Attention all!!! Im in a pickle!! Need help!

Whats up? You been offering 20/1 about

    Tataniano

winning the Champion chase or something and fled the country!

LOL!!! Id still be loathe to backing him for Cheltenham, Im just not a fan of the horse. I see hes around the 8-10/1 mark, again, a ridiculously short-price. Theres not much going on back home in Ireland, so i decided to take a short-term contract working abroad. Missing the racing like crazy though :-(

P.S. If u remember correctly, i also said Tatatiano should be 20/1 just to MAKE IT to the Arkle!!! I was proven right ;-)

In who’s own back yard did you say? Your concept of "out performing" would have many jockeys leaving the yard.Perhaps you are just reaching.Oxx didn’t look unkindly at Kinane’s "poor" riding skills.(I bet Aidan had a hard time watching the backside of StS and Mike)Seems like Kinane had no problem dealing with the stress of riding the wonder horse.Perhaps his age gives John Oxx a more mature vision.Jamie became champion jockey in England the following year.Says something again about rushing to judgement.Stoute seems such a mature person also in his dealings with Fallon. When it becomes "all about me" good people scatter.Where does the buck stop at Ballydoyle? The parade of world class jockeys is more impressive than the parade of world class horses.

I see what you mean, but I dont think Murtagh has been at the ‘races’ the past season or so, if you excuse the pun.
Stoute may have shown extreme patience with Fallon, question is, did he deserve all those chances? Me?? I dont think so, Aidan O’Brien and Coolmore stuck by him as long as they could, but he kept on pushing their patience, he had to be replaced.
Kinane is one of my all-time favourites, but to use the term, ‘dealing with the stress of riding the wonder horse’, actually had me laughing!!! Ask ANY jockey, and they would also love to have the ‘stressful’ job of riding Sea the Stars!!!! On his leaving Ballydoyle, he’s the one I thought was treated the harshest, as his only 2 real blemishes I recall both came at the Breeders Cup, on Giants Causeway and Rock of Gibralter.
Then theres Spencer…He shared a jockeys title in England with Sanders, and that was after riding something like over 1000 races in 6 months!!! Regarding Ballydoyle, he had messed up too many times when it mattered, even his biggest fan would admit that, and it was best for all concerned that they parted company when they did. Ballydoyle were losing big races they should’ve won, and Spencers confidence was shot to pieces.
Maybe Ballydoyle do make hasty decisions sometimes, but theres is an operation that can’t sit still, the World keeps spinning!!!! And Joseph O’Brien has made Murtagh look foolish on more than one occasion this past season ;-)

Sizing Europe for staying chases, and IF Hurricane Fly stays sound, hes the best we got, although i wont be writing off Go Native just yet after one shocking run, too soon.

Does anyone know what’s happening with Soldatino?

I get the feeling that Nicky Henderson is keeping plans open for the horse.

Was a very impressive winner i thought, of the Triumph, especially off the pace that Barizan set that day.

Nicky Henderson does have a wealth of talent in the hurdling division, so i imagine once plans for other horses become a little clearer, then there may be more concrete plans for the grey.

On the subject of Barizan, any idea whats the plan for him after his run at Wincanton? Is he a horse that needs to be on the go all the time, like last season, or needs more time between races? Im in the States the last few weeks, havent seen the racing, just got results. Saw his finishing position, was it that bad a run?

IF Neptune Collonges is on the form which twice saw him 7-8 lengths behind Denman in the 08/09 Gold Cups he will be very tough to beat and think he’s better value than last seasons novices that are trading at half the price.

Thats some ‘IF’ though, isnt it?? Do horses come back from those injuries with all their old talent still intact? Very rarely unfortunately. War of Attrition, Looks Like Trouble, Kicking King, just a few that spring to mind.

First Kinane then Fallon,Spencer, now Murtagh. Four of the best in ten years. Why should anyone give up a good career for Ballydoyle. What exactly is the problem with Aidan. Are all the jockeys impossible to get along with?Jamie refused to go to the gym to please Aidan.Ballydoyle is not passing the smell test.

To clarify, Spencer messed up too many big rides, Powerscourt being a classic example, Kinane lost the job after throwing away the Breeders Cup Classic on Giants Causeway, Fallon HAD to go, he was given numerous chances to clean up his act, but Murtaghs decision has me stumped. Maybe he doesnt like the fact that a 16 year old schoolkid is out-performing him in his own backyard??

Initially, I found it hard to believe that Zenyatta was that devoid of early pace, and I believed that the ‘blame’ lies squarely at the feet of Mike Smith for her defeat. However, after watching 100’s of replays, I think that she got there soon enough, had every chance to win, but just wouldnt go past. Its unreal the way she tends to drop herself out so much in her races, and I believe that she was just found out by a better horse on the day. Her record was outstanding though, and Id love to see her continue next season, but I have the feeling shes developing her own ideas about the game, and it would be extremely difficult to keep her mind on the job for another season.

Which brings me to the best Mare in the world, bar none. Goldikova… Just a pleasure to watch, she has form at a far greater level than Zenyatta ever achieved, and is just phenomenal. (also reminds me of just how good zarkava was) Her performance in winning the mile for a 3rd straight year was just unreal. Her turn of foot was scary, and any horse that can quicken so well, and leave the likes of Paco Boy looking ordinary, is something special. Poor old Paco Boy, he must be sick of the sight of Goldikovas rear-end!!!!

Two abiding memories i’ll take from this years BC, is Goldikovas demolition job, and Calvin Borrells attempted demolition job after the Marathon!!! This might sound silly, but its actually given this sport a massive publicity boost, which we all know it needs!!! As one commentator in the States said, regarding the fighting incident… "its not done hockey any harm’!!!! Class.

Really appalling news. Im just glad that the horse will be ok, but its left a huge void in racing.

Sorry to those moaning about me offering value on Tatatiano, but his most recent performance surely vindicates my opinion? Either way, wont be offering prices ever again, its not worth the abusive comments or hassle. However, i will offer my opinions on what price I believe a horse should be in a race. If Tatatiano wasn’t with Nicholls, he would be 33/1 for the Arkle, which would be an accurate reflection of his chances. He has everything to prove now, as his hurdle and chasing form is miles behind the principles on offer. Captain Cee Bees form is looking stronger by the day, andat this stage, looks the one to beat, although I will need to see him back jumping before wading in. Sizing Europe and Sommersby, remain the most solid choices.

    Mr.Wilson,

I sincerely hope that spiteful remark was not directed towards me. If it was, I just want to clarify my position. I dont take glee from seeing a horse fail, and if I sounded spiteful, I apologise. Im just reiterating what I said a long time ago; Tataniano hasn’t even earned a place at Cheltenham in my opinion, and is at least a good stone behind the likes of Captain Cee Bee, Sizing Europe, and Sommersby in my opinion. Also, as many other members have alluded to, his hurdle form is far, far inferior to what the others mentioned achieved. I believe even 14/1 is still far too short for what he has achieved. Before today, he had a lot to prove. Now, he has it ALL to prove. Regards…

Hi all, everyone good I hope? Ive been away a couple of weeks, guessing Ive missed lots!! Anyway, I was prepared to offer 20/1 a win for Tataniano in the Arkle, thats pretty skinny based on todays events!! I think it was ZARKAVA who wrote that Tataniano has the Arkle sewn up???? Said it countless times, il say it again; he hasn’t even earned a place in the line-up.

My own fancies, Sizing Europe and Somersby tick along nicely, while my e/w value, Zarrito, had an unfortunate experience last time out, which leaves unwanted question marks against him. However, the horse who won, An Cathaoir Mor, was well and truly beaten by Zarrito and Captain Cee Bee in a Novice Chase, and that form has a strong and solid look to it. Im going to have to back Captain Cee Bee now, because if he wins at Naas, he’ll probably be 11/4 come Cheltenham. So far, its the most interesting race at Cheltenham, along with the Champion Hurdle.

Big Bucks, Ive said it before, il say it again; The Fighting Fifth was the same for all the horses involved! And the quicker they go, the better Go Native is. His 2 most recent wins have shown what a devestating turn of foot he has, one that can carry him past stayers like Zaynar and Solwhit. He is the horse to beat, no doubt!!

Thanks. Im hoping to see Zaynar entered for the Stayers, I think he could really give Big Bucks a race.

Rich1985, Rubys and Paul Nicholls exact words: We dont know why he was beaten, he was ready for this, he got his own way out in front, and we expected him to win.

Im not saying he CANT win the Champion Hurdle, as it appears very open, but he, like Binocular, and to a lesser extent, Punjabi, have it all to prove now. The form horses as things stand are Go Native, Kyber Kim and Solwhit, in my opinion. As Ive said before, Im convinced Zaynar will be tapped for toe at a crucial point of the race, and the mare, VLV, has to earn the right to run, as I dont think beating Go Native, with everything stacked in her favour, gives her that. Go Native has shown the strongest form over the season, and unless something improves dramatically, or Dunguib runs, I wont be deserting him.

Bosranic, opinions is what this sport is all about, and dont get me wrong, I think Zenyatta is a fantastic mare, I just prefer RA!! But to say that Zenyatta is a ‘beautiful horse’ is really stretching it!!! Great horse that she is, she is one of THE most unattractive race-horses Ive ever seen!! A slightly better version of Nortons Coin!!!
