But Chelsea weren’t the best team last week when they were top. It’s not as simple as looking at the table and saying, "Well they are top so they must be the best".
Actually a surprise to you it might be but yes…….the team at the top of the table is the best at any particular moment in time!!
That is why there is a table.
Otherwise forget Utds untold amount of titles….they wasnt the best team they just happened to get the most points!!……..absolute bollox
You’re trying to turn football into a science when actually its quite a simple game!!…….you should put in for the England job when it becomes available!!
What the hell are you on about Ardross… or should your name be called dross because that’s what you spout.
So are you saying then, that Blackpool were the best team in the Premier League when they beat Wigan 4-0… because they were top? What are you saying, please explain.
Surely it’s you that’s trying to turn this into a science. Bascially, you are saying whoever is top of the table is the best team in the league. Are you not?
So are you changing your mind now? Are you now saying that Chelsea are not the best team the Premier League can offer, are you now saying that Man United are because they are top. I’m really confused.
Let’s get back to basics. Please.
It doesn’t matter who is top of the table right now… titles are not decided in November. The table is only relevant at the end of the season. This is what I’ve been saying all along. This is not a science, this is a FACT.
In my opinion, Chelsea won’t win the title becaue their squad isn’t good enough. I have been saying this from day one. FACT. And just to be clear, the fact is that I’ve been saying Chelsea won’t win the title from day one in case you try and twist some words.
Chelsea have lost six competitive games this season. FACT.
Since they went on the ‘bad run’ that the media are now talking about (the one that I flagged up before it even happened) Chelsea have picked up 14 points from a possible 30. FACT.
At the same time, Man United, who have also been poor by their own high standards, haven’t lost a single game and have picked up 22 points from the last 30 available. FACT.
So are we on the same wavelength now Ardross. Football isn’t a science, it’s simple. The best team over a 38 game season will win the league. That is what I am saying. This is what I have been saying since the start of the season. And in my opinon. That team WILL NOT be Chelsea.
It seems like you are getting a bit uptight, a bit uptight because when Chelsea were eight points clear and I was saying they wouldn’t win the title, it was easy for the likes of you to come on say I was wrong. It was easy for people to come on here and say Chelsea are the best team the Premier League cna offer. It was easy for people to say that Chelsea are untouchable etc.
Yet because I was saying all along that Chelsee aren’t good enough (I’ve even given reason why… Carvalho leaving being a major one), people are now beginning to get wound up knowing that what I’ve said actually could be true.
Now son… go and get your name changed to DROSS… and come back at the end of the season when Chelsea haven’t won the title and admit that you were wrong, and I was right.
Chelsea at odds on, and Tiger Woods being favourite to win every golf tournament he has started this year, have been the biggest lays I’ve ever seen… and thankfully I’ve made a hell a lot of money out of it. And I’ve warned everyone beforehand also, so there’s no acquistions of aftertiming coming my way.
The league table isnt a science it tells you who is doing what at any particular time….you cant grasp that……… heh heh proper sky armchair fan

So the latest update is… according to Dross’ science this is, is that;
Arsenal are the best team in England because they are top of the Premier League.
Man City are the second best team in England because they are second in the Premier League.
Man Utd are the third best team in England because they are third in the Premier League.
I prefer to ignore league tables however and just go on what I see. And what I see is that Chelsea are not good enough to win the title this year. My original picks were Man City and Utd to finish above them. Let’s say I’m quite comfortable with how things are going despite people telling me that Chelsea are unbeatable, that they are the best team in Europe, that they will go this season unbeaten, that Drogba is the best striker in the world etc etc.
Have a nice Christmas everyone.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that you’ve let Carvalho go. A huge mistake in my opinion.
Chelsea have lost one of their best defenders and in Deco, Ballack and Cole you’ve lost a huge chunk of depth in midfield. As yet the Blues haven’t addded another striker either. Drogba is getting on now and will pick up more niggling injuries than ever before.
I’ve got Chelsea down as finishing third, with both United and City finishing above them. We’ll see.
So it looks like my concerns for Chelsea have come true. No depth to their squad, relying on players like Kakuta to turn the game for them, Drogba past his best, missing Carvalho at the back immensely.
Chelsea currently not even in the top four. Man City and Utd first and second. And I’ve been saying all this since a ball was kicked this season, unlike many aftertimers that are appearing.
In fact the only thing that I’ve got wrong is that I said Chelsea will finish third. I have my doubts about that now.
I only wish Matthew had stayed around to give his comments.

The Chelsea faithful… the disillusional Chelsea faithful have been silenced once and for all. Awful squad, ageing squad, no strength in depth. But I did say all this in August.
I just hope Matthew hasn’t changed his allegiances toNewcastle. They won 5-0 tonight so I guess they are now the best team the Premier League can offer
