Yorkhill is best suited by 2 1/2 miles over hurdles and needs to be allowed to regain his confidence/recover from anything ailing him by sticking to that trip and discipline, starting off in a lower-key race. Whether that process can commence this season is questionable as Mullins has made a right mess of this horse.

Has he made a mess of the horse though, today wasnt just about trip, everything about his previous race form suggests that 2m over fences would be atleast within reach, especially how the horse races. Hes had an easy two races being all but pulled up, had enough break in between, i dont think his campaigning will leave a mark his jumping has been pretty good
Ill be quite surprised if something doesnt come out of it in terms of a problem, was just to bad to be true (although i dont think he would have won anyway)
His jlt win is about as good as it gets on form, so why would he need to revert to hurdles to show his best form
February 3, 2018 at 19:30 #1340669LOL Jasolong….Melon is a horse that’s been overhyped….
Yorkhill? Don’t be your usual daft self please

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 3, 2018 at 21:19 #1340689Day2
12.40- Half the Odds and Merie Devie. HTOs has been highly tried since her win in October at Galway. Her last run can be forgiven as the ground was awful. Whilst she has been well beaten on her starts vs the boys, she hasnt finished that far back, and she has finsihed close to some decent horses. Off 124 back against her own sex, i believe shes big at 20/1. Merie Devie also ran on horrific ground at Limerick and her run previous to that, would have her close in this.
1.15- Espoir D’allen should win this…i think he’s the best juvenile in Ireland. i fancy Mr Adjudicator to finish second, but i dont think the race is a betting opportunity.
1.50- I am not sure i have a huge view on this race. Samcro has looked great, but hasn’t quite danced the dance yet…he has his own hype to prove. Whilst Sharjah cantered to before falling at the last. Reel Steal ran a strange race at Xmas + possibly at 16s hes a nice price considering he was thereabouts at the finish.
2.25- i put up A Great View on here a few days a go, i think his case is strong. I know Total Recall is v well in but i will add Delta Work to this at 12s.
3.00- What a race! I really like Al Boum Photo and Monalee as horses, but i respect Invitation Only and Sutton Place…it wont be a betting race, but at the prices i like Al Boum Photo. Its possible Sutton Place will be trained to the minute for this, Cheltenham is not a certainty for him given his fragility. A race to savour.
3.35 Outlander is a tentative vote. I love Killultagh Vic, but he really has it to prove on his first run over fences in ages. Outlander has won 3 G1s here and i hope he can add to that tomorrow.
4.10- A tough race to pick for me…Polidam and Last Goodbye are the two i’ve landed on.
4.40- Not a race to get involved in for me…Colreevy has been well talked up so lets see.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 3, 2018 at 21:49 #1340700I agree with steeple. A poor display over 2m doesn’t say 2m 5f is key. Supasundae has won over 2m to be looked upon as a 3m key player. Perhaps Yorkhill needs a hurdle ? maybe a prep then 3m hurdle at aintree ?
February 3, 2018 at 22:04 #1340703Looking forward to seeing Samcro and espoir dallen tomorrow

Trebles across the card
February 3, 2018 at 23:11 #1340715Sharjah 4/1 e/w is a bet for me,
Saver on Duc de genievres 25/1 e/w
if samcro where to go off really short, ill probably lay a little, as much as visually he looks the most likely winner, his price is mainly hype and thats enough for me to usually opposeTotal recall as previously stated, hoping he exploits his mark
Alletrix in the first @ 7/1 e/w if the race hasnt come too soon
Sutton place 3/1 As previously mentioned.
February 3, 2018 at 23:20 #1340718Intrigued on Duc de Genievres, i didnt imagine him dropping in trip from his IRE debut?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 3, 2018 at 23:33 #1340719willie said last week he felt he needed a trip, but others saying shorter, so im surprised to see him over shorter, he shaped nicely and im not sure what to make of him
On jockey bookings the way they have been for the time being youd have to say hes the 3rd or 4th choice,
Its an excellent race in prospect, i wouldnt be surprised at almost any of them winning, if samcro demolishes this field, ill buy into the hype.
February 4, 2018 at 01:22 #1340731Yorkhill has some faithful followers for sure. I’ve heard just about every excuse in the book now.
The horse has made the trainer look clueless and that’s never a good sign.
5/1 with Unibet for the Champion Hurdle? Dear Oh Dear. Mickey Mouse could price him up better than that. Loonybet are 3/1 Faugheen. Sweet Jesus, who is pricing these runners up? Walter Mitty?
Unibet also go 7/1 Melon and 8/1 Min for the Champion Hurdle. ITV Racing should be tackling that ridiculous set of prices. Really pathetic, rip off odds, an insult to the punters.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
February 4, 2018 at 06:35 #134073712:40 – Barra @ 28/1 EW
1:15 – Espoir Dallen @ 10/11
1:50 – Debuchet @ 14/1 EW
2:25 – Total Recall @ 5/4
3:00 – Sutton Place @ 10/3
3.00 – Tombstone @ 25/1 EW
3:35 – Outlander @ 8/1
4:10 – Sutton Manor @ 10/1
4:40 – Relegate @ 10/1February 4, 2018 at 08:59 #1340743Betvictor lengthen the odds option have Samcro 11/10 to win by 3 lengths or more at this current time. That is a good price for one considered banker material (if you do consider him a banker).
February 4, 2018 at 10:04 #1340755Good luck today folks, some belting races. Agree with Jack that the 3:00 is a cracker, with some real value on offer too.
12:40 Canelie
13:15 Espoir D’Allen
13:50 Sharjah with place saver
15:00 Al Boum Photo, Rathvinden
15:35 Outlander
16:10 Sutton Manor, Hell’s KitchenFebruary 4, 2018 at 11:48 #1340774The Flogas is a headache. Elliot needs at least 3 winners today and I think this will be a big one for him. Mullins is very strong here so if Sutton Place can get it done he’ll be delighted. Rathvinden each way for me.
Gold Cup is another head scratcher. Outlander has the c&d form; recon he’ll be in the money. Think Djakadam is a great price at 8/1; gonna chance that. A Patrick Mullins each way double
February 4, 2018 at 13:05 #1340786I think Ham has the right idea in the Deloitte. Sharjah e/w seems very much the bet now he’s drifted to 9/2. Realistically I feel he’s the only horse who could defeat Samcro and baring a fall he should finish in the first 3.
February 4, 2018 at 13:55 #1340791Samcro, what a machine
