Thanks Hein
and ‘N’
Just found a great Internet cafe a stones throw from where we are so spent half an hour looking at the card and hopefully these will run well tomorrow. Taking a chance with my NAP this week Expressiy seems to be improving with each run.
3.05 .. Zaman
340 .. EXPRESSIY *NAP*
Finished in front of Beautiful Memory (3rd) at Chelmsford 5th Oct 2017 and is better drawn tomorrow, so could get even closer to Winter Lightning this 3rd time of meeting her. I think she could win this.
4.15 .. Top Score
4.50 .. Vazirabad
Sheikhzayedroad – Win on each and Rev.Forecast
5.35 .. Don’t Give Up
(next best)
6.00 .. Mountain Hunter
Baroot – Win on each and Rev. ForecastThat’s it short and sweet.. The Cafe owner Rafa is into his horses too he came to see what I was up to and he also likes Vazirabad in the 4.50 (maybe he knows something
hope so)Time up..good luck everyone.
Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 28, 2018 at 18:18 #1344368most books have now priced up for tomorrows meeting
Not playing at short odds but Zaman @ around 10/11 could well be the play for the shortie backers, tad unlucky last time he could well turn the form around with Wasim
Nine pound covers the who field in the 7F handicap at 4.15
I will be playing two EW Van Der Decken at 11/2 and Silver Line 7s
A good friend is really sweet on the chances of Manahir who is available at around 25s (PP)In the G3 14f event I must admit I thought I would get slightly bigger than the 9/4 on offer for Rare Rhythm (did miss 5/2).
In the lucky last I again have played two EW taking the 7s Kidmenever 1234 1/5(1/4 odds is around but cant get on with VC) and an old fav in Banksea 5s 1234 1/4 odds
Good luck to all and lets hope we can bag a few winners
February 28, 2018 at 20:51 #1344382After a couple of places last week on a not very good card I think the same could be said of this card so again minimum stakes and all each way
3.05 EL CHAPO 14/1
4.15 ABOVE N BEYOND 14/1
4.50 NATURAL SCENERY 16/1
6.00 KIDMENEVER 7/1Good Luck Everyone
February 28, 2018 at 21:24 #1344384None of the shorties this week are screaming out to me so I’m looking at a couple of each way plays.
415 – Above N Beyond – Ran a lovely race from after 511 days off the track and if he doesn’t suffer the dreaded ‘bounce’ then there’s reason for him to overturn the form of last time against Oh This Is Us and Top Score at odds of 14/1.
600 – Banksea can overturn his recent run against Mountain Hunter with a pull in the weights and looks better value at 5/1 compared to the 11/4 for the latter. Grey Britain has always shown some promise from his 2 year old days and has won a listed race over 10f. He’s been gelded which could straighten him out a bit as he has looked a bit quirky in the past. 20/1 was fair game and with the winter weather system still picking up pace on these shores he would be an appropriately named winner.
I can’t say I’m expectant of having a winner but I would hope that a couple of them could run a big enough race to reach the frame. Whatever, good luck err’body
February 28, 2018 at 22:50 #1344388In the 4.15 race I feel Top Score is short enough at between 2/1 and 11/4, considering it’s a Handicap. He has won over course and distance twice but that was a year ago and although he was second to Oh This Is Us last time, the first five home there all take each-other on again here and it would be a brave person to back them to finish in the same order this time.
I do feel Steady Pace has a shade of class and he usually runs pretty well. He kept some good company earlier in his career but two things temper enthusiasm. Firstly his strike rate is not so good. He probably doesn’t catch a break from the Handicapper because he places so often and you can forgive that somewhat. The other worry is the form of his two races in recent times has worked out terribly. No winners and only 3 places from 42 starts and that is bogging really.
Overall, I get the feeling Steady Pace is likely to place but will probably find one or two too good. He may be a better play each-way than Top Score to win it.
The one I fancy to come out on top from the aforementioned “Famous Five” rematch is Van Der Decken. He is more lightly race and has put in two solid efforts in third this year. He is a similar type of 6F/7F horse to Steady Pace and has done his best work in the finish of his 6F and then 7F runs, hinting that he may just be cherry ripe to catch them late this time.
I expect a decent run from Van Der Decken at 5/1 and he’s the pick at double the odds he was last time when favourite.
I’ll try a wee reverse forecast with Steady Pace, who is best priced 15/2.
Van Der Decken (Nap) 5/1 to win for William Buick.
Van Der Decken/Steady Pace reverse forecast
Good Luck everybody.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
February 28, 2018 at 23:28 #1344390Evening all.
I am amazed that you can get some 13/8 about Vazirabad winning the Nad Al Sheba trophy. Dont get me wrong there are some decent horses in the race but this fella is a machine
– In 19 starts hes only finished out of the top two, twice!
– Hes two out of three at Meydan.
– He was placed second in this race last year to a lovely horse called Beautiful Romanace (not to get confused with Memory ;-)). He later reversed that form on World Cup night.
– Hes a consisent Group one performer.
– Regular pilot Christophe S is booked to ride.Sold yet?
I appreciate that it will be his first race for some time and he may be a bit rusty but im guessing thats factored into his price. He stays all day but can sometimes switch off when he sits at the back (a great example being WC night last year) off the pace.
Not much fun in tipping a fav but if I was a bookie id have him odds on, probably 10/11 5/6.
***************************************
Not much else to get excited about on the rest of the card. Zaman and Winter Lightning should both win. Dont Give Up is fairly solid but I do think Oisin will win on Albaster soon enough. The first Arab race looks good again. Id say Paddys Day should win at 2/1.Good luck all and hope everyone grabs a few winners pre Cheltenham, World Cup Night and when the exciting flat returns!
March 1, 2018 at 01:31 #1344393The trouble with Vazirabad for me it that he looked a shoo in for last year’s renewal, started odds-on and got beaten.
He’s mostly won weak group 1 races and a glance at his starting prices tells the story about some of the contests he has won.
Rare Rhythm has a few pounds to find with Vazirabad but he may be a tad faster than the French horse, who often seems to win narrowly and doesn’t have the wins at 14F that you would wish to see to warrant a bet.
They are both a shade tight for me given that there are questions on both of them. I would want 3/1 at least for Rare Rhythm. Probably sit this one out or work a treble in if I do get odds I like.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 1, 2018 at 07:26 #13443973/1 and I’m in on Rare Rhythm for an each way play but like you say it’s just a bit too tight at the moment.
I’ve been done by a few overnight prices over the Dubai carnival period. The hardest one to take was Light The Lights winning at 5/1 when 11/4 overnight. I couldn’t bring myself to go win only at the time.
Never mindMarch 1, 2018 at 09:15 #1344399yeah as I said earlier agree with steve/chivers 5/2 at the time (missed that) but that was to skinny for me to play EW, 3s I would have played EW.
March 1, 2018 at 09:30 #1344400Wasim NR
March 1, 2018 at 12:44 #1344423Rare Rhythm is proving stronger in the betting and you can snag 7/4 on Vazirabad, which looks the bait for a classic honey trap.
Had to laugh at the tipster on ATR who has Winter Lightning as his banker of the day at 1/4 Fav and then adds Zaman at 4/7 as his “Eyecatcher”
How the heck do they get these gigs? Makes you wonder if it’s the same guy who plays Captain Obvious in the TV advert?
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

March 1, 2018 at 13:48 #13444394.15 – Salateen has popped up at a big price a couple of times in the last 12 months including over C&D last Feb but one I like at around 20/1 is Manahir who pulled very hard last time out over a mile behind Hors De Combat and in the end did well to finish 4th. His 2 previous runs weren’t great to be fair but they were both on dirt and the quicker pace over 7f might see him grab a place.
6.00 – Baroot showed a good turn of foot to win nicely LTO over 9f having travelled wide for the most part. Drawn 2 today and with Soumillon in the saddle again I can see him pouncing late. I would also give a mention to Born To Be Alive who ran well in finishing just behind Banksea 3 weeks ago.

Shave the beard off and it’s a dead ringer for Liz Price
They could of thrown in Ronnie O’Sullivan at 1/8 and Barcelona at 2/11 to make a four fold
lightweights……
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
March 1, 2018 at 15:04 #1344443As always I placed my bets last night.
Took 4/5 on Zaman but can’t believe how short he is
March 1, 2018 at 15:17 #1344444Good start but nothing to celebrate really.
Other bets:
3:40 – Winter Lightning to beat Expressiy @ 3/1 in the next4:15 – Silver Line @ 5/1
4:50 – Vizarabad @ 6/4
5:25 – Alabaster @ 7/2
6:00 – Mountain Hunter @ 2/1
March 1, 2018 at 15:53 #1344448hope you had a few bob on EW Jac
