A few very attractive prices about just now and without much of a writeup a few ive taken
Total recall 4/1 in the william fry, he was as big as 8/1 last week but sadly missed out on it, hes shortening by the hour right now, surely has to walk this off 125 lol
Sutton place 3/1in In the flogas, again there was some 7/2 about but i missed that also, even though al boum photo and monalee are in this, over this distance on softish ground (which he needs) has to be a good thing in, if the ground turned up anywhere near good hes a definite non runner and it looks like theres a posibillity it might, so havent went crazy.
Sharjah 6/4 In the deloitte, he drifted slightly when samcro was being touted as coming back to 2m, but since hes on the drift and shortening again for the 2m6 race, sharjah still sitting at 6/4, mengli khan going straight to cheltenham, race could cut up a fair bit although 6/4 is short hes worth throwing in a few multiples, theyv said he comes here (yes it is mullins so you dont need to remind me)
Stormy ireland 7/4 In the juvenile again she was impressive on testing ground lto and not sure what to make of it yet, although mullins has clearly said shes the most exciting juvenile he has atm and theres been a few decent ones, really like espoir d’allen, but giving 7lbs to a potentially smart filly might prove to be a big ask at this stage
Killultagh vic 7/1 In the gold cup looks a nice price, but i may just observe and hope for a good run as i have enough invested for the cheltenham version already, if road to respect wins well its likely hes going to be close to fav for cheltenham, looks a good race in prospect as there is plenty of “newcomers” to the gold cup divison amongst the entries
Will be keepig my eye out for a few others in the handicaps
Only running through a few of my picks as its early days, the likes of min, yorkhill, samcro, our duke. Footpad, petit mouchoir, faugheen all running aswell what a weekends racing this is, jam packed with quality and ill be surprised if it does not give plenty of pointers to festival winners
January 29, 2018 at 17:32 #1339772Can’t see that Total Recall price Ham?
January 29, 2018 at 17:55 #1339782Can only see one firm priced up, Power who quote 11/8
January 29, 2018 at 18:23 #1339799Very early days for the handicaps but if Benie Des dieux or Tycoon Prince show up in the Sandyford i would be interested. They both have 12/1 available now, whilst they both have 3 entries this weekend, i wont get involved just yet.
For the Irish Champion, Bapaume would be a sneaky fancy to run well and if Faugheen isnt up to his old self, possibly win. I envisage he’ll be strong at the finish, whereas horses such as Melon (unless hes learnt) might be slowing.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 29, 2018 at 19:30 #1339812Yeah was with PP kev and taken the price when i started typing that out earlier, two massive moves on total recall and melon since then, as i said he was as big as 8/1 until a few days back, was a bit shocked myself to see that price now, melon also (not thag ive backed him) was 7/2 a few hours back
And im intrigued about benie des dieux jack i have some nice prices about her in the ryanair, if she runs in a handicap hopefully she bolts up
January 29, 2018 at 21:17 #1339830Ham i am not all that bothered about prices, but oddschecker would suggest there was nothing better than 7/4 about today?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 29, 2018 at 21:26 #1339831Not sure about Killultagh Vic. Wasn’t hoping Ex Patriot would frank his form but he was well beaten in The Cleeve Hurdle. I know Chasing is different but this Irish Gold Cup looks a big ask. More interested in seeing how Bachasson gets on. If Djakadam is back in form it should be an easy choice for Townend
January 29, 2018 at 22:36 #1339834There was most definitely 4/1 available jack, there was also 8/1 available and ive been told there was double figures which i sadly missed (just a few days ago when the race was priced) like i had the discussion with judge last week about this, im not sure what i would get out of making a price up, it could still lose (like happened with what i posted last week, he said the prices where not available in the morning, just so he would stop talking nonsense i sent him the picture as a one off) the horse finished tailed off…
Plenty people put up posts saying they got this horse and that horse at 200/300/400s on the exchanges, you just have to take there word for it unfortunately, just like youll have to take mine (i could do what i did last week with judge but once was enough lol), i dont post everything as i bet.
Just out of curiosity, since you can say thats all they offered on total recall, what is oddschecker saying was available on defi du seuil today, incase my eyes where deceiving me through my nightshift lol
January 29, 2018 at 22:40 #1339835And im not sure id say ex patriot did anything negative to the form vautour, he simply did not stay but was travelling well enough until 2 out, made a mistake then just couldnt stay, on fairly heavy ground, still a young horse, was a big ask for him at the weekend
The vibes have been good about killultagh vic which is enough for me (not saying he will win, 7/1 is probably a fair reflection of his chance tbh) but no reason if he retains abillity he wont be bang there, bachasson anothwr ill be happy to see run well for my gold cup bets, if the ground turns up heavy hes a massive player. Still has to do it on a better surface though.
January 29, 2018 at 23:27 #1339840I won’t be betting until friday for this meeting but I will probably back Espoir Dallen to beat Stormy Ireland. Though for my Apples Shakira bet, I’d be pleased if they are both beaten here.
Yorkhill will be my pick over Min. Though I think both are inferior to Altior.
Samcro will hopefully put in a massive run that highlights why he’s been my Cheltenham banker for months on here.
Total recall should win the handicap but 11/8 is crazy shirt. Has their ever been a graded handicap with an odds on shot in the race does anyone know?
January 30, 2018 at 01:24 #1339849Total Recall was 5/1 with Paddy Power on 24th January.
Sometimes there are good odds to be had early if you are willing to risk that they may not run.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
January 30, 2018 at 08:30 #1339863@Vautour agree it will be a proper acid test for him. He will need to be right back to his best to produce a good showing. However, he must be showing a good bit as last spring he was lucky to be going pointing he was that gone. I live about 10mins from Colins McBs and know him pretty well, they weren’t expecting him to be going to Willies anytime soon, but after a few gallops down South he was showing a lot more and not worrying the vet.
@Ham I think the general confusion was about the price yesterday when the blog was posted…The price a days ago is certainly looking good now. He is very well in, but havent we seen before horses not produce over hurdles off a much more lenient mark?
I will have to probably take him on now given his price, with a couple of e/ws. Too early to know for certain what will run but A Great View would be off early interest. On Defi, i think i can see a bit of 7s offered yesterday for the Irsh CH?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 30, 2018 at 12:50 #1339893Yorkhill may go back over hurdles if he doesn’t satisfy connections this week. The trainer said he will take Min on and that they may switch to hurdling if it doesn’t go well for Yorkhill.
Willie said the horse is tricky to ride over a longer trip and that he is hopeful that the trip this week (2m 1f) will suit better.
Not much between him and Min on RPRs but Yorkhill is 4/5 and Min 5/2 with Paddy Power.
I’ll probably leave this race, which might end up a small field.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
January 30, 2018 at 15:17 #1339915No benie des dieux in Sandyford, but tycoon prince stays in…mind you hes in the novice G1 too.
No BDD anywhere this weekend, disappointing or what!….i thought he’d fire her at a big handicap given the trainers championship.
Either shes fragile or they want her kept vs the ladies.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 31, 2018 at 03:42 #1339975I’m on BDD for any race jack.
I heard she had a setback a while back but it was not anything serious – just meant it’d hold her up a little. Perhaps she hasn’t got to full fitness yet?
January 31, 2018 at 10:47 #1339984Yeah jack i understand, i just write up when i have collectively enough to write up about and it usually takes me a day or so (not that i write much i just do a bit at a time), doesnt mean i taken the price as i posted it, i can understand how people look at that and take it as so and i would tend to agree with you regarding TR, but his mark just looks THAT leniant that Hes probably about 2 stone well in, even if he produced half that improvement, he should still walk it, but entirely possible he wont show any/much for hurdles and like you say it will be a big enough field so will have to be spot on,ill probably green out on the day to be cautious, but if he runs on the day and is around 5/4, hes about as solid looking 5/4 youll get at that mark.
And defi was 14/1 when i started typing that, that evening when i posted he was 7/2 or something.
Like i said i have BDD for the ryanair, but im slightly put off about her failing to stay right, hard what to make of her, but the races this weekend, is there one that really suits her? Flogas would be the only one i would have thought but of course inelegible as not a novice, will he give her a run over hurdles and hope she shows the same form? He has plenty posibillities for the ryanair, would they consider the mares for her? Doubt it myself as shes a natural over a fence. Hard to see where she fits in at the moment
January 31, 2018 at 16:08 #1340008Ryan Air, I’d say, Ham. Her rating before her Carlisle win was 140 so she could probably run in the Browne Advisory Plate; she’d be well handicapped assuming she wasn’t raised too much for her Carlisle win.
