You strain the brain here
Formath
and it must be "Hobson’s choice" as are most things with betting.
6 selections = Heinz (full cover perm.) of 57 bets.
I really would not like to give an opinion other than to say with my luck the selections would be in all the wrong places.
I really am no expert and my muliple betting is much about restricted to the earlier posting and the more selections I have the more I start to waver.
I said earlier that "The Flag" has had a couple of mentions which in truth is a bet I have swerved but only because it is like your suggestion, selective in so much as a lot will depend where the selections are placed.
I hate to admit it but my reasons for this thread is because I fail to make a reasonable profit with my singles and have of late given most, if not all, my profit gained throughout the summer back to the layers/bookies. I love the thrill & fun of betting (tried laying and hated it) but still want to retain the fun/thrill but with even smaller stakes and reason that only multiples can do it,
for me that is
, sure, I understand this approach is not for everybody.
I have much about tried all things there are to be experimented with over far too many years and can only say that "Money Management" is the only route to betting happiness and money management will again come in many different ways to each betting individual.
Oh hell, I can waffle on at times but perhaps your old book on
Betting Sensibly
can determine selection methods, different types of betting practice and staking plans. . .
if only we had ALL the answers!

The Lucky 15
has now recieved two mentions and so looks to be more popular than Gordon Brown.
Is the consensus of opinion that the bet should be tailored to the number of selections (which has been my MO.)
2 selections = 2 singles + a double, half stakes on the double.
3 selections = a Trixie
4 selections . . . I am never sure about but err towards doubles only, in pref. to a Yankee
5 selections = 10 doubles
6 & more selections and I implode ! ! !
With each way selections my preference in the past has been for 10/1 and greater only but having recenly read a posting (somewhere) which struck a chord with me was 4/1 min. when paying a 25% or 5/1 min. when paying 20% and due to a recent run of very poor results have adopted this method.

Thanks once more
Formath
for your patience, let’s keep our fingers crossed for another one today.

Oh wow!
Dicoh & Sam’s Cross made a superb double made all the more delightful with the early price of Sam’s Cross.
I will certainly play this system again and again.

Page loading is a problem which I guess you will cure otherwise I think the presentation is so clean and modern which looks great.

Thanks again for your tolerance
Formath
, I think I am now getting it (I think!).
So, after the sequence of 4 we must then look back at the results of the others to find who is HOT.
HOT must therefore be determined by the one with the most winners but if there is a lean spell without a winner and sadly it does happen, do you wait for the next winner or take the one with the most "places"?
Billy's Outback Shack
P.s.
Formath
you said we go again with Goodfellow tomorrow, because he is HOT!
What if any of the other tipsters also had a winner? Do you remain with Goodfellow or divide between any/all winning (HOT) tipsters?
Billy's Outback Shack
What a way to start, well done
Formath
, I shall be quick because my signal is getting very weak and may end up with me losing this post.
I did not know we had a winner so this is a big surprise.
Just to go over it once again. All winnings taken, the sequence ends and the pot is divided by two, we keep one half and start a fresh sequence with the new total which will pay for the next 4 days, in your case 20 then 10 then 5 and 5 again.
Hope I am right, well done again!

Hi Chaps
,
Mulls74
Once again thanks for the response, out of interest I did check out todays selections and as often happens the paper and reality don’t always agree and in the case of Boquito (7.20 Kempton) it was not practical to bet each way when only 7/4 was available and thus dropped from the system. Nevertheless I was still left with 5 selections and 10 ew doubles.
Formath
Your posting is also of very much interest and once again sounds like a bit of fun, although I am not quite clear as to the function, will you plese clarify if my understanding is correct.
The bank for the week is 16 (oh dear I remember shillings only too well plus "tanners and farthings etc.) and the bank is then divided for a daily punt as Say Monday 8, Tuesday 4, Wednesday 2 and Thursday 1.
Any winnings is added to a "pot" or whatever but if all four days are losing bets the max. loss is budgeted for at 16.
Then I guess a new sequence can restart on Friday and with some luck could be playing with bookies money, now there is a nice thought.
Some of the "oldies" can still be "goodies" despite the passing years and in fact if they are still around it can only be testiment to there durability and quality.
Thanks again Guys, I wonder if this will inspire some more "Golden Oldies" to be dredged up.

G’day Chaps,
Thanks for your replies and am sorry for the delay with my reply but my connection has been dire, don’t believe anything anyone tells you about "mobile dongles" my one is dreadfull.
Hey, I like the new look, very swish, modern and clean looking.
Formath.
this one would have to be watered down for me, when I see £40 stakes I fear my pension would not last very long at all.
Dave-Jay
this one sounds a bit of fun and would be interesting just to see how long a winning run could go.
Artemis
can you please explain what you mean by having some public support?
Mulls74
As I read the Daily "Depression" every day and am a big Formcast fan this one holds some interest and can see betting each way will not hurt the pocket too hard and will give it a go. Out of interest when you say not in the betting forecast are you talking of the Mail’s own or any specific forecast?
These systems fall within what I call "KISS" methods which although they may not be ideal for the true expert I have found there can be some logic to them.
I have been experimenting with an idea but it does require a little something to improve it so if anyone can make a suggestion please do.
I have used Formcast’s (black spot) top rated but think anything could be used such as RPR or even tipsters selections and rate just the one in the race: –
Add days since last time out to the number of declared runners and then add the position in the betting forecast.
Totals considered up to 25 only and then select the lowest 1 – 2 – 3 or as may as you like after running through all the cards.
The logic being it is either top rated or tipped etc. it should be fit and fresh and considered favourable by whoever drew up the forecast. 2nd LTO looks better or if carrying a weight penalty.
All suggestions welcome.

True
Dolus
, sadly very, very true and I do agree with the sentiment you make and have no argument with it.
However let us remove the logic and get back to the reason why there are a lot of us who do not like to risk
BIG MONEY
and let us not forget that big money can mean different things to different betters.
I am coming from the
small money
corner but nevertheless enjoy my punts and where I think we can both agree is winning is more enjoyable than losing.
Now my good neighbour who only bets favourites in his multiple he enjoys winning but every time I have punted the favs I have been turnes over, I know there is a 60% chance (roughly) my first selection will lose but I hang on to the fact that there is a 40% chance of it winning and the only way of which I am aware to back favourites and make a long term profit can only be via multiple bets.
And so I come back to my search of how to find favourites or short priced selections that win.
To start I guess I should increase my chances by only looking at non-handicap races but then there arn’t always enough to make a Trixie/Yankee etc. The non-handicap favs should only be in races of up to say 8 runners and so the choice is further reduced and so once again
I ask if anyone can suggest a simple little system which is suited to multiple betting.
Billy's Outback Shack
Wm Haggas
has the best record for level stake profit at Ascot so I wonder how SHAMANDAR will do in the 3.10 today. At such a small price I will give it a miss but
Poppy N’penny
his other runner with young Kirsty on board looks worth a punt at
80/1
in the same race.
M. Jarvis
is the main man at Haydock today and 2 of his 3 runners are interesting for me.
SHELFAH
in the 2.10 at
9/2
and
PETOUGG
in the 3.20 looks an each way bet at
16/1
the one I shall miss is Atlaal at such a short price
It would be nice if a profit is made today so that it would illustrate the value of these two great little books

I have just noticed Victor Chandler has joined the ranks of those offering Best Odds Guaranteed and so I have now joined up.
Two small winners with the system yesterday but that is so easy to say when they were not posted and before anyone cries FOUL! the answer is yes I do know and understand the unwritten rules but too hell with it.
Some interesting selections today: –
Ascot 3.45 Phillipina
Ascot 4.20 The Scorching Wind & Laughing Boy (never had 2 before in the same race?)
Haydock 2.45 Atlaal (@1/4 on I will miss it out)
Haydock 3.20 Lava Lamp
Billy's Outback Shack
As a follow on from the previous post may I also suggest a couple of snippetts extracted from said books: –
September.
John Gosden shows the greatest level stakes profit for this month since 2004 +92
Saeed Bin Suroor has the best win percentage at 25% 96 winners from 384 runnersOctober
Wm Haggas is top man at level stakes +67.94 over the same period.
Saeed Bin Suroor is once again top man with a 23.5 % strike rate, 94 from 405 runnersBilly's Outback Shack
G’day Lance,
I have tried 3 times to get this posting off and each time lost it because a poor internet connection so excuse me if this short and sweet.
A bit late in the season to buy, however I did, from WH Smith to experiment with for next year and have turned up some real gems.
Sept 7 Poppanan 25/1 and Fortunes Fire at 40/1 on the same day, then a week later Bathwick Gold at 66/1.
I will be 1st in line to get next years updated versions
Book 1 TRAINERS Flat Statistics 2009 at £16.99 as much info as you could ever want on trainers.
Book 2 a little gem at £6.99 called Racing & Football Outlook FLAT RACING guide 2009. Just like the first book all the exciting info is at the back, Jockey’s, Trainers performances track by track, percentages and level stakes.
Combine info from both books and turn up some
REAL WINNERS

Thanks Dolus, I don’t like the sound of that!

G,day Artemis,
Try: – Bet365, Paddy Power, Wm Hill, Stan James & Boyle’s
I have found odd shops, Tote Sport was one where an office is floundering also enjoys Best Odds Guaranteed on ALL British and Irish races.
Check them out!
Whilst posting I had better put up todays BF’s although it feels as if I cannot buy a winner, I think as we are coming to the end of the Flat season and not yet crossed over to the Jumps it is a "graveyard" period where if a system is going to fail it is during such a tansitional period.
Goodwood 3.10 Solemn
Kempton 7.20 Trueblue Wizard
Redcar 1.45 Cash Queen Anna
*Perth 2.25 Bathazar King
*Perth 4.45 The Wicketkeeper*Both off the track so BF’s may not apply ??????
