Hes all over the show , was talking Ebor few weeks ago , then 0 to 100 in next few weeks , concerned about ground on the horse but took up to week or so before Champion Hurdle to rule out a kamakaze racehorse out of a Champion Hurdle on biggest stage . Then spoke to Moore and decided to spell him . So Ryans training him ?? . Honestly the diverring is quite funny .
I really hope though he comes out and bolts home whatever race he goes in , whenever that may be .April 19, 2026 at 06:42 #1764260“I would have much rather Hendo just came out and said we are going to wait until the Autumn when the ground should be easier for him and then we will make up for lost time by giving him an agressive campaign of three or even four races (rising through the various grades) to find out just how good he could be on the flat.”
Can’t see him doing that, nevermind saying it.
Could be he intends waiting for the September Stakes, if he’s well beaten in that where do they go from there? How disappointing has Michael Buckley been in this whole saga?
How much do we think Constitution Hill would make if he was sent to the sales?
April 19, 2026 at 12:36 #1764286I was waiting for someone to say even though he hasn’t run much he’s still be in training since September. There is no way CH would have been given hard work for much of that time when he had very few targets during that period.
Many of those horses rocking up at Punchestown will have been in training since September and before that.
Did the horse look knackered at Kempton and in desperate need of a break? They should find out now if he is Group 3 class while he is race fit. He’s only run for just over 5 minutes since the Fighting Fifth!
April 19, 2026 at 16:13 #1764310Well there is a 12F Novice Stakes at Southwell next Saturday evening, that he could enter tomorrow. He’d have a double penalty and as the race includes 3-y-olds, that would mean him carrying 11st 2lbs. But that’s still less than he’s had in most hurdle races.
And it would give him the third run he needs to qualify for Class 1 and 2 handicaps, which are the only ones he can get into off his 101 handicap rating.
Of course this would be a sensible piece of placing with a clear objective, so not at all likely to be adopted by the prevaricating boss of Seven Barrows.
April 19, 2026 at 16:55 #1764316Alan, that’s exactly the kind of race I’d be looking for him right now. Stick to the AW and stay in your class. The John Porter entry was ridiculous in my opinion with the winner most likely being targeted at the KG. I think CH isn’t and will never be in that kind of class. He won’t have the change of gears required to win a competitive G3 race or better at 1m4f.
Why not maintaining the learning process and stick to Southwell?April 19, 2026 at 16:57 #1764317I’m surprised another of the aw tracks hasn’t put a tempting race for Henderson with a ridiculous prize fund …
