Very impressive indeed.
I suppose the only question mark left about Samcro is the ground. It’s heavy there today and it was heavy the last time. If he can win at Cheltenham on genuinely good ground then I think the world’s his oyster.
Very disappointed by Sharjah there, not sure what the reason for such a lacklustre run was. Maybe he found the ground a bit too much and is probably one to keep to a sounder surface going forward.
Samcro : shades of Golden Cygnet the way he won there . This horse is earmarked to go jumping . I hope connections stick to hurdles for a little while yet . Potential superstar .
Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
Samcro appeared, to my eyes at least, to be tying up on the run-in, instead of stretching further away from the opposition. That reflects the owner’s pre-race comments, which suggested that the run would be needed. There’s a lot more to come from him yet.
Have you ever seen a horse pull so hard over 3 miles and win with that in hand? I backed the 2nd and thought I was well in 2 furlongs out.
Fair play Total Recall
Well to be fair he was running off a mark 31 pounds below his chase mark but yes it was a very impressive performance from Total Recall
Nice to see people jumping on the hype.
As I said in October on the Neptune thread, he wins whatever novice he wants.
When was the last novice this exciting?
I love to see a horse jump like that all the way round after a bad fall. Roll on Cheltenham, the RSA should be a cracking event
