Won’t face more than four, maybe five horses and I can see him go off at 1/4 or even less. He was a best-priced 2/7 with the Wathnan horse the 2nd fav. If that one doesn’t go, he’ll be even shorter…. much shorter.
March 22, 2026 at 06:06 #1760691When I left the UK in 2000 , it was a win or three runs and a horse got a mark , when did that change , or is my memory wonky .
Used to be Luca Cumani plan , three runs up north then win decent summer handicap , more often than not at Goodwood then the horse turns out Group class .March 22, 2026 at 12:52 #1760713The rules on getting a handicap mark and how that is different depending on the type of race and the actual rating allocated get more complex by the year. Here’s the latest version, updated by the BHA quite recently:

March 23, 2026 at 12:58 #1760780If RTV subscribers want to watch Constitution Hill hack up at something like 1/5, they can apply for a ticket at the discounted price of £10.
Don’t miss the bargain of a lifetime.
March 23, 2026 at 13:02 #1760782If they pay my travelling expenses I might pop along!
March 23, 2026 at 14:06 #1760786They should rename this as ‘Eight Equines In Need Of A Handicap Mark Novice Stakes’.
CH is going to win by a wide margin, because none of the others will want to get within hailing distance at the finish.
March 23, 2026 at 14:13 #1760787I can’t recall the last time when a Maktoum family or Khalid Abdullah owned horse received that much attention when running in a Novices’ Stakes on the AW.
As Alan said he’ll run out an easy winner with nobody wanting to ruin a potentially low HC mark.March 24, 2026 at 08:39 #1760833If only he’d have gone chasing
Yes, I know he wouldn’t have made it up the hill but the fanboys would have made him odds on and we’d have 8’s for the day Gaelic Warrior …
My loss is Kempton’s gain

March 25, 2026 at 18:34 #1760954I”m going for an EW bet on
Star Artist 100/1
Who knows what can happen tonight but hoping CH scoots home.

I can’t recall the last time when a Maktoum family or Khalid Abdullah owned horse with such an illustrious record was running in a Novices’ Stakes on the AW.
March 25, 2026 at 19:21 #1760960“hoping CH scoots home”
I hope he gets home anyway. No reason why not but the weird handwringing from the trainer earlier in the week “I wish we hadn’t declared him” pretty much straight after declaring him – was off putting. Er, just withdraw him and pay the fine, then. Or run him. Whatever.

Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
March 25, 2026 at 19:37 #1760962Perfect execution too win by just under three lengths. A lot of happy bookies out there tonight as the boosts have all failed to fire.
March 25, 2026 at 19:38 #1760963Won’t say workmanlike but no where near as impressive as for the first run
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
March 25, 2026 at 19:40 #1760964Agree, HDLG. Should be a lot higher than 20/1 for the Melbourne or Ascot Gold Cup.
March 25, 2026 at 19:44 #1760965Well hes not going to Australia and won’t stay in the GC , surely John Porter next
