Very interesting cleeve hurdle and the class horse is Oscar whiskey but will he stay?
If you fancy reve de sivola who stays forever and goes in any ground, I advise splitting you to split your stake and have half on him to win today and also the wide open world hurdle at a very, very good 20/1 at laddies, hills were 12s and joes 14s so at 9/4 and 7s the 20s is very good

Last time I looked he was about 10/1 GDC so well done getting the 20’s,I thought
Reve de sivola
was the only one who would thrive in the ground yesterday but the surprise package for me was
Oscar Whiskey
, excelled himself and on Good ground I’d be confident of him reversing yesterdays form! More concerning is after chatting to ‘Reve’s’ Lass is the fact that he has suffered badly with his 2 front legs, she spent a good 15mins with the hose on them and said they are still a concern,I’d be concerned with them on a faster surface too. What is blatantly obvious though is he battles and nothing would have got past him yesterday.I said to her that if he could jump a fence he’d be a Gold Cup horse,he was my main Ante-Post bet for the 2011 Hennessey as I did a ‘Diamond Harry’ on him and backed him before he even jumped a fence!
Good Luck though Gary………You’ll need it I’m afraid![attachment=0:36ibfcti]1et8ir.jpg[/attachment:36ibfcti]
January 27, 2013 at 13:11 #427701Ah well that’s racing mate, not a disaster as I had a nice bet yesterday at 3s with joes and the rfc
nice pics again mateJanuary 27, 2013 at 14:14 #427709How many festival winners do you think you saw yesterday Gord?

Well
Fist
was right about
Sprinter Sacre
,he has everything and more than anything all ground comes the same, thats Class so he’s one we saw! Give me 33/1 about another horse who ‘miraculously’ handled yesterdays ground better than 99% of us thought he would rather than the same 33/1 about this ‘Katenko’.
Cape Tribulation
has ran to at least 12lb better than his official mark yesterday,he’s no Gold cup back number these days.A year ago to the day he was tailed off behind ‘Calg’ in the Skybet mind?
The New One
is nothing special, physically he’s dissapointing so I’m happy that ‘Rule the world’ will beat him.
At Fishers Cross
,is a horse stuck between a rock and a hard place,he could be a Cheltenham festival winner too but God knows in what race! I wouldn’t be surprised to see
Rolling Star
winning the ‘Triumph’ he looks a serious 4yo and I can seriously see
Oscar Whiskey
winning the World hurdle on Good ground and of all the horses I saw I’d make him the best bet of the lot bar ‘The Machine’ so yesterdays results even though ran in horrendous conditions could have a few pointers to what happens in March.
January 27, 2013 at 15:34 #427712Here’s one for you Joni, dont tell everyone but this fellow will be a different one from the one we’ve seen for the past 14 months come March……I said to him yesterday,"Will you Win today"? and he replied .."Not by the hair on my Chinny chin chin"!!

Dissapointing is a word I dont use lightly, not only in yourself for not knowing but in the way this fellow is blatantly being placed to fail! Come March and granted typical Cheltenham ground (Good) you will see him running in the ‘Festival’ Chase again but instead of running off a mark of 155,he’ll be nearer the 145 mark and will be one of the best handicapped horses in the race,he was the 11/2fav last year around a course he has ran half of his 18 races around that is 9 times to you and me or 50% to the Ginger one.Keep it to yourself though mind!
January 27, 2013 at 18:50 #427725I’m patiently waiting on him too………..he owes me

January 27, 2013 at 19:18 #427732I think he saves a bit for himself!! You confident he wants the 3 miles?

January 27, 2013 at 20:33 #427739One for you GDC….

Bit slow on the uptake today! With you now. What did you make of Imperial Commander? Ran an incredible race after such a long absence no?

I backed him on course Joni and he ran an absolute blinder But He wont be winning another Gold cup as 12yo’s just dont do it.My Colours are firmly nailed to
First Lieutenant
but I saw the Gold Cup winner yesterday and that was
Cape Tribulation
,I’ve said it many times before but the Gold Cup is a unique test for a horse,it requires an absolute out and out stayer to win it and most of those are actually Handicappers a bit like ‘Synchronised’ was the difference between him and ‘The Caped One’ is that one travels like a dream and still finds plenty, the other needs cajoling but does the same.
Cape Tribulation
is hugely overpriced at 33/1 and I’ve had a bit on today with Ladbrokes. This fellow is a different horse to the one I saw at Doncaster a year ago and he’ll be even better on Good Ground,he’s a horse I’ve always kept an eye on and after yesterdays performance he’s certainly confirmed he’ll get up that hill.I’ve sat and watched the re-run half a dozen times today and cant contain myself any longer!!

Cape Tribulation

January 27, 2013 at 21:53 #427753Malcolm Jefferson had a great festival last year and that will take some topping but this lad could run a big race, I totally agree and we know he stays and loves the course

How many times do we say it, what an awesome 4 days we have ahead of us

Only 43 days to go, bring it on

The most important thing about
Cape Tribulation
has always been his ground requirements and he’s one you would say Had to have good Ground,he’s proved conclusively that he handles Heavy easily and he proved even more conclusively that he can battle like a lion and give weight to a former Gold cup winner who was pretty straight. All things considered this fellow is a serious Gold cup contender this year and having backed 3 of the last 5 winners Ante-Post,
Denman
10/1,
Imperial Commander
34’s and 16/1 down,and
Synchronised
22’s and 16/1 down I feel pretty confident putting this fellow up as my 2nd choice in the race.I’m 100% loyal to
First Lieutenant
but he does have a Ryanair entry to worry about! Ladbrokes wont be going 33/1 after tomorrow!

In all seriousness i give this Cape Tribulation every chance on yestersays showing. The 33’s won’t be around for too long!
What is your opinon on this years Ryan Air old chap?
January 27, 2013 at 22:12 #427758This must be the first time I’ve disagreed with you TAPK, I couldn’t back CT for the Gold Cup even if you gave me a free bet, simply lacks the class for such a race IMO. I’m a bit surprised you’ve brought age into the equation, Kauto Star was winning at Haydock at a grand old age as did Hello Bud at Aintree. IC is all class and the master will have him ready for the big one trust me,yesterday was a marvellous comeback run and if he hadn’t have gone hell for leather round the first mile he’d probably have won. I’ve snaffled both the 50s and the 25s on offer and can’t wait for him to serve it up to the young pretenders come March!
