Roger Charlton was reported as wanting James Doyle to ride Fair Eva in the Guineas. That will be her 4th Jockey in 5 races.
Unusually bullish in this instance, Charlton has said she might “Finish in the 1st Four”
I wish there was continuity of pilot and some confidence in the filly.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
April 28, 2017 at 20:16 #1298708Looks like Frankel could have two chances in the race as Richard Fahey has confirmed that Queen Kindly will run, just a shame Spencer will probably use the same daft tactics he did in the Fred Darling.
Hopefully, Fahey tells him to jump out and get a position mid div and see what happens as they need to know one way or the other whether she will stay, there is reason to believe she could get 8F being that her dam Lady Of The Desert is related to a 8F & dual 10F winners and the grandam Queens Logic is a half sister to Dylan Thomas.
Watching the Fred Darling again she was staying on all the way to the line and was closest at the finish and that gives me hope that another furlong wouldn’t be beyond her.
April 28, 2017 at 21:13 #1298720Frankel seems to be carrying all before him at the moment. Mopping up the classic trials pretty much.
Must increase the confidence in Fair Eva.
Does anyone think she might be a short runner as she’s by a mare who won the Haydock sprint cup?
April 28, 2017 at 21:16 #1298721I agree LD73, I like the way she finished too and have backed her E/W at 33-1. Hope she doesn’t remember having her back teeth extracted when the stalls open.

Although the dam won the sprint cup she was also G3 placed twice over 8F, she has produced a half brother (by Dansili) who won over 10F and she herself was a full sister to Hellborine a 8F G2 winner and runner up in the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac
African Rose’s dam New Orchid won over 10F, was G3 placed over 12F and was a half sister to Dewhurst winner Distant Music who also won over 9F and was 3rd to Kalanisi and Montjeu in the Champion Stakes.
Don’t see the 8F trip being any problem and many said that dropping back to a sharp 6F in the Lowther didn’t really suit her – it was also interesting to note that Roger Charlton has said she had a growth spurt in the latter half of her two year old season and that arguably could have been a factor in those two defeats.

When Spencer jumped out of the stalls in the Fred Darling on Queen Kindly you could almost be forgiven for thinking we weren’t meant to see how good this filly has wintered, if you looked at the race as a fitness run then it was an extremely good one and based on that Queen Kindly has more than a good chance of winning the 1000 Guineas with her blistering turn of foot, she was only two and half lengths behind the winner that day after virtually walking out of the stalls.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 29, 2017 at 15:30 #1298891Can’t help but think SEA OF GRACE
is the one to take out of the nell gwyn
apparently looked fat as a pig in the paddock, I’m no judge of these things but that’s what they were saying on ITV before the race. Ran like she needed the race, came there to win it then blew up and faded.
Given her pedigree it’s not hard to think she faded because she need the run than because of lack of stamina. If the ground isn’t too quick next weekend she must be a knocking good each way bet at least.
Doesn’t look like the strongest guineas either.

In defence of Sea Of Grace and to put the records straight as I was at the paddock last week and saw her with my own eyes I can say that she was anything but as
fat as a pig in fact the opposite was true she was tall and willowy in her frame but a beautiful looking filly and looked like she needed to fill out a little more and I believe Haggas has said that he has plans to run her over 1m2f perhaps in France later in the season if she doesn’t line up for the 1000 Guineas.I certainly wouldn’t be putting anyone off backing her for the 1000 Guineas but would say wait a while longer before giving bookies your money and take another look at a replay of ITV racing, she certainly didn’t get up the hill in the Nell Gwyn and personally I would take UNFORGETABLEFILLY out of that race to be a player for the 1000 Guineas.
Good luck whatever you go for..
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 30, 2017 at 11:05 #1298968Plenty of money has come in for Talaayeb, now around 12-1 across the boards
Obviously there has to be a concern about the form with Neshmeya well beaten again the other day but she could do no more than beat what was in front of her
I think she might be a lively type for the Oaks as well, having a middle distance pedigree being by Dansili out of Rumoush
May 1, 2017 at 18:24 #1299118It would appear according to Bruce Raymond, racing manager of pretty much the whole field except for the O’Brien horses, that Queen Kindly will now be ridden by Gerald Mosse – I guess connections were none to pleased by Spencer’s daft assed assessment that in order to get the trip you not only need to sit at the back and give the leaders a 8L start but also attempt to rearrange you mount’s teeth at the start of the race as well.

Doesn’t run – goes to France.
May 2, 2017 at 07:02 #1299167Thanks JJM haven’t seen that news anywhere, she’s definitely worth following to France though.
Looks like it’s going to be a Frankel based Guineas for me with Queen Kindly and a covering bet on
Fair Eva then.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...May 2, 2017 at 20:17 #1299217I’ve got Fair Eva at 20/1 and I feel she has a good chance of winning this.
She ran four times on fast ground last year and the Lowther run was always a bit silly in my opinion, asking her to take on 5F sprinters at York on firmish ground, after the jockey had warned she needed stepping up.
The Rockfel run was a bit disappointing, as she was second at odds of 4/9 Fav. That race hasn’t worked out great but I feel that, over the mile and being fresh now, she can build on a promising start to her career and mature into a good filly. Roger Charlton is pleased with her physical improvement over the winter and he is in good form, with a 32% strike rate over the last 14 days.
Daban is too short in my mind. With so many fillies running poorly in the trial, I am concerned whether Daban really improved 27 lbs to be rated 108 now. I have a squiggle and a question mark on that form.
Some of those still in the betting will not be running. Others don’t look up to it and I don’t think Queen Kindly will last home, she looked a sprinter all the way to me last season.
Rhododendron looks poor value to me at about 9/4 and no run under her belt.
I am pretty confident Fair Eva will go close and having been 14/1 in March, she is 7/1 now.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

I have to agree about the favourite.
I am going with Intricately @ 20/1
I liked the look of Poets vanity too but have left her alone.
May 3, 2017 at 08:42 #1299243Sky & Fred’s now NRNB on both Guineas
May 3, 2017 at 22:51 #1299308All the money of late apparently for Winter, now into 8-1.
What’s the old saying, if you’ve got three horses for one race then you probably haven’t got one… or have I just made that up
