Aidan plans to run his three top Galileo fillies, Rhododendron, Promise To Be True and Hydrangea, they alone would make for a quality and exciting race.

Rhododendron is odds on. She has already beaten Hydrangea, who is 7/1 here. Promise To Be True looks the only real opposition.
Collateral form tentatively suggests Rhododenron is a bit ahead of Promise To Be True for now.
I was looking forward to Fair Eva clashing with O’Brien’s best fillies here and the race is disappointing in that there is a lack of UK opposition.
I hope they do run all of Aidan’s fillies, I just have visions of some side-stepping this to leave a clear path for Rhododendron at very short odds.
I am hoping for Promise To Be True if she runs, she probably needs to progress by 7-10 lbs to win this but she has finished her races off well thus far and I was impressed enough to back her for the Oaks, with slight doubts about enough pace for a Guineas.
We will see how many hold their ground and how informative it ultimately is regarding the Guineas.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 8, 2016 at 11:53 #1262420Think Hydrangea worth a punt at those odds, no obvious reason why she should turn the form around but she’s as tough as old boots and was just behind the favourite last time. She’s a typical O’Brien late improver who didn’t show much in their first runs but is now blossoming.
September 8, 2016 at 15:08 #1262447Aidan tends to run his best fillies in the Moyglare, and he doesn’t mind running them against one another. I think all three will turn up (maybe even Brave Anna too, she was out for a racecourse gallop last time), and Hydrangea will make the others fight for it.
September 11, 2016 at 14:28 #1262992I’ve backed Promise To Be True for this at 16/1.
The vibes seem strong for today and I feel a good show today could even see her the new favourite for the race.
I feel her best will come at a mile this season and the 7F today could be the question but Rhododendron seems ominously weak out to 5/2 today.
Promise To Be True 1000 Guineas @ 16/1
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 11, 2016 at 18:48 #1263129Has to be said that this race was good for Fair Eva. Aidan seemed to throw his best 4 fillies at the race and none of them could win. The winner was brave but can you really see her winning a Guineas?
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"

I was disappointed with Promise To Be True today. I was a bit concerned that it wasn’t a mile, as she has looked at her best during the closing furlong of her races.
I don’t think she ran to her previous form today, far less come forward as she should have done on only her third start.
The fact is that Promise To Be True beat Intricately into 3rd last time and in pretty cosy fashion to boot.
There must have been a reason Ryan was on her today and the money also spoke in her favour.
The Racing Post gave Promise To Be True as running 6lbs below her last race and that has to be disappointing at a stage where she is bred to start thriving.
Had Fair Eva skipped the Lowther and won a couple of lengths today, she would have been as short as a carrot for the Guineas in Pole Position now but Roger and Co saw fit to take on speedballs at York instead

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 12, 2016 at 00:50 #1263164As commented on another thread, the gale force wind played havoc with the race today. Joseph volunteered in his post race interview that his filly was able to handle it, but others really struggled, Promise To Be True in particular. Andrew Macnamara commented before the race that the wind wasn’t fully head on and was also crossing the track, and that runners on the rail would be disadvantaged. Promise To Be True was on the rail and was badly buffeted about and Ryan was easy on her when her chance was gone. She’s a filly with a turn of foot and was never going to be able to quicken into the wind. Rynan didn’t knock her about and ruin her chances for another day. Hydrangea was also on the rail and did well to finish where she did.
September 12, 2016 at 00:53 #1263165Roly poly looks the filly at the moment to be my tip for the guineas. Genuine horse who keeps improving. Typical O’Brien improving filly.

Darren, certainly does. Dabyah looks the big danger to me, she’s very good as well i think. Quite surprised about PTBT’s price still for the Oaks though, she could be some filly next year.
October 7, 2016 at 18:20 #1266031Well botchy as i said in Epsom oaks thread my horse filly for Epsom is running at Newmarket tomorrow filly on about is
CORONET she 33/1 for oaksOctober 7, 2016 at 18:54 #1266044Well botchy as i said in Epsom oaks thread my horse filly for Epsom is running at Newmarket tomorrow filly on about is
CORONET she 33/1 for oaksLets hope she wins on Saturday as i put a sneaky fiver on @ 33’s after seeing your post.
October 8, 2016 at 01:07 #1266108Rhododendron and hydrangea gave the impression they would be even better over further. Promise to be true looks the value in the guineas market.
October 8, 2016 at 09:59 #1266149Really? I got the impression Rhododendron had loads of speed. Hydrangea is out of a very fast mare who never won beyond five furlongs so I’d be very doubtful about any oaks prospects.
Then again I keep getting ballydoyle fillies wrong so don’t listen to me.
October 8, 2016 at 12:35 #1266198It sounds daft but even after all I said about Godolphin, Wuheida stands out as a bet for next years race.
I just love the fact she’s got so much scope and potential to improve. If they can train her right she’s the one to beat next may. I also think she’s miles better than her stablemate Slowbetsu so I wouldn’t be concerned that the ballydoyle fillies thrashed her out of sight.
Obviously the winner yesterday was very impressive. The second Hydrangea is quite tough but to me she looks small and lacking scope- I think she could be a two year old.
