SKY DEFENDER was a huge disappointment but I think I have a very good chance of getting my money back tomorrow, Tuesday where the ticks look big and the ducks even bigger.

    GOING NATIVE – 6.00 Southwell @ 1/1. . . . . . WON
Both P.Power and Betfair’s prices look very much out of line with with the other layers low early prices.

Ah, it’s just a bit of fun VtC, nothing else.

To sustain this, I expect an ability to endure losing runs is required and is a quality I lack. We are all capable of pulling off a Swimbo type of selection every so often but to go looking for one every day is more than optimistic.

I am trying to reduce the risk but I think we both understand it is only when the big prices are landed is when the profit is made.

I will continue until the expected losses mount up.

Monday at home, here in the UK.

    Will you be tempted: –

Wolverhampton 6.15 SKY DEFENDER @ 6/4 Unibet [boosted]

Now, SKY DEFENDER 7.15 Wolverhampton is a poor early price at 4/9, tempted, perhaps not. But both selections are well supported, in other words they each have all the ducks in a row, DEAR POWER has even more ducks etc. So, I have halved my stake and coupled them in a double with BetVictor at 11/8 and 4/9.

Because I spend a great deal of time with my Australian system I decided after checking Monday’s UK cards and not finding any coincidence selections I would look Down-Under where I can reference possible choices via several sites.

    Cairns – R7 (8.00) FRED’S GIFT [e/w] @ 8/1 Unibet . . . 2nd = return +0.30

    Monday in Australia.

I have always found much difficulty sticking to self imposed betting rules or system rules as being the hardest of all disciplines which can also define myself as being a MUG PUNTER [another thread] and such is the situation I find myself facing for Monday in Australia.

There are three venues status there, Metropolitan, Provincial and Country or perhaps as we may describe them as City, Town and Rural.

Our efforts, MrE more than myself, determined Rural venues were best avoided, maybe one day with more data this will be changed but it has been a discipline adopted this current season and tomorrow, Monday, finds racing only at Country venues and thus will be avoided. Monday’s are always poor racing days, the best usually are Wednesday [mid-week] and Saturday but who knows it could possibly be the start of a slow wind down towards Autumn.

    MARCH 1st

The start of another month which may herald our Springtime but if everything was equally balance it should be the reverse in Australia and their start towards Autumn but I am never sure when they do consider the end of summer is upon them. It may start earlier in the South Australia, then perhaps Victoria and be a little later towards NSW & then Queensland, whilst out west WA last of all.

For me this will require keeping careful watch, especially with regard to the ground conditions where sudden and severe storms can change the ground very quickly and therefore I may put my Australian system away whilst we enjoy better quality flat racing throughout our summer, that is if we do have a summer.

    Beginners luck maybe!

Possibly the spirit of Swimbo could be having an effect.

    Pay attention Nathan.

At Newcastle this evening you may be interested in two races: –

    6.15 – KLOPP
    7.15 – KLIPPERTY KLOPP

I was rather taken by the early favourite in Dundalk 5.30 BILLYFAIRPLAY . . . . WON 7/2

I wonder what Swimbo would have to say about these?

    Saturday in Australia [February 29th]

What is it they call it LEAP YEAR’S DAY – Nathan had better watch out because it is (I think) the day on which the ladies propose marriage. Stay indoors young sir or practice NAY, Nathan.

At last I am keeping my betting numbers down and only have 2 for the day: –

    DIAMOND EFFORT – Flemington R1, @ SP . . . . . . . . . WON

    TUSCAN QUEEN – Ascot R8 @ 5/2

I am trying hard to follow advice that I must feel good about my selections [not easy] but the boxes are ticked and the ducks are all lined of regarding DIAMOND EFFORT. :good:

Purwell, have a chat with elcartero, he is the master of betting two in a race and as I remember he would also have a reverse forecast at reduced stakes.

I am as Purwell would say ON A ROLL

But the roll is only of one and the feeling is wonderful.

    Purwell.

Have you never experienced the feeling of being on a roll?

I have, it’s wonderful but sadly does not last long.

Talk about going to seed, I think I am. I have just discovered I had not checked Wednesday’s runner, PUNCTUATION, perhaps I was not enthused by a past history of not doing well with HM The Queen’s horses, anyway it all turned out fine with a winner which ended a short losing run.

One for tomorrow Friday, it has all the credentials (ducks lined up in a row) of being a winner but we all know no matter how many ticks there are, things can go wrong. That’s the wealth warning done and I am filling my boots.

LEXINGTON FORCE – Newcastle, 5.45 @ 0.86/1 (boosted) Wm. Hill

The price is not generous but with that many ducks and ticks is never was going to be 100/1

    G’day MrE

All this coming and going between Essex and Norfolk always knock me out for a couple of days plus the problem of my internet signal is so much slower and so there are times when I just cannot be bothered to sit and watch that little circle going round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round and round.

    MR PAGO – R4 Albany @ 1/1 . . . . . . WON

Has all the ticks in all the boxes. Will it win? I hope so, that is if Sian does not have it as a lay
