Ah so this is what the fuss was all about. I’ve just had a quick perusal and it’s handbags at ten paces stuff as far as I can gather.

Razeen was a complete and utter sociopath and an emotional cripple as far as I can remember. Didn’t he live in Bromley and spout on about how well he had done in life?

Anyways, just a fleeting visit to offer seasons greetings to one and all.

    Slippy.

I’ve met Conway a few times, he just preys on the weak minded staff in the High Street shops who lets face it, 98% of them don’t have a clue what day of the week it is let alone actually understand the dynamics of the betting industry.

Come back to chitty chat Gamble, you are missed and get a mention from the oldtimers every now and then. Cubone has had very bad health, you used to have a few tangles with him back in the day but I think he is still standing but hasn’t posted for ages :(

Sky is really well Gamble and now lives in Bedfordshire, he has just put his villa in Spain up for sale. That life was great for both of us but when the bubble burst it was time to move on.

All is good with me, I am happily settled back in London and ticking over nicely. It’s a bit strange popping back here as I don’t really know any of the names on here now. Having a quick read there are some I remember but not too many.

We had some absolutely madcap nights in the lounge years ago, you usually being in the middle of it all of course.

Anyway, I just thought I’d pay a quick visit to see if you were still about and to wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

    "Gamble, I don’t mean to be offensive in the slightest, and I’m sure someone has asked you this question before on TRF;

What the [expletive] are you on about?"

I have to say that did make me

Hola Gamble, I hope you are in good form.

Grimes, you have a good memory but it was my girlfriend not Northern Sky’s and Mervyn Day was the West Ham goalkeeper. She said to me when he jumped out of his red Ferrari "if he winks at me once more I’m gunna come in my pants"

Anyways, that aside I hope you are coping as best you can at the moment, you were always a fighter so be strong me old mucker.

"Walter, everything is a ******* travesty with you man."

    God bless

Grimes, I’m extremely sad to read of your wife passing away, it’s difficult to know really what to say to be honest with.

We used to speak often you and I years ago (I’m Slippy Blue by the way) and we always had a bit of banter going on if you rememeber those days, when Gamble of course was holding court!

Anyway, I hardly ever pop in here now but read your terrible news and just wanted to send my best wishes to you and your family. You were always one of the good guys on here.

Hello all, there used to be some riotous, madcap nights in the lounge in the good old days

Hope you are well and in good form Señor Gamble.

The odious, snot eating dinosaur should have been pensioned off ten years ago.

Just had a quick look at archives and I didn’t see the Zorro thread, I’m pretty sure I would have been on it at some stage. I remember the monocled buffoon that was Razeen well, he said he lived in one of the more salubrious parts of London and then let it slip he lived in Bromley
Chief Inspector Gamble had him down as Salty Jack but could never get the conclusive evidence to nail his man but he was always chief suspect. I would love to read some of those old threads that used to happen around those times, it would be a bit surreal no doubt but would be funny to see the lounge again as it used to be and the main protagonists in action.

The seafood bar at Sandown is a good place to plot up, used to be call Wheeler’s, pretty much opposite the winning line. That’s where I go anyway and would recommend it as a place to use as a base for a days racing there.

    Evening all,

Just a quick thread to ask "do we need so much arguing and negativity on this forum?"

You should have been on here 6 or 7 years ago, I don’t visit that often but have a read of a few threads every now and then, this is like a forum version of the teddy bears picnic to what it used to be. Mind you, having said that the place was very vibrant.

Interesting fact about the Duke of Edinburghs’ dog Camira Flash that some of you may not know. It was actually eliminated in the semi-finals in fourth position in the 1968 Derby only for there to be a non runner in the final and as he was quickest of the rest of the semi-finalists he got supplemented in the final and won totally unfancied at an s.p. of 100/8. It caused quite an uproar at the time and that was the last time it ever happened and a non runner in a final became a vacant trap from then on. Well, I thought it was interesting anyway :D

Completely talking through my pocket but that was not Richard Hills’ finest moment on Rumoush, found trouble everywhere although I accept Epsom does not suit all horses but that was not good to watch. Well done Ryan Moore and Snow Fairy obviously. Bah humbug :(
