It feels odd to be making a return post here after such a long while and I do not promise to post every day but I rather feel my arm has been twisted by the cardboard imposter of a Welshman who still thinks himself to be a mystery.
Why Australia? It is quite simple really insomuch as I feel Flat racing to be a shade more predictable than when obstacles are put in their path and then there is the subject of UK’s winter ground conditions being oh so unreliable.
Where else can good ground racing be found, well look at other sunnier climes such as South Africa and Arabia but for my bit I am content with the land of the Roo’ and Dingo where there is plenty of good racing from country festivals to the metro’ group 1 venues in every major city where both the Arabs and the Irish contest huge prize money races and it was only the Saturday before last when the winner of The Railway Stakes (Ascot WA) posted 1,000,000 Australian Dollars for the winner and on the under card the next best race was for half a million and lest we forget they can produce some wonderful horses like WINX.
Time for me to put my soapbox away because there are not many in our part of the world willing to be converted and my words will mostly fall on deaf ears maybe because the time differences which can complicate matters but betting if planned can be arranged 24 hours in advance with prices readily available via a good many UK layers.
I prefer to get my bets away early whereas our friend waving the giant leak likes to leave his choices until later, who knows which of us is prevailing with the better strategy but the joy is there is plenty of time to Do It Your way.
Here is a couple for you to flirt with and if they make a profit then the credit is all mine: –
Kyneton – Race 5, 4.30 THE EXECUTIONER – 2/1 taken with UNIBET
Coffs Harbour – Race 6, 5.20 INVINCORE 5/2 taken with bet365
Good luck.

Reading the opening post makes no sense to me but if you can make it pay it doesn’t matter what your chosen choice is and I wish you well with it.
Anyway got to dash as Matron is calling out that there is a Kangaroos loose in the top paddock…
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
December 4, 2019 at 18:34 #1476540I am sorry my post does not make any sense to you Nathan, I did try to keep it simple but perhaps because I am suffering with the flu’ it is all too much effort.
Perhaps we are far too parochial and as is the inherent manner of us Anglo Saxon islanders we often believe no one can do anything better than ourselves and therefore choose to ignore anything which may contradict this viewpoint.
Of course for example you will have heard of The Melbourne Cup with 4.4 million Au Dollars prize money to the winner gradually dropping to 160,000 for 12th place and is the reason why at 5% to the jockey the likes of Wm. Buick, F. Dettori and J. Spencer make the long journey and trainers like the O’Brien’s, C. Appleby and R. Hannon want their 10% share.
Such glorious pickings are available and yet we the punters choose to ignore the same opportunities available to us not only Down Under but across the pond to Nth. America and let us not forget the Far East which I am sure is why the big bookies cover such events and places, large or small.
I am not an expert but I have found a few helpful sites and am quite happy to pass them on to you or any other wanting to participate in the Dingo Dollar Challenge.

December 4, 2019 at 19:00 #1476546Hi Bill, good to see you back. Good luck with the thread.
December 4, 2019 at 19:06 #1476547Good luck from me as well Bill – nice to see you posting again – and don’t put-up with all the “jibber jabber” from MrE.
December 4, 2019 at 19:45 #1476549Slap my thighs and heave a great chortle…. I never expected to see you bounce back on here Bill…. I told ’em all that you had passed on. I also remembered my reprimanding you for wearing a frock in here, especially without a petticoat….. I can see right through that thin material and find it rather off putting looking at those lovely shapely legs….. but you need to find a better place to carry your dinner, I can see your sausage and two veg, I always like to keep my Tesco’s in a carrier bag (paper not plastic).
And, surprise surprise, you even started your own thread, that’s unusual, you usually hijack Matrons threads. Wasn’t it exciting to be surrounded by such a great number of past friends, I’ll wager that you’ll be burping all night from those hundreds of pats on the back. I hope this thread does you proud Bill, start hammering in those winners and I’m sure that you get a good following, it might even temp Nathan into parting with 50p now and again…. nice to know that your still able to type and the rheumatics aren’t effecting you typing too much.
Oh, and in passing, it might be beneficial that you know about Matrons secret stash of Haemorrhoidal creams, they are kept in the handbag that she always carries, she has them on hand to help out wherever she can…. treat her kindly, the pain only last a minute….

December 4, 2019 at 19:50 #1476550Hi VtC + Matron.
It has become a regular practice to check for Australian market movers during our evening time and I guess when the Australian punters are starting to wake up which is all a bit odd and now even in my 2nd year flirting with everything there, still feels strange.
I have found a couple running at Townsville (whilst I shall be sleeping soundly, I hope), although I like the favourites these are a bit too short for me but each have outstanding chances according to other indicators but they may prove ideal to create any first interest in what is going on down there.

December 4, 2019 at 22:57 #1476557There are many things I enjoy regarding Australian racing which perhaps what many could dislike, being the time difference but I have managed to turn it to my personal advantage being that I have many strange hours to find and bet my selections, unlike UK when I found myself always under time pressure to do the required work but real-time life was getting in the way.
Here I am about to go to bed but before closing the machine down I made one last check of the live market via Oddschecker and found 3 more possibles fitting my process’s.
Coffs Harbour Race 1 VECCHIETTA – Race 3 DAWN THUNDER & Kyneton Race 3 BOTTOM DECK
VECCHIETTA gets my vote @ 6/5
There are times when I wished I had not made a late check but other times I have found a much needed winner and is a great way to start the day having such a winner pre-breakfast.

that was nearly funny Bill…. I felt a little smile crease my face…. but it might have been wind.
I see that you’ve plonked in a couple of your Kangaroo fancies…. let me try and help out without muddying the waters….
Lose The Snip… LOST.. Aggarwal… LOST.. Outpatient… LOST..
They would be my plays for Oz….. not wanting to steal your thunder old mate, just that it’s about Australian racing…. I dunno whether I’m gonna stay, but I might start putting my UK selections up too…. I’m always game for a laugh.
It feels nice to be posting with old friends, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of those around these days, they’ve all wandered off into different parts of the ether and that’s sad…. but that’s what it’s all about, moving onto new pastures… we’re all guilty of that. I loved it when Cormack took over the reins (fond memories of Daylight), and we had Poker sessions with group members, good days and very enjoyable, but on returning to the fold, TRF looks a shadow of it’s former self and that’s uncomfortable to say… TRF was the be all and end all of my internet chat room experience, I loved it and couldn’t get enough, it’s strange how time destroys everything it touches…. even me guys, MrE turns 77 on Sunday….
still taking money off them bookies though and will continue do do so as long as I am able….. I’ve gottem by the short hairs….

MrE
I’m with you Bill…. 3 WIN bets all finished 2nd…. cruel, so cruel….
December 5, 2019 at 08:07 #1476569Oh dear oh dear MrE the water required no muddying.
The joy of Australian horse racing is getting out of bed to count the winnings accrued overnight but then there are other days when getting out of bed is the worst thing you could do and deductions have to be made from the bank.
And then there are even worse days as per today when I simply want to throw myself of Clacton Pier but with today’s luck the tide would be out.
These results are enough for any reader to say “Stuff that mate, I’m steering clear of Australia” and I would not blame them but ever the optimist I will be searching out my next winner after my breakfast.

December 5, 2019 at 11:53 #1476575In for a penny Billy my boy, in for a penny….. gotta take advantage of there being no inmates to take the pee, we can talk admiringly between ourselves. Matron is far to busy polishing his brasses and Nathan hasn’t learned how to read yet, so we’re pretty safe from abuse for awhile…. unless Matron gets that stirring again, then anything might happen. OK, lets really dip toes into the water with a couple from these shores….
NE14UKGGS….
1.55 Leic… Never Equalled…. LOST….
3.05 Leic… Wenceslaus…. WINNER @ 4.16…..
OK, the thread heading is “Australia and other strange places”, and I am assuming that Billy Wombat thinks that TRF is one of those “strange places”…..
December 5, 2019 at 14:23 #1476586You are not too far wrong MrE and I wish you the very best of British luck with these two, let’s be honest that don’t have to be good to be better than the heap of dogs mess we turned up yesterday . . . . or was it today?
There are 7 meetings overnight in Oz. One in a place named MUDGEE and I have never heard of that one. Approx. 165 miles outside of Sydney in the wine region and has a population of 12,000.
It did not take me long to get over my early morning sulks and start to anticipate better things tonight/morning/whatever.

December 5, 2019 at 17:00 #1476595Bill…. I think that I might have a couple for later, I do anything for a laugh. I’ve already picked ’em and backed ’em but I wanna wait for any n/runners before I stick the selections on here…. Nathan would be overjoyed id I tipped 2 n/runners….

December 5, 2019 at 17:47 #1476600I was a non runner the other night MrE
I had arranged to meet young woman who was as they would say in Australia keen to play with my boomerang. I was just on my way out the door to go to her place when a friend of mine turns up and he is p!ssed as a fart and couldn’t drive the 10 miles or so back home. So I text my promise that I’m running 10 to 20 minutes late. Drop my friend home and drive back. Check my messages and there is one from her saying don’t bother I got someone else around now..

December 5, 2019 at 19:08 #1476613MrE, I have heard about these dating sites for loose women like Nathan and without a blue pill they would be no good for us oldies. Nice profit at Leicester – well done.
I have just perused the oddschecker site for any market movers down under and found 3 but none get my juices flowing but it will be interesting to monitor them if only to see if I was right by swerving them.
Mount Gambier Race 2 Revilis @ 6/4

December 5, 2019 at 22:53 #1476618You’ve got no heart Bill, just because old Nathan can’t get it up is no reason to laugh…. poor old Nathan…. we’ve all suffered “the droop” from time to time, it’s just not that heard of in Nathan’s young age… I’m sure the girls will commiserate with him (whilst hiding a few smiles), but Matron is absolutely seething because Nathan didn’t offer him first dibs…. Matron is stalking the corridors of Ward 7 now and he’s waving his thing in frustration… his thing???… I mean his cane (I couldn’t think of the name)….
yes, I think that he is mightily displeased and may ask Nathan to spend some time with the doctor for various tests…. no, don’t ask me, I haven’t gotta clue either, but I get the impression that it might be uncomfortable….
Serves him right anyway…. I’ve got no sympathy for him two timing Matron, Matron is going to look for vengeance and she might venge in my direction…. I’ll pass her over to you Bill, your a dab hand at it….
