Ante-Post, Im not saying that Binocular is finished, but surely it seems he has regressed this year? If Henderson managed to get this animal home first in March, it would go down as an all-time great training feat. Im just praying that Dunguib stays the novice route!!!
I am really hoping that Dunguib goes for the Supreme Novices for a number of reasons. Im on him at 5/1 for the Supreme, Im on Go Native at 25’s and Kyber Kim at 40’s for the Champion! If he does run, I really just cant see anything beating him, he is a freak of an animal! At the same time, I would totally understand them running him now as he is 7 already. Not exactly a young horse, as Best Mate and Kauto Star were winning Gold Cups at that age.
Rich1985, just wondering about your comment regarding Celestial Halo; Just how was he unlucky in the International? He had the run of the race, and was simply beaten by a better animal on the day. Thats not unlucky, in my opinion!!

Media, as usual your posts are based on FACTS, and thus, are excellent and well appreciated!!! I can understand people being fans of Zen, but they should really get their facts straight.
I would probably have fancied Sublimity to beat Solwhit on better ground, as I think he was very unlucky at Leopardstown too. A friend of mine working for the yard, told me he has never been better. May be blind faith, I just love this horse though!!
I just don’t see her as a real contender, so I guess non would be my answer!! I think that Solwhit will be tough to beat, as the ground will be bottomless. I know, very un-original choice.
I have, RA is a better horse, simple as that!!!
And Zenyatta was never pushed along??? Im rolling in the aisles here mate! In the BC Classic, she was pushed along almost as soon as she left the gate, and believe me, she was all-out when she won. And again, you are wrong about Zenyatta being confirmed before STS was retired. They didnt confirm her until 2 days before the race, and thats a fact. Did her connections tell u something that we didnt know?? Didnt think so.
BB, do you believe that or do you think Murphy is just dodging the big-guns?? Maybe Im too cynical!!
Big Bucks, VLV isn’t running then? Do you know why?
Shaund, hes E/W value. And, he was never right last year, he still has the potential, and his jumping looks safer than Captain Cee Bees. Im not saying he will reverse form, but there are plenty of reasons why he might.
I think she HAS to beat them to be a serious Champion Hurdle horse, and I just cant see that happening. As Ive said a million times, I cant understand why Zaynar is not being aimed for the Stayers.
January 18, 2010 at 15:16 in reply to: Martin McGuiness set to become First Minister of Northern I #270627Republican movement is simple
Aim: To remove British Occupation of Northern Ireland and have a 32 County Ireland state. No religious intent what so ever…unlike the DUP who keep on about Catholics etc. Just so happens there is the religious divide between Unionist and Republicans.
I cant forsee any NI without Republican factions…..there is too much grief and hurt for there not to be. Problem is there very unintelligent folk, who cant see past the past so to speak
Wallace, rarely have I read something so inflammatory, hurtful and idiotic. I am a Republican from the Republic of Ireland, that does NOT make me a terrorist, and it certainly does NOT make me any less intelligent than blinkered bigots like you. I do not support terror or violence from ANY side, but if you want to go down that road, with your clueless comments, the Republican factions have been committing atrocities for about 40 years in Northern Ireland. Any chance you know why then??? I’ll give you a clue: 800 years of atrocities perpetrated against the Republic of Ireland and her people. As I said, I do NOT condone these atrocities and acts of terror, but sometimes, you have to fight fire with fire. I would love to see my country re-united as one, as I am a proud Irish Republican, but if this cannot be achieved by peaceful means, then it is not worth it. Does that make me an ‘unintelligent republican’ in your eyes?? And before you even start typing about principles, I am not betraying mine; My principles have always been that The Republic of Ireland should be one, but NOT at all costs. I will await your reply with interest, as I strongly feel that you owe me, and fellow Peaceful-Republicans, an apology for your appalling comments.
Can anyone tell me or give me a link to the entries for the World Hurdle? I cant seem to find them anywhere; maybe they haven’t been announced as yet?
Just browsing at Paddy Power prices for the Arkle; I may have found what I believe to be good e/w value. Noble Alan, at 40/1. Classy animal when things go right, and the better ground at Cheltenham will suit him much better than what he’s been running on. Any opinions anyone?
thehorsesmouth,
Quevega wasn’t that far off, but far enough! She never really looked like winning at Punchestown. Im not saying that VLV isn’t a good mare, just to keep things in perspective, thats all. I hope she lines up for your sake, and anyone who backed her, but personally, I dont see the point in it. In the mares race, its only really Quevega she has to beat, and she hasnt been seen in a long time!!Fist, Sea the Stars was flat to the boards in the Arc?? He was pricking his ears passing the winning post, NOT the actions of a horse whos flat-out. Zenyatta was only confirmed when her connections KNEW that STS and RA would not be there. Granted, she could only beat what was in front of her, but for you to think that she’ll go on to be a 140+ horse is ludicrous. IF her connections have the bravery to take on RA on Dirt, and NOT Firt, they will not see which way RA goes. Do u really think that Zen could give RA a 15 length start, like she did in the BC, and catch her? Not a prayer. This year, with Zen coming back, will only confirm that Zenyatta is a damn good mare, but that RA is the best mare EVER. If either of them goes on to earn such a lofty mark, it will be Rachel.
halfwaytoheaven,
You know what I mean, when I say 30 of the same fences! Im not saying its 30 straight-forward fences, but for an intelligant nutcase like Garde Champetre, you need more variety. I think his record over regulation fences reinforces my point, and his incredible record over Cross-Country. It keeps him interested. Dont get me wrong, if he took to Aintree, as crazy as this sounds, its actually very hard to see beyond him! He jumps, he stays, he has that undoubted touch of class, and would more than likely be attractively handicapped. But that if, is a HUGE IF!! Its been a combination of Nina, Enda and the unique Cross-Country courses, that have galvinised this horse, and kept him interested. But lets not forget, Nina was on board when he just didnt want to know at Fairyhouse! She is one of the best, but if Garde Champetre doesnt want to do something, then he wont, regardless of who is on-board!!!!
