vauban goes round in Doomben Cup today , big stakes up , goes out at 9s , i will be having a go using my one betback top 3 of day , Pride of Jenni will let rip on lead and i think something runs her down inside the 200 today , its just which one . Vauban goes well off a bigger break and 9s looks handy value.

Sweet William , each way , might grind some doubtful stayers down if Trawlerman not there . Still got some life in him after fresh up win.
