Hope this Gold Cup is a good race. Here we go…
February 4, 2018 at 15:37 #1340827Different tactics Minella Rocco.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 4, 2018 at 15:45 #1340829Absolutely gutted regarding killultagh vic
February 4, 2018 at 15:45 #1340830Absolutely gutted; backed Kilultagh Vic. We should all be here now welcoming a proper Gold Cup contender but instead it’s utter devastation.
February 4, 2018 at 15:47 #1340832Hes up which is great news
February 4, 2018 at 15:51 #1340833Yes good to see him up and Anibale Fly too. Think KV was just down a bit shook and winded. Pity as his jumping had improved throughout the race. Our Duke didn’t have the revs to get back in the race after his mistake.
Well done Edwulf, JOB and Derek O’Connor, and VtC too.
February 4, 2018 at 15:52 #1340834I had no money involved in this race but I was genuinely gutted when Killutagh Vic fell. He was in the process of putting in a very special performance. Would have sped away to win by 8/10 lengths in my opinion. Should be second favourite for the gold cup. Good return for Djakadam, and outlander was excellent again. But fair play to Joseph o Brien and Derek O Connor. This win looked a long way off when the horse collapsed on the run in at Cheltenham last year
February 4, 2018 at 15:57 #1340835KV would probably have won, but only probably. No way “8/10 lengths”.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 4, 2018 at 15:57 #1340836KV must have a bit about him to be travelling so well after jumping fairly shoddily for the first half of the race. Didn’t look too awful a fall so hope he OK.
February 4, 2018 at 15:59 #1340837I think you could say he definitely would have won, not probably, the distance, who knows…
Hope hes ok and we get to see him again
February 4, 2018 at 16:01 #1340838You have your view ginger, I have mine. I base it on the way he usually finishes his races, and the ease at which he was travelling when fell. Maybe not quite 8/10
February 4, 2018 at 16:04 #1340840Maybe my crying pocket talking but I too felt KV was going to scoot clear.
2018 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner?
February 4, 2018 at 16:04 #1340841I had backed him Wexford, but I’m just relieved to see him back on his feet. I put him in
Bob’s Ten To Follow 2 days back, I thought he would take this and hoped he had every chance
in the Gold Cup. I hope he is found sound, I thought it looked a heavy fall . I hope he
hasn’t lost his GC chance this year.February 4, 2018 at 16:06 #1340842I’d written off his chance because of his long lay-off and inexperience, but if K Vic had stood up it would have been an astonishing performance; jumping was v poor on the first circuit, as you might expect ob his 3rd run over fences, but came to win his race v smoothly. Hope he is Ok + uninjured, and remains a possible for the GC
February 4, 2018 at 16:07 #1340843Firstly i hope they check him over and hes found to be fine, horse does not deserve that
And secondly i hope your right charles, ive been backing him all season for the GC
February 4, 2018 at 16:11 #1340847If KV is 100% fine tomorrow morning then he must have a big shout of winning the Gold Cup at Cheltenham. He has bundles of talent but I won’t lie; his jumping needs to be better and if I’m being brutally honest I thought he was going to fall at some point after seeing jump the first – just a crying shame it was at the last with the race at his mercy.
February 4, 2018 at 16:42 #1340848Particularly feel for BigG and green who put him in their 10 to follow yesterday..but the main thing is that he tests sound after that fall and he’ll be a force to be reckoned with next time he runs.
It’s been a Festival of highs and lows, yesterday Yorkhill and Faugheen today KV let himself down when victory was within his grasp, that’s the risk with NH that you don’t get with the flat.
Joseph O’Brien is definitely bringing the Ballydoyle magic with him, shall we all change our names to O’Brien it could be the key to success.
