I’m off to Upton Park tomorrow but for once I’m not gonna be all super confident, this is a tough game even though it may look a formality on paper.
Scott Parker and Carlton Cole will wanna play blinders to prove Chelsea they were wrong to let them go.
Should be a cracking London Derby though
September 12, 2010 at 11:16 #317174The Premiership trophy will be in’ John Terrys hands by Easter.
September 12, 2010 at 11:43 #317179At the risk of repeating myself, I note that the teams Chelsea have played in their first 4 games are currently 16th, 17th, 19th and 20th in the table … and next Sunday’s game ?? … ooohh, a "tough" encounter against 4th placed Blackpool … Matthew, any chance that the guy who programmes the fixture computer is a Stamford Bridge season ticket holder ??

Yep, tough game Matthew against a side that have now lost their opening four games and have a kamikaze goalkeeper whose nerve is shot to pieces … as for Parker and Cole … wanting to and having the capability to play blinders against the likes of Chelsea are two entirely different things
September 12, 2010 at 12:07 #317185Chris, I acknowledge what you’re saying about only having played lesser teams but this is an amazing team, not being biased, they could go through the season unbeaten.
Seriously.

September 23, 2010 at 10:36 #318867Imagine losing at home to Newcastle Utd.

do you think I or anyone at Chelsea Football Club cares about the Carling Cup

I’m off for a day out at Man City Sat
September 23, 2010 at 13:02 #318890Matthew, is that what you’re going to say everytime Chelsea lose… do you think we care about such and such.
Last time it was the Community Shield, now it’s the Carling Cup, what happens when you lose in the Premier League – do you think we care about losing to Man Utd, do you think we care about losing to Arsenal etc etc.
Ancelotti said he was going to play the kids last night but instead he fielded a pretty strong side, nine or ten of your players last night are in the 25-man Premier League squad mate. Yet you get beat at home to a Newcastle side that made 10 changes from the weekend.
This result tells me what I’ve always believed, Chelsea are good but they’re not great. You’ll struggle to constantly beat the big teams, you’ll struggle if you have an injury crisis etc.
Chelsea’s next three league games are against Man City, Arsenal and Villa then after that you’ve got a few tough trips to Blackburn and Liverpool. As I’ve been saying since the start of the season, if Chelsea are still winning every game after 10-12 league games I’ll hold my hand up and say you were right. But until then I reserve judgement.
ps: sorry haven’t been on to rib you for a while, I’ve been on holiday for three weeks. How have you been mate, everything ok?
September 23, 2010 at 13:18 #318892I’m not concerned about you ‘ribbing’ me
it’s insignificant, as is the Carling Cup.Come back to me at the end of the season if anyone
Other than Chelsea wins the premier league. That gives you a number of chances against my one team mate

Cheers.

Have you read the article that Abramovich has spent over £450m and acquired just over 1,000 new fans. Chelsea are a marketing franchise who earn more money of TV revenue in US/China than they do from shirt sales and gate receipts in the UK. The club has no history and the fans are not real fans because they don’t experience any highs or lows which is a real shame, I’d also like to say that Stamford Bridge is like a library these days that’s full of tourists taking pictures and recently I think 7,000 odd Blackpool fans out sung their opposition for 90 minutes.September 23, 2010 at 16:00 #318926History
we’ve won three titles in the last 6 years with the double coming last year. That’s modern history, I don’t even need to bring the cups up, Wembley is Chelsea’s 2nd home.
People that go on about history are the likes of Tottenham, haven’t won the league since 1960 or Arsenal, albeit a much better team/club, yet they’ve won nothing in 6 years. As for Liverpool, huge history, but going nowhere.
I know where I’d rather be.
PS, Mr Wilson I’ve experienced both the highs and the lows, night games away at Sunderland, Middlesboro and Barnsley spring to mind of the lows.
September 23, 2010 at 18:58 #318952Talking of history and low points, Matthew … April 1991 at the famous City Ground … 5 minutes of torture here for your boys in blue … enjoy
September 23, 2010 at 19:51 #318971I was there Chris, love Forest away, although, I was only a boy then
So couldn’t enjoy the fun of Nottingham town centre in the evening, I’m gonna have a weekend in Nottingham soon again, great fun
