July 27, 2020 at 17:12 #1495242Just the one bet tomorrow. This horse is a future Group 1 winner..

July 28, 2020 at 08:59 #1495312One more for today. I am sure Ironclad is better than an 85-rated horse.
£25ew Ironclad – 9-2 – 3.30 Ayr lost

July 29, 2020 at 09:27 #1495484A great win for Space Blues yesterday who looks every inch a Group 1 winner-in-waiting now.
Just the one race for me today. This looks as good a Sussex as there has been for a while and any one of the field could win. I have a feeling that this years crop aren’t quite so good and they are taking on two elite performers in Circus Maximus and Mohaather. Both have. helped me out recently and I’m not going to dessert either of them. One has drifted the other has shortened considerably so I’ll back them both to win and do a little forecast. Should be a great race anyway.
£100 win Mohaather – 10-3 – Goodwood 3.15 winner
£50 win Circus Maximus – 11-2 – Goodwood 3.15 lost
£15 rev f/c winner"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
July 29, 2020 at 11:15 #1495498Well done with Space Blues Joni you didn’t have to worry once he hit the front.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 29, 2020 at 14:12 #1495540Thanks Jac! Yes he was very impressive.
One more late bet today. Encipher has drifted to a huge price for a horse that ran in the Dante last time.
£25ew Encipher – 11-1 – Goodwood 2.15 lost

July 29, 2020 at 15:40 #1495566It’s not often you get it exactly right but nice when you do!! What a fantastic race and how Mohaather won it from there I’ll never know. Kameko definitely the hard luck story.

A great day yesterday and I could watch that Sussex Stakes over and over again. It was some performance from Mohaather. To basically be stopped in his tracks 2 furlongs out, have to come around a field of quality milers and still win going away has to mark him done as pretty special. I’d be very surprised if he is beaten again in his career. He is all class. The runner-up ran his heart out as usual and is a solid benchmark. The 3rd had every chance and just came up against two tough, quality 4-year-olds. I think he could do with running in that 7f Group 1 in France next. Kameko was seriously unlucky and finished full of running. I’d like to see him run in the Juddmonte International next. He’d take some beating I think. The only sour note was the tactics of Ballydoyle. It was like watching the Tour de France. You had the yellow jersey being protected by the domestique’s. Clearly Vatican City was only there to get in the way. Job done, but not nice to watch.
I’m nicely up for the week now and don’t want to be giving it back so just a couple of bets in the 2 best races today. Who know’s what to make of that Derby form? It was such an unsatisfactory race and the market suggests that English King was the best of the also-rans but I think it might be worth taking one more chance with Mogul. He is clearly well regarded and Ryan didn’t give him a hard race at Epsom. He was clear of EK until the last 100 yards that day and I think he might run a big race now that (apparently) he is properly fit. I think he may have more speed than one or two of the others. I would be on Al Aasy but for the penalty but I still think he could be the main danger.
The Nassau looks a good race and any one of them could win. I can’t desert my old friend Nazeef who has done nothing but improve and could be even better over this trip and on this ground. Clearly the recent French Oaks winner is a danger but the other one I like at a price is One Voice who was desperately unlucky last time and will be fresher than most.
£50 win Mogul – 11-2 – Goodwood 2.45 winner
£50 win Nazeef – 3-1 – Goodwood 3.15 lost
£25 win One Voice – 16-1 – Goodwood 3.15 lost
£20 win doubles"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
July 31, 2020 at 10:13 #1495834+£2,151.65
We were within a whisker of a £3,000 win double yesterday as One Voice was just denied by Fancy Blue. But at least it was another profitable day with Mogul winning.
Today there are a couple of sure-fire odds-on winners but the rest looks quite tricky so just a couple of smaller bets.
£25ew Mafia Power – 9-2 – Goodwood 1.15 lost
£25ew Agincourt – 14-1 – Goodwood 1.45 lost
£25ew Althiqa – 13-2 – Goodwood 1.45 placed
£25ew Montatham – 13-2 – Goodwood 2.45 non-runner
£5ew doubles and trebles"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
July 31, 2020 at 16:10 #1495884A couple of early bets for tomorrow. I’m annoyed to miss the 3-1 about Katara as I think she will take all the beating. I also think Cabaletta is a big price for the Lillie Langtry. She gets plenty of weight from the top 2 and has her ground.
£50 win Cabaletta – 7-1 – Goodwood 3.00 lost
£100 win Katara – 2-1 – Newmarket 3.15 winner"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
August 1, 2020 at 10:55 #1496020Just one more bet for me today. I am hearing good things about Tasfeeq and he could round of a great week the universally popular Marcus Tregoning who hopefully is now back in the big time where he belongs!
£25ew Tasfeeq – 4-1 – Goodwood 4.40 lost
£5 win trixie Tasfeeq, Cabaletta and Katara"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
August 1, 2020 at 19:44 #1496090Tasfeeq ran so green today Joni he didn’t know what he was supposed to do and I think he is a very nice prospect and one to follow.
In the last 2 furlongs when the penny dropped and he did get a chance to run in a straight line he had a lot of speed and It won’t be long before he gifts you a nice win.

Yes – just got in from my cricket match Jac and seen the race. He looked like he might be involved a furlong or so out but, as you say, he was very green. A nice win for Katara and a good week overall.
I’ll be in France for a couple of weeks so will probably go a little quiet but so far so good….

JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...August 2, 2020 at 12:39 #1496148Thanks Jac. A little one before we go. Formality ran a race full of promise last year but has been way off on his two starts this season. That means he now runs off a low mark and, back down in trip, could go well if back to last season’s form. My mate Cieran rides as well!!
£25 win Formality – 8-1 – 2.20 Sandown lost

August 5, 2020 at 19:19 #1496375I see Snowfall is running in a Group 3 tomorrow and is a very nice price. I think she is currently the number 1 filly at Ballydoyle so she’ll do for me.
£50ew Snowfall – 4-1 – Leopardstown 1.00 lost
