…………….or an insatiable sexual apetite like Grasshopper………………….:
I beg your pardon?????

You’re right though. Rarrr!!

I’m sure you’re not the only one, insomniac – the world is full of cranks.

Seriously, in what way do you think it has been pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli?
I watch News24 regularly, and I can’t remember a time when any of their Israel-based correspondents have started a report with "The bastards have done it to the Palestinians again!".
What I usually see is a presumed accurate representation of the facts, with pictures which possibly back the story-up. I then make-up my own mind about whether I believe it or not.
"Bias" is defined as ‘lopsided, predisposition (towards), distortion of result by neglected factor’.
I see no evidence of this in the BBC’s reporting from Israel.
What are we to do next? Accuse the BBC of a being pro-Smeaton, and anti-Iraqi Doctor?
insomniac, you’re point would have merit if the BBC were, without question, pro-Palestinian.
It is not the case.
It is merely your opinion, based on how you interpret their presentation/coverage.
In my opinion, the BBC does a pretty good job in terms of dispassionate coverage of the Middle East.
Maybe its a case of them presenting the facts, and you not necessarily wanting to agree with them, that makes you think they are pro-Palestinian??
Per Grasshopper:-
And I’m sure when/if Madeleine McCann’s kidnappers release her we’ll say what jolly decent people the kidnappers were after all!Bit of a cheap shot, if you don’t mind me saying so, insomniac – I expect better of you.

As NV says, you either hold all Palestinians responsible for Alan Johnston’s incarceration, or you hold the Doghmush/Army Of Islam responsible.
If you hold all Palestinians responsible, then you are not familiar with the case in any way, shape or form, and shouldn’t really be commenting on it.

If you are at all familiar with any of the details of this story, then you must acknowledge that Hamas were responsible for his release.
Even if you view it from a perspective of political entrenchment, it was, at the very least, a positive intervention.
“whip” is such an evocative word……..if only someone had had the foresight to call it “the cajoler” when they were first introduced.
I can sympathise with both arguments, though I would have thought that if the JC deem that ‘abuse’ can ‘improve’ a horses position, then I would have though that logic – and the laws of physics – would dictate that it absolutely has to affect the the position of the second horse also.
I concur with DJ and wit on this – in such circumstances, the placed horses are effectively being penalised, as is the jockey and anyone who has backed the combination. If its a level-playing they want, the existing rule solves nothing.
…………..The pleasure of sex is only as limited as the practitioners’ imaginations, surely?
gc
Especially so, if one happens to find oneself rattling a boiler.
Wasn’t quite what I was thinking, mm………..

I broadly agree, galejade
However, the best intelligence in the world might prove worthless, if a defence of "I couldn’t avoid it" holds-up.
The JC/HRA/whoever needs to completely overhaul the conditions under which individuals are licensed. There are currently far too many ‘integrity’ loopholes that the authorities are unable – or unwilling – to close.
…….Sex was never gauranteed, and the pleasure it gives me is only intermittent..
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at this one, mm……………
Lots of use of the word “avoid” in that directive, Wit.
Give your standing as TRF’s very own ‘Petrocelli’
what is your opinion on the defence of “I couldn’t avoid it”.Would such a defence be difficult to argue?
Why doesn’t the regulation just state “DO NOT………” or “………IS EXPRESSLY FORBIDDEN”.
“Avoid…..” seems like a bit of a fudge to me. Why isn’t more explicit language used?
Wewease Wonnie…………..
Amazing what you can find in the OED.
Numpty: (n) – a crazed, megalomaniac, forum Administrator, who wilfully, and with malice aforethought, deletes the accounts of long-standing forum members, at a whim, as part of a lunatic power-trip.
I know…………can you fecking believe it Mike?
And Corm was accussing me only last night of being an IT numpty. Cheeky ******* that he is.

I’ve gotten used to it now.
The only down-side so far is that we got (extra) trousered one lunchtime around Chrimbo, couldn’t be arsed going back into work, and all ended-up getting pinched, because we were outside the pub tabbing. It didnt exactly help that the windows of our capitalist ****** gendarmes offices, looked directly onto the pub.
Rather than give up drinking and smoking and becoming professional, we simply moved to a pub round the corner.
Job done.

Davros…….I think you make the mistake of listening to anything that baw-bag Alex Salmon has to say.
Hoewever, if you are going to dissect his words, then perhaps he had yer man Smeaton covered by the phrase “……delighted by the public’s response……………”? Just because he made for the best interviewee, doesnt mean Johnboy tackled them single-handed.
Also, there is a wider context to appreciate…….which is probably why Fattie made mention of the Scottish Islamic community.
Rye!!
