@MiddleOfMarch
Pretty sure that last race on the card is Arab racing. The prize of 70,000 USD was way lower than the two Group 2 contests on the card. Which would be very odd for a normal Group 1 race.
I’d never heard of any of the entries either.
I would doubt there will be betting for that race.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
January 30, 2018 at 12:08 #1339881final decs now up on RP site. Steve is correct it is an arab race.It is not shown on the RP site, but the race has now been moved to race one on the card (2.30 our time)
January 30, 2018 at 14:19 #1339909Cheers lads. I did wonder why a group one would be last.
Arab racng explains it.
January 30, 2018 at 23:13 #1339953Had a quick look today and so far have picked 3 for a £5 Patent…
3.05 …. Bravo Zolo
3.40 …. DUBAI ONE ** NAP**
6.00 …. EynhallowBravo Zolo is going to appreciate the extra distance having been beaten favourite twice running over 7 furlongs here. He was running on at the finish in both races having got tapped for speed by D’bai last time out with not a lot of room when needed.
Ran an exciting race at Newmarket in a Class 1 Listed over a mile to hold back Lord Glitters in an tight finish (neck).Sticking my neck out a bit with Dubai One but Saeed Bin Surroor shipped her over pretty quickly after her last win in the UK and her name makes you think she is highly regarded, now let’s see if she can run….

Eynhallow formerly with Roger Charlton is having his first run for Charlie Appleby, I saw his last run in October on the Rowley Mile when he came 2nd to Charlie Appleby’s talented First Nation, they both came rattling down the Rowley Mile and First Nation took up the race 1 furlong from home winning by 3/4 length.
This looks a fairly weak race and if he has adapted to his new surroundings Eynhallow could run a really good race and hopefully win.Looking forward to this, good luck ‘N’ and all players..Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 31, 2018 at 11:11 #1339987Benbatl will surely be a warm order. The ATR price guide is showing 7/4 but that seems unlikely.
I have been looking at Jungle Cat in the other Group 2 over 7F. He had quite a good time of it in Meydan last season, although not quite cutting it in the Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint. The trip may be a question here as his win over 7F was when odds-on. He did win easily though and he has run quite well at the trip in a better race. D’Bai’s last win hasn’t panned out very well and I expect a solid run from Jungle Cat at hopefully better value odds.
I suspect Jungle Cat may be my main bet this week.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
January 31, 2018 at 18:39 #1340020I think a couple of races are watch rather than bet races so have only bet in four of the races.
And some prices vary massively at the minute maybe they will equalize somewhat come the morning.3.40
JORDAN SPORT 5/1
4.50
NOAH FROM GOA 5/1
5.25
DRAFTED 9/1
DESERT FORCE 11/2
6.00
JANZOON 10/1
CARBON DATING 16/1All backed each way and as I say some prices are crazy IMO.
Janzoon won so well last time out I could not let it go unbacked at that price even though it is running over further.
Carbon Dating ran over too short a trip last time out but still ran well and could be a huge price!Good Luck Guys and Jac
January 31, 2018 at 23:06 #1340054I’m 0/14 from the last two weeks at Meydan. I fear it’ll become my Southwell where I continue to plug away at it before realising after a few weeks too many I can’t get a grip of the form there and abandon ship. But ‘god’ loves a trier so I shall carry on..
Multiples mainly.
Race 1 – Benbatl @ 1/1
Surely he can’t be beaten? Looks too obvious so I looked elsewhere. I backed him antepost for the Epsom Derby at one stage and he ran ok. Looks a natural in Dubai. But he really seems too obvious. How is he not odds on everywhere? I had a quick look at his opposition in case I would find a reason why he wasn’t as short as I expected. Kept looking. Looked some more. And then looked even more. But I just could not find an alternative. So he’s in to start off my multiples.
Race 2 – Dubai One @ 10/3
I like this horse. Like Jac, I think he could be a decent horse for Godolphin and I expect him to run well here. He’s looked a decent type at Lingfield and they seem to excel with horses like him when sent abroad. That price is good enough for me. Multiples and a single bet at 10/3.
Race 3 – Kimbear @ 4/5
I would expect Kimbear to be 2/7 if Boynton wasn’t in this. But with the latters injury issues, I think it would need to be a fantastic training performance to have him beat the favourite here. So I think 4/5 is probably value. Bet365 have priced up all three of my selections at best price so far. Multiples only for him here though.
Race 4 – Championship @ 3/1 (NAP)
For me, this is the race of the carnival so far. The favourite broke the 7f track record in a handicap last time out and looked like being one to watch for the next few weeks. However, I really like Championship. He’s won two group twos in his last two starts and also smashed a track record (the mile) in his last run. He is coming off a break but that didn’t stop him when destroying a decent field off a 504 day absence. 3/1 is a very fair price in my eyes. A good race though. Multiples and a single.
Race 5 – Keystroke @ 11/2
Tough handicap to find the winner here. Done a small bet on Keystroke as I have always been a fan of him over here. Smallest bet of the day for me.
Race 6 – Eynhello @ 6/1
Like Jac, I really like this horse and the move to Appleby will only improve him. He may not be the first string for this race but 6/1 is a chance to take.
Good luck to all playing
January 31, 2018 at 23:40 #1340062Good luck MOM
I was very loath to take on Benbatl in the first race it was just the extra distance that drew me to Bravo Zolo I’m hoping it will be to his advantage.Just a couple of points MOM .. Dubai One is a filly
and its reassuring that she’s already beaten the older colts including Tropics which means she is highly thought of,really hope she comes home for us tomorrow
I was thinking she was going to be around 14/1 like she was last week but of course she was only a reserve. Also good luck with Eynhallow in the last.. to run so close to a decent horse like First Nation must put him in with a great chance and looking through the whole field he has
the best credentials to win this.. fingers crossed.Championship has a great chance along with Keystroke who I backed a couple of weeks back, but leaving out at my peril tomorrow, he could spring a surprise if he’s on a going day..good luck with them.
Decided to just stick with the three horses tomorrow and hope to get one or two from that.
Hope Jungle Cat does you proud Steve.,if my first two come home I will have a small wager on him.
Raymo .. you look to have some nice priced horses sorted out… just pray that judge doesn’t turn up here if you pick a few winners
or any of us come to that LOL.Will look out for your choices ‘N’ and here’s hoping for a good day between us.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 31, 2018 at 23:52 #1340064I just did a double, Benbatl 11/10 and Jungle Cat 7/1.
I think Jungle Cat will either like the 7F or not. For that reason there is no each-way. I am just hoping he’s that bit faster than D’Bai at good odds.
Championship is respected but he’s been off the best part of a year and may not quite be at his peak.
Hard to oppose Benbatl I feel and I’ll have a wee forecast with Bravo Zolo. It won’t pay a fortune but it looks the way to go.
Not really covered the other races yet, we’ll see.
Best of luck everybody

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
January 31, 2018 at 23:56 #1340066Won’t be betting on the meeting but will put my selections up for the craic of it.
3.05: Brave Zolo 5/1 – i was typing up my reasoning for Benbatl to win but have changed my mind…always dangerous….He’s up 2f in trip, and this should suit….his beating of Lord Glitters is very decent form. On Benbatls 3yo form (some classic form amongst it) he should be winning, but really were the 3yos a great bunch? Will take him on
3.40: Tupi 10/1 E/W Has some strong sprinting form in the book. Better form arguably than the boys in blue, but we know they are lethal here. Willing to chance him at the price….he didnt run badly here back to 6furlongs after being campaigned for a while at a mile….much more of a sprint campaign this year should suit him for this race.
415: Boynton 3/1- He has the Yank to beat…gets 3 pounds and is classier than the horses the yank beat the last time…does have some nice form since his layoff.
4.50: D’bai 9/4- Broke course record, i think that form is nice enough. Championship brings the best form, but i think this fella could improve past him.
5.25: The Grape Escape 16/1 E/w- Overpriced for me and should run better returning to 7f…Should outrun his odds for sure.
6.00: Huge Future 9/1 e/w- i always liked this horse. The gelding operation could be a positive. i think hes overpriced on quite a few pieces of his form. If he is fit enough which is a risk, he should run well.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 1, 2018 at 06:36 #1340082pretty lame effort on my part this week, really do fancy a few at the head of the market
I cant get away from Benbatl in 3.05 took the evens (although I see PP/Betfair 11/10 this morning)
4.50 Was again most impressed with D’Bai turn of foot when winning here three weeks ago. Could well get a lovely toe into the race from last season’s winner Championship I took the 2s
Finally Gold Star in the last at 7/4,again caught the eye coming from a long way back, when just failing to get up.
So not the greatest selections but fingers crossed.Good luck to Jac with Dubai One (flagged up weeks ago) and to everyone else, for making this a decent and informative thread)
February 1, 2018 at 07:28 #1340086Nwalton, I have the same three so we can cry together if all fails.
11/10 looked generous for Benbatl as he doesn’t have much to beat here. This will help him tick along toward the group 1 on Super Saturday.
D’Bai looked clever last time and I would like to see that turn of foot again. I would be disappointed if he couldn’t beat a horse who has been off for quite a while now in Championship.
Gold Town was a bit short overnight but this is technically a drop in class and he has Mr. Soumillon on board. Probably my least fancied of the 3 with the race looking a bit more open than the other two.
Good luck everyone. I have a feeling that someone on here is a fan of Dubai One, I can’t quite put my finger on who that is though.
February 1, 2018 at 08:24 #1340088Good luck Chivers, Jack and ‘N’ ….it all looks so easy until after the race but you can’t blame us all for trying.
This thread is a little ray of sunshine on a rainy day at the moment and how happy I felt to see The Lincoln 2018 Thread start up..thank you nwalton
JacBeen trying to find out what mad flat fanatic thinks Dubai One might have a squeak today but for the life of me I can’t figure it out Chivers.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 1, 2018 at 15:16 #1340128benbatl did that nicely, I must say though I do hate backing short priced ones. Well done other Ben backers
Good luck to Dubai One and her fanatic, I am sitting this one out and will just cheer her home
February 1, 2018 at 15:49 #1340131Well done Benbatl followers

Just held on thank God but sets me up nicely for the day!!February 1, 2018 at 16:18 #1340142well done raymo, you can sit back and relax for rest of the card
