Eclipse,I’m one of those who when I see you’ve posted has to read your work, you have been very consistent in your posts, always modest, articulate and knowledgable about our great sport,I like your humour that ocassionally runs through your comments too! But you are without doubt the worst Tipster I have come across on here. When it comes to picking winners look at me as your

    Teacher

,the same way I look at you for your use of the English language!Enough said on that! I’m sure you have mentioned in the past some sort of connection with the late Alex Stewart trainer of the mighty

    Mtoto

would you care to elaborate further your Racing experience dear, many thanks,
    Gord.

Well done Gord, now we gonna get threads in 4 months time asking, whatever happened to that Kingfisher guy he was a good poster?

Gord from Ripley, GWILSON, Kingfisher and TAPK legends the lot of um.

Now what about that race they named after you. The Kings Stand. How do you think princess Hayley and Margot will fair?

TAPK: The rain has scuppered my double with Parish Hall for the Guineas and Derby so I have looked elsewhere for some potential value.

This morning I have backed 2 EW as Camelot is far too short for me in this ground although obviously will take all the beating!

Hayleys been round this morning to ride one of mine, she says he could be a ‘Kings Stand’ sort Nath,he’s put a helluva lot of weight on over the winter but 5f is his trip. He’s a Grey!! and is 25/1 at the moment! Here’s a Pic…

She did say the Kings stand is ‘Margots’ first target and at 20/1 is also too big,I see the legend himself is only 16/1 this year,I wonder if ‘Victor’ will go 40’s!

GDC,I live opposite the local vicar,he has called me over to the garden fence many a time during the summer as I like to watch the racing outside on my TV,of course I have been known to swear at times, thank God I wasn’t outside when ‘Sunnyhill Boy’ was ****** robbed in the National then! Anyway he says in his patronising tones "Gordon,Gordon",I dont know why he calls me that, one Gordon is fine!"Have you got a minute" I know whats coming these days! "Could you not use such language outside Gordon,I live in a house of God" he says "Jesus Sufferin Vicar I only said For Christ sake Hughsey shake the bloody reigns then" I had backed

    Bronterre

in running at 12’s in last seasons Dewhurst, well of course

    Parish Hall

won so I said "You should have been on the winner there Vic"!"I dont believe in gambling Gordon what price was he"? he says! 20/1 "That would have paid for a few more Bibles eh" I commented.Anyway he’s had a dabble on him for The Derby at 25/1,I say he,I’ve actually put the bet on for him and will contribute the winnings to his ‘Churchey funds’! Anyway GDC I have backed

    Bronterre

at 40/1,he has place potential at worst.Obviously

    Camelot

will take all the beating as I never backed him e/w at 6/1! Confidence is King! Good luck with yours!

An interesting little race this 3,10pm at Kempton today, the dogs were barking about

    Saamidd

long before he made his debut at Newbury,he’s only ever lost to ‘Frankel’ and ran a mere 4 times in his life,we’ll see if he’s still got it shortly.I have always liked

    Side Glance

,not sure he’ll ever be a Group 1 horse though whereas ‘Saamidd’ still has that potential.I see both trade at 11/4,its a case of take your pick between the 2 as I cant see anything else improving past the pair.’King Torus’ having to give weight basically tells you this race has not been framed for him in mind, his day will come too though.

Right then the first ‘Live’ bet on here is the horse I saw make his debut at Nottingham almost a year ago,he finished an unlucky 2nd that day but I said then he was a Group horse in the making, well todays only a Listed race and he gets 3lb of 2 decent types in ‘Bannock’ and ‘Gusto’ who incidentally wont get near him if he’s fit.

    Burwaaz

is a Sprinter who I have high expectations of this year!

    Burwaaz

The 4,20pm panned out exactly as I expected! ………

    Burwaaz

,positively flying at the finish! I’ll give Paul Hanagan the benefit of the doubt at the moment but I’m a believer that some partnerships are made in heaven and some are just not meant to be.Paul Hanagan/Sheikh Hamden just doesn’t sit comfortably with me at all.Even off level weights ‘Burwaaz’ beats the other 2 should they meet again! Thats Flat racing I’m afraid, split second decisions can prove very costly if they are wrong!

    Saamidd

should have won too,I could easily have lumped on him aswell! Roll on Newmarket! :D (

What did you think of COMMITMENT at Ponterfract he was behind SWEEDISH SAILOR at Yarmouth along with NOBLE MISSION. i think he pick up a nice handicap this year.

Gord i was watching the jewson again today and apart from my SIR DES CHAMPS taking the field apart.I think the 3rd horse next year
FOR NON STOP could win the Paddy Power cup this year if Hunt Ball does race then he be a top weight and i am sure FNS will get a decent weight as well.Though this horse has a bit of MEDERMIT about him he runs ok at Cheltenham but always get placed but does not win and i know he fell a few times to.What you think Gord.

Burwaaz could just be one of those horses. He clearly has bundles of ability but he is not a straightforward ride. He carries his head very awkwardly at times and appeared to be trying to unship his jockey so whether he will ever consent to show his true ability without removing his breeding utensils remains to be seen. Saamidd has bigger days ahead but it was a very scenic route Mr Dettori took.

Depending on whether something like ‘Poquelin’ runs then ‘Hunt Ball’ would actually get in lightly off 157 around (11-0) so

    For Non Stop

would get in with a mere (10-8)! Very attractive darren I would be tempted myself!

He took off inside the last furlong Eclipse,I saw enough today to mark him down as a potential Group 1 sprinter myself,I’m not sure if there were problems with his tack as Paul had a look down at one point, much about the same time he ran into the back of another horse! Reminds me a bit of the also slightly quirky

darren an Ascot Gold cup winner should be touching a mark of 120,your fellow

    Colour Vision

got beat by my Chester Cup horse

    Never Can Tell

off a mark of 105 last year! BUT he was only a 3yo so in effect ran a cracker in the Cesarewitch, his subsequent effort behind an Ascot Gold cup winner in ‘Fame and Glory’ proved he improved again.Today he ran off a mark of 110 and proved he is a genuine Gold Cup horse,I would raise him purely on a visual interpretation of the race another 10lb as he has physically improved in size too.I doubt the handicapper will be so harsh as he was heavily eased but not only does he make ‘Never Can Tell’ look a good thing now for the Chester Cup he is a major player for the big one himself! Well spotted as usual mate!

I backed Burwaaz a time or two last season, always seemed to find one too good. Thought about backing both him and Bannock today. But draw and the fact there were other prominent runners in the field put me off. Think you’re right EF, temperament in question. As AOB would say though "listen, he shows plenty of speed". Not up to Group 1 level (imo) King George might be Burwaaz’s best chance of success at Group level. NO! Not the Ascot King George, the one down in West Sussex. A downhill 5f.

Saamidd’s run is promising, although the way the race was run suited him. They went too fast up front and first two came from well back.

On at big prices Colour Vision for the Gold Cup, even managed to pinch a little 25/1, but Stan James wouldn’t allow me much on. Backed him today too.

Never let a big price put you off backing a horse Darren, unless you think it won’t be fit.

One way of making that decision is looking at trainers reappearance strike rates. Bin Surroor has a good record first time out, so his are unlikely to want for fitness.

I’ll whisper this Darren, as it’s on Gord’s thread – You can always back them both.
