September 23, 2010 at 21:29 #318993PS … I assume you’re not waiting for us to get back in the Prem before your visit … it could take a while
September 23, 2010 at 21:42 #318995fyi, Matthew … "Hooters" has moved location

I know my Mate had a weekend up with Millwall recently.
September 25, 2010 at 12:36 #319226I’m not concerned about you ‘ribbing’ me
it’s insignificant, as is the Carling Cup.Come back to me at the end of the season
if anyone
Other than Chelsea wins the premier league. That gives you a number of chances against my one team mate

Cheers.
Matthew, this is what I think the majority of people on here have been saying to you regarding Chelsea. But it’s you that keeps adding to this thread every time they win a game.
So please, practice what you preach and come back and say "I told you so" when they’ve won the title instead of telling us all Chelsea are the best team in the world after they’ve beaten a Wigan, a West Ham or a Blackpool.
September 25, 2010 at 13:10 #319232I wonder how Matthew responds to today’s setback in Manchester ?

Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
September 25, 2010 at 14:37 #319268Quite quickly and easily, I’m in a pub in Manchester, we had to get beat eventually.
Wait till the end of season chaps
XSeptember 25, 2010 at 20:28 #319361Earlier in the thread you said they would go through the season unbeaten
September 25, 2010 at 20:32 #319364Earlier in the thread you said they would go through the season unbeaten
Wellhands up, I was wrong David, but we will still win the premiership.
September 25, 2010 at 21:29 #319373we had to get beat eventually
"Eventually", Matthew ??? … it’s SIX games into the season

For the record, I still think Chelsea will win the league primarily because they won’t make any mistakes against the lesser sides in the same way that Man Utd and Arsenal have already done this year.
PS … for those wishing to have a bet in the Championship, Forest were outstanding today
September 26, 2010 at 09:04 #319422Matthew, on the 12th September you wrote;
"but this is an amazing team, not being biased, they could go through the season unbeaten. Seriously."
So what’s gone wrong then mate? I know you meant Premier League but this ‘greatest team on the planet’ that you keep referring to have now lost THREE times in just nine games this season.
You lost to United in the Community Shield, you lost to Newcastle in the Carling Cup and you lost to Man City in the Prem. Your six wins have came against FIVE teams that, betting wise at least, are expected to be in the bottom eight of the table come the end of the season. Your other win came against one of the worst teams ever to play in the Champions League group stages.
I’ve lost count of the number of players you said Chelsea were going to sign (Torres the main one) and haven’t. But yet somewhere in this thread you have the balls to tell someone to stick to racing and not to question your knowledge of football.
So does your knowledge of football still tell you Chelsea can go through the season unbeaten… seriously

I told you on the very first page of this thread that Chelsea weren’t as great as you’re making them out to be. I saw them in two of their pre-season friendlies and they were absolutely awful. Remember, they got beat four times in a row and even though those games were friendlies/Community Shield I thought to myself, wow, this Chelsea side will struggle against the big boys this year.
Chelsea’s three defeats prove to me exactly what I’ve always thought. And that’s 1) that they’ll struggle against the big boys (lost to Man U and Man City already) and 2) they’ll struggle when they have a huge injury list – if they get one of course (the players that came in against Newcastle hardly proved they’d cope).
I won’t say anymore on this subject now until Christmas at least.
Remeber, Chelsea are still odds on to win the title so effectively there’s more chance of them winning it than there is of them losing it. I’ve never been so confident in my life that Chelsea won’t win the title this year.
And for the record I think both United and City will finish above them.
September 26, 2010 at 09:17 #319424Alright, you wait and see.
Cheers
September 26, 2010 at 13:07 #319479Still think Chelsea will be far too solid. United highlighted their weakness at the back again today, without getting a consistent partner for Vidic, they will really struggle. Get on Chelsea at 6/4.
October 3, 2010 at 08:55 #320589Anyone still arguing with me
October 3, 2010 at 10:03 #320602Looking forward to an interesting clash of styles this afternoon … Chelsea’s strength and physical presence versus Arsenal’s style and finesse … can’t help but think Chelsea will be too strong for Arsenal’s slightly lightweight midfield … but, you never know

2.3/1 treble for the three home "bankers" … Man City 4/9, Liverpool 1/3, Chelsea 8/11 ???
… or an outrageously speculative (and unlikely) 395/1 treble for three aways … Newcastle 7/1, Blackpool 10/1, Arsenal 7/2 ??? … stranger things have happened

Some of yesterday’s ew profit from Sandor in the Cambridgeshire to be reinvested in the Arc this afternoon on Lope De Vega 25/1 … no stand out bet among the favourites and could be one of those years for a real turn up ie., 50/1 + … Fallon @ 100/1 anyone ???

I’m of the opinion that a full strength Arsenal side – as Chelsea were – would have beat Chelsea, FWIW.
It’s a big ask to go to places like Stamford Bridge without your best Goalkeeper, defender, midfielder (arguably best in the world) and best striker in Almunia, Vermaelen, Fabregas and Robin Van Persie, respectively.
Take Cech, Terry, Essien and Drogba out of the Chelsea side and what happens Matthew? I’ll tell you what happens, you lose at home like you did against Newcastle in the Carling Cup tie. They more than ‘lived’ with Chelsea.
Some acknowledgement of Arsenals current and on-going injury crisis would’ve been a nice touch, but **** it, who gives a flying one, eh?!
October 4, 2010 at 07:17 #320833I agree Arsenal are a very good team and yes, they missed Fabregas and Van Persie but that’s Wenger’s fault for not buying players as back up.
At this moment in time, Chelsea are a cut above anyone in England and I told everyone this a while ago.
