What on earth happened to Winter Lightning? haven’t been able to view from my mobile..JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 1, 2018 at 16:22 #1344451blimey Jac is that another winner? well done Top Score backers
March 1, 2018 at 16:34 #1344455After timing a bit…Chucked a tenner win treble (all blue) on earlier for some fun/interest, currently a bit snowed in at home today.
Top Score 5-2
Don’t Give Up 6-4
Banksea 5-1GL all.
March 1, 2018 at 16:45 #1344456Ran wide whole trip Triptych.
Whats the betting whinge merchant Bin Surror will be crying his eyes out to anyone who will listen, at how Buick out rode Cosgrave at the start. He will not see it that way, he’ll be crying that a fellow blue cost his filly the race.
I actually love it when Appleby so regularly outpoints Bin Surror… Sheik Mo should jog him on for sure IMO! (I do realise this will not happen).
March 1, 2018 at 16:55 #1344458Oh dear Christophe…
March 1, 2018 at 16:58 #1344459Shows what I know….roll on WC night!
Well done winners
March 1, 2018 at 16:59 #1344460Soumillon you utter knob
Worst ride I’ve seen in 2018. Was taking the piss with the other jockeys and Buick sweeps round the outside to get first run. Shambles.
March 1, 2018 at 17:00 #1344461What a stupid, arrogant ride by Soumillon
March 1, 2018 at 17:02 #1344462I’ve never liked him. He’s an arragant show off.
March 1, 2018 at 17:02 #1344463That was horrific.
March 1, 2018 at 18:16 #1344467Yep, he thought he had them all covered, didn’t he
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026

Thanks for the low down on Winter Lightning, sounds like the draw might not have helped, but Rayya very impressive and Expressiy continues in her roll as bridesmaid, just didn’t have the finishing speed needed.
@nwalton
Great bet on Rare Rhythmn definitely the class act of the day.
Kidmenever another great choice.
Not much racing while I’m away so time to enjoy that unusual yellow ball in the sky.
Home next Wednesday in time to do this all again.
Well done if you beat the bookie today, I just managed to keep head above water..Ja c
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 1, 2018 at 23:08 #1344489My sole bet was rubbish, Van Der Decken just couldn’t get a position early and never travelled before Buick accepted it and let him come home in his own time.
My pick was half a length behind today’s winner Top Score last time and was a pound better off today, so he should have been thereabout if running his race today.
Winter Lightning never seemed as comfortable today, the jockey was doing plenty of looking around behind early enough in the race. Nothing to do with the draw or anything, she just never fired.
Rayya is a lovely, easy mover and while I expected Winter Lightning to confirm form today, Rayya did keep on well last time once Winter Lightning came past. I think it’s a pure case of Winter Lightning not running here race today and I reckon she has run close to two stones below form today. I am basing this on her only holding a filly rated 75 on ORs by a nose.
They need not be sending Winter Lightning to Newmarket based on that show and I think they will be hoping a reason shows up for the dismal effort.
I think the Soumillion balls-up is overshadowing what was a good turn of foot from Rare Rhythm today. Christophe may have underestimated his field but I am not sure he would have won anyway. Rare Rhythm shows a good burst to take the lead and I think he is a mixture of tired, idling and perhaps even a little green once taking control. Vazirabad does have time to get back up and although he closes down, Rare Rhythm keeps on well enough that the jockey accepts it close home, with Vazirabad perhaps tiring a little as well. The time was fast on a day where all the others were slower than standard, so it is not as if Soumillion got suckered in a really slowly run affair. Rare Rhythm may do well in the Sydney Cup if heading there next.
Well done to all winners today. It looked a trappy card and with two odds-on shots beaten it was far from easy finding them today. Even Captain Obvious’s 1/4 each-way went down, didn’t even land his place part at 1/16

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 2, 2018 at 06:39 #1344503Thanks Jac, looks like Rare Rhythm stays in Dubai for The Dubai Gold Cup
March 2, 2018 at 13:34 #1344551Happy enough with Kidmenever winning
A couple of the others finished just out of the places but to be honest am happy I kept to minimum stakes as there were a couple of odd results!!March 4, 2018 at 06:00 #1344723So far these Carnival racing days haven’t panned out too great for me, I don’t know how you all feel?
So I better keep my feet still and stick to my first AP bet of the season which is Blue Point in the Al Quoz.
I see him as a real penalty kick and I desperately hope he will confirm this in reality!
In four weeks time, we will be smarter..
March 4, 2018 at 12:15 #1344744good luck hein with Blue Point
Raymo great result with Kidmenever, just a shame I don’t get BOG
No racing Thursday, but we have Super Saturday this week
