Just to make it even more confusing, looking at The Oaks today:-

The official ratings are not different but from 14 runners the Post only list 6 horses with an official rating while the Life has 12 with official ratings.

Clicking on the horses name in the BHB box in the Post reveals the BHB rating as given in the Life.

So why have the Post not listed the ratings while the Life has?

Thanks for all your efforts chaps. Maybe I’ll add them together and divide by two.

I feel quite important having both Richard Hoiles and Alan Potts replying

    Hi Dave

I think your memory may be failing you about Pro-punter:biggrin:

Surely you must remember having to input the details of every win for the horse. Fine if it was a flat race with a couple of wins per horse, but a handicap chase for seasoned campaigners and you could be looking at 20+ races for some horses.

Pro-Punter is available free at the moment. It does not seem any different to the old DOS version I had except it has a Windows interface. Tried it on an eight runner race . After inputting data for what seemed like half an hour and only being halfway through I gave up. Just as tedious as it always was.

It doesn’t seem that many years ago, in the depths of winter that 10 minutes after the last race, the 3:15 at  Sedgefield, my local Ladbrokes would be shut.

This winter back in December/January they were still open at 6:45pm. There were only two people in there and neither were customers.

Watching ATR this afternoon it seems from a couple of emails that Matt Chapman received ATR can be viewed in America on TVG which I assume is the TV channel that supplies the American racing programs on ATR in the evening for our viewing..

Virtual racing isn’t real so the commentators should not be real.

    I nominate

    Noddy – In the studio

Betty Boop – Link woman at the course

Bill & Ben – Race commentators

Pluto – to run on the course and chase the horses

I was thinking something similar Dave. Why not start a tipping service with no reference to code breaking and BODD-M (who ever  he is)

It would be a darn sight easier than trying sell a book that no one understands (free to us lucky TRF members) mainly because Alan tends to write in a code of his own.

At times he almost seems to have invented a new language. It could be that he just talks in circles until he gradually disappears up his own back door that he keeps referring to.

Mind you if he did put the code selections out as tips they would be in the form of a crossword with cryptic clues and as I am s**t
at crosswords I’d be no further forward.

It must be, W H Smith are selling his book. I won’t post the link in case people start to think Alan and I are a double act or worse still the same person posting under different names.

Thanks for the reply Alan but you never gave me a gold star like what Dave Jay got. I’m going to throw my toys out of the pram now.

Let’s see if I have got this right.

William Hill, Ladbrokes and Corals are no longer in competition with each other but have formed a cartel with the express purpose of taking as much money from the punter as possible.

They use mathematical and probability modelling to predict the likely winner or outcome of an event. This model is very accurate and at times so accurate that the outcome is known with 100% certainty. They also have the clout to fix the outcome of an event.

With this knowledge they then price up the event in such a way as to direct the punter away from the winner so he (or she) places a bet on a false favourite.

So far so good, it might not be true but it is believable.

The cartel also encrypts the winner of the event into the forecasts of various daily newspapers, and later on encrypts the information into the live market.

My question is WHY? What is the point? They have already deluded the punter why publish the name of the winner before the event has taken place, even in encrypted form?

I haven’t been to Fontwell for years but it always amused me as it was like a field with a group of odd buildings in one corner that looked like something left over from the 2nd world war.

For some unexplainable reason these building were erected on the only part of the course that was not flat so you walk up hill on the tearoom side go through a gap where the wind gets funnelled to gale force then downhill on the grand stand side, where all the bookies pitches are on an incline.

Maybe it’s had a facelift since I last visited.

    Hi FSL

There seems to be some confusion between transferring and withdrawing funds.

It seems you wanted to withdraw your funds but instead transferred them to your Australian wallet.

Now from the first email from BF I quote:-

We are unable to withdraw funds out of your Australian wallet until you have passed a KYC check. To do this we need you to comply with the policy outlined below. <br>

    and from the second email:-

We are not obligated to withdraw these funds in your Australian wallet and under our agreement with Australia we must leave these funds within the wallet until you have passed our KYC check.

You notice in both instances that BF seem to be confused about what you want to do.  Maybe you should try telling them that you do not want to withdraw from you Australian wallet but transfer the money back to your UK wallet.

If you can get that far then maybe you may be able to withdraw your money.

Can’t help thinking a these KYC checks should be in place when a person first  opens an account, but if they were there would be a lot of people saying ‘I’m not bothering with all this s**t<br>. I’ll just go down the bookies.’

I see Wit posted while I was composing my message, much more polished and professional.

    Deadly Sins

I suppose the way round that is to give someone else the list of races and ask them which ones Templegate & Sunratings agree on without telling you the selection.

Now I suppse you will say that you live on your own & your dog can’t read

Instead of you reading the form and making a selection only do races that Templegate, Sunratings & Tom Pepper agree on, or any other permutation you can think of.
