Cracked a cannon bone I’m told which means it all over for him…very sad!!!
August 7, 2010 at 10:38 #311454Very sad, a horse coming into his own. Hopefully he’ll get well soon and have a long and happy life at stud.

So don't run, just like the others always do
August 7, 2010 at 11:05 #311458ah sad news, such a shame!

I can’t believe it. Really upset, angry…mixed feelings.
Great horses retired after one season and when you get a decent one kept in training this happens.
Like another of the horses i liked (Shamardal) we’ll never know what he could’ve done in France or America.
August 7, 2010 at 11:24 #311460Very bad news.

Hope the horse will be ok and if his racing career is over may he have many good years at stud.
August 7, 2010 at 11:39 #311462Very sad to hear this news, I was luck enough to be at Ascot for King George Day, one of the greatest performances of all-time.
Get well soon Harbinger.

Lucky you.
I didn’t think he was a superstar yet but he had a great chance of winning the Arc. I’m gonna be there and would love to have seen him there.
Betting suspended fof the Arc. Not sure why the Juddmonte betting is suspended though. He was never gonna beat Twice Over or Byword in a 1m2f race. Maybe so people can’t carry on laying him on Betfair (I genuinely don’t know how betfair works so excuse my ignorance).

You can’t say that with any certainty whatsoever Phil, it’s obviously just your opinion. The last betting I say had Harbinger as a short-priced favourite so obviously your opinion was different to many.
The Juddmonte is ran over 1m 2 and a half Furlong almost and a fast pace was almost assured (though this is just my opinion). I think Harbinger would have been very capable of winning. The sad fact is, now we’ll never know
August 7, 2010 at 12:28 #311474The
king George
Harbinger would’ve won the International easily.
Very sad news. Thats life!

I wish he could run and win against those and give us a star we’re lacking in middle distance races this year. I know he won’t run again though, hopefully Canford can annihilate evryone in his races and knowing he’s being kept in training is something to look forward to.

A very sad loss for racing, I sincerely hope the horse will be OK.
It’s been a bad year for those, like myself, who believe flat horses should be kept in training to 5 or 6.
This is very sad news. First Age Of Aquarius now Harbinger
August 7, 2010 at 14:04 #311491Obviously gutted for
Harbinger
and connections but also for Gingertipster who had got stuck into him for the Arc.Bad news all round!
August 7, 2010 at 14:21 #311493Really sad, but as long as Harbinger is OK that is all that matters.
August 7, 2010 at 20:01 #311556Such an awful shame. I’m not a huge fan of the flat but Harbinger’s recent performance was one that warmed the soul. So sad we’ll never see what he could have been.
August 8, 2010 at 11:04 #311685Hi All
Just read a report that he is "comfortable" after surgery. Although we may not see him again on the racecourse, at least he looks like he is going to be saved and enjoy himself at stud. - AuthorPosts
