Not expecting Chaldean to stay a mile. Looks like a 7F performer to me.

David Pipe is doing really well with these ex French horses, usually old high mileage types acquired by the Wilsons from claimers. He mixes up hurdles and fences with them and they seem to stand a lot of racing.
It was indeed a messy farce of a race.

Running the Royal Lodge at Newmarket is just wrong. It belongs at Ascot.
The gelded Serpentine might disagree about Group I winners being exempt from the knife.

Maybe the three year olds are not that good.
Having backed Westover each way in the Derby at 28/1 where he had an unlucky passage I was pleased he got compensation in the Irish Derby.
Would love to see him win this but would be concerned about firm ground.
