    Nice one, TDK.

In JP’s case, the achilles heel of the operation would appear to be Fran Berry. Not since the days of Bazalgette, has so much cash been spent on so much shi*te.

Usually on or around 15th September I think, though one or two others might be able to give a definitive date for posting out.

Max, if there has been a better post in this here Lounge in 2007, then I’ve yet to come across it.

Outstanding work, and it pretty much mirrors my own point of view 100%.

Cormack………..give this man a Blue Peter badge (or summat) pronto.

PS. Best give lollys mate one too…….in case he knocks you clean out.

I should also mention Kazal………….really impressed by that one’s attitude last season, and figure he has a bright future – hurdles or fences.

    Kicking King.

You might see him lead the parade in the Gold Cup, I suppose……….

Rumour has it that Aran Concerto has had a setback and might miss the season. Before anyone starts frothing at the mouth, I picked this news up elsewhere, but it is as yet uncorroborated.

My Way De Solzen is the one I’m most looking forward to. Hopefully he’ll be stepped up in trip this season, and I’d love to think he’d be aimed at the Henessey.

Clivex, stop being so sensitive. ;)

I’ve done illegal downloading in the past but a lot of the files weren’t up to scratch.

Have to agree there. Is there any sport more charmless and so completely hyped as the brain dead monotony of the supposedly glamorous Formula one?

Easiest sport to make money on – bar none.

Yes Mesh .. you could imagine just for an instant that you are an anarchist from a council estate without any baggage like morals, standards and all that.

For the record, Davros, I’ve only ever downloaded Sting and Phil Collins, so such barmoters don’t apply.

not talking about his commentary talking about the way he ran the whole show from the booth it was unprofessional

Didn’t see any of it steveh31, but if there’s been a loss of sound, and an evacuation to boot, it seems a bit tight to be doling out the "unprofessional" cards to someone who doesn’t claim to be a "professional" booth-jockey?

Zorro, do you think a blanket ban on FOBT’s will make a difference?

Sh*ite racing is still sh*ite racing after all, and it doesn’t necessarily follow that the cash will flow back to racing, if FOBT’s are banned.

Isn’t this like trying to shoot the fox, when your coop was in fact turned over by chicken-rustlers??

What are the best internet sites for downloading music? (legally)

Mesh, you’re such a Tory. Why don’t you try downloading music illegally? It’s an absolute skoosh, and you have zero chance whatsoever of getting huckled for it.

The only horse in the field today that was a 3yo last year was Dylan Thomas.

    Who isn’t shite.

I can hardly believe so many are prepared to play.

Bosranic, I refer you to my earlier question regarding the merits of this years 4yo’s. Perhaps this years Juddmonte was easier to win than usual, because last years 3yo’s were universally sh*ite?

Flash, as far as ratings are concerned, it’s a crap-shoot, imo. FWIW, I’m of the opinion that races are often rated on the value/perceived merit/historical significance of the race, rather than on the form actually displayed. This happens in NH racing too, to wit Timeform giving Kicking King 182 (or something) for his first King George.

    No matter.

Authorised may well be one of the best Flat horses of the last 25 years. My point is that he can’t be bracketed as such (surely?) until he has won the Arc. And even then, victory in that race should be viewed in the context of what he beat, and not the prestigiousness of the race.

Seriously, you can’t dispute the class of Authorized after today, and you can’t knock the Derby form in any way, shape or form.
    Mike

You could be right, Mikky – I wouldn’t know or care.

The question I have is this:

If Authorised hacks-up in the Arc, does it mean that he’s a superstar, and that this season’s 3yo form is thoroughly validated (in a historical sense)?

Or does it mean that last season’s 3yo’s were as pi*sh as everyone thought, and that any 3yo with a modicum of talent this season should hack-up in the race?

Regardless of the answer…..who actually gives a toss one way or the other??
