I was swaying towards Davies
being very real – but of course
Mr Pilsen had the added advantage
of knowing he himself had not
created Davies. I did not have
this knowledge and viewed all
evidence with a certain suspicion.
That is why he was one ahead of us.
As a detective one has to feel

I bet she logged in hidden and voted for you, gamble.
She is predictably sitting in the
vest country with her adoring
pipe’n slippers man. She has her
own cubbyhole not that far away
like a lot of very insependent
women. She got a lot of stick on
here at one time, but got over it
after posting some adorable photos
of her part of the world she was
gone in a puff of smoke.
I would have been the only
recipient of her vote,
but who would return
to vote in a foreign land where
less than one percent of the
normals got up off their backside ?I referred to Jilly as Kathy
in boots. There were similarities.
Kathy unlike Jilly was a member
of the mostly male horse owning elite club.
She looked at the whole enterprise
with a woman’s purse. I will
not broach on any details
my lips are sealed, but sides
were taken. Her departure was

January 9, 2014 at 14:55 #464333Refreshing my memory of that old thread
I did a re-shoot of Wuthering Heights
with Kathy the Queen of Nark and Balance
entertaining three black ladies (in his dreams)
in his room after a long shoot. It all ended
with the banana song.
Slippy Blue, commenting on the thread,
was in the company of Kathy
and must have been at a meet
of the ol race owning club. The elite I
called them and it was drinks after a
race meeting. Yes there was a gathering and
I remember Slippy writing what a fine spectacle
Kathy was. It all seems like yesterday to me.
To go back even further I can see Ihaventalight’s
double arm bounce emoticon – a little green creature
with long arms :doublearmbounce: at the prospect
and anticipation of seeing Kathy on the thread
which of course was the infamous Jellied eels.
The man from Essex was not disappointed.I took over Pewters head for a time when he left.
Razeen changed his for a modern gent but it did not
work for him so back came the monacle. But this is war ladies and gentlemen
I will put on the kettle and consider
the three ewe turns…up next for appraisalJanuary 9, 2014 at 15:54 #464340Ricky’s three startling ewe turns.
1. Mr Ian Davies was confirmed by Ricky as Mr Ian Davies after his phone call. Then a retraction. the biggest U turn since Bush Senior said read my lips, according to Ian Davies
2. The bleak apology – soon regretted and forgotten. If only Ricky had left it there, but he wanted everything back as it was with a compliant and possibly grateful Mr P.
3. Stated he would avoid Mr P like the plague – but then stalked him on the pop in thread, and set up a Betfair radio channel in his honour. Two more radio staions were to follow with few listeners. The recent sheep thread based in Phuket is colourful and has some humour in it and will appeal to a general audience. Few people remember me on Betfair at least in chit chat, just Slippy Blue and Baby Jesus who must have changed his name. Rather disappointing considering the years I wrote in there.
Ricky demanded Mr P scarper from this site then for me to get my coat. He then wanted Mr P to come back to fight his corner. Is this another U turn I ask myself ?
I did mention that there was a shaft of light in the bleak thread. There will be some sort of resolution today, some sort of reckoning. I decided all this when I woke up this morning.
January 9, 2014 at 16:32 #464344GAMBLE WROTE:
most succinct comment of the night goes to Rickyis Diane Avis really back , and are you his clone , or is it the other way round ……

Most stupid comment of the night more like.
When Ricky stated the tone has definitely changed over the past few days, before writing his trans gender bait, he was referring to Mr Pilsen’s comments above. So it was not purely the weight reference but also this post that inflamed the Hippo. Mr P was not all sweetness and light, however his scathing was kept to normal levels whereas Ricky’s contained venom and would endure as long as the 100 years war. I feel he should shoulder the blame for undue escalation and of course the Ewe turns.

January 9, 2014 at 19:35 #464361REAL SOLUTION HERE TO HIPPO WAR
The Owl and the Pussycat set out to sea in a pea green boat with honey and "plenty of money" wrapped in a five pound note. The Owl serenades the Pussycat while gazing at the stars and strumming on a small guitar. He describes her as beautiful. The Pussycat responds by describing the Owl as an "elegant fowl" and compliments him on his singing. She urges they marry but they don’t have a ring. They sail away for a year and a day to a land where Bong trees grow and discover a pig with a ring in his nose in a wood. They buy the ring for a shilling and are married the next day by a turkey. They dine on mince and quince using a "runcible spoon", then dance hand-in-hand on the sand in the moonlight.
January 9, 2014 at 20:51 #464365As you once suggested Ricky
I will do your porridge for you
and keep away from the lounge
for a year and a day. Your
responsibility is to either join
me or put flame work into this
place to keep it going.I am jointly responsible in not
having addressed the issues when they
arose – I just plugged on with my
enquiry. I am a great believer
in timed bans. I will allow myself
the possibility of three posts
here if anything needs clearing up
but doubt that will be necessary. The war as far as I am concerned
has ended
And a happy New Year

Hi Ricky,
it is lucky for this site that some people still have terrific energy here to write. I have just read Robert99’s take on FOBT’S from his Gamcare and personal bookmaking experiences. Quite fascinating ! Horse racing topics are the engine of this site – well they do not have to be, but they are expected to be, and that is where a lot of the energy comes from – The old Pinza thread for example. My passion for horse racing has slowly eroded over time, and I have always been drawn to this little outpost, so here is where I mostly contribute. The Ian Davies expose and the black gateaux that followed it in the bleak thread, was a huge enterprise for me. It took me to Australia, Halifax, Phuket, Bora Bora, days investigating Heath Ledger and sociopathic tendencies. Quite a few interesting programmes I watched as a sidetrack, on topics covered in here. Yes very full time for months. Winning the comp was hardly expected but a nice cap to end all the work. I honestly would not have minded a jot if Mike had won, but suddenly I became quite competitive because I knew I would never have the energy again to win it.
I do feel drained from my absorption in this strange place and the year and a day breakaway, slightly enforced, was my promised payback, for all the months of idleness and stargazing away from the real world. I have a lot of responsibilities and have a huge workload in 2014 and cannot see myself completing all I have set myself to do. I am by nature lazy. I have a huge window with views that excite me here, or a if I travel quite contrasting views to take in. These backdrops often inspire me to write, so although my health has been questionable in very recent times, I feel blessed with a fairly comfortable existence. I still have to graft at times though, like most. My delicious krones have deserted my fridge for some time. I do drink one or two glasses of goodish wine, trying to sip slowly over an evening – but not every evening. I have got rather used to this but do have the occasional cold beer – who knows possibly tonight ?
As for your Betfair threads about me, they have been of high interest and educational, and I have enjoyed the so called criticism. It has made a nice change, and no need at all to take them down.
…. let Mr Pilsen come back
This is no easy matter. Mr Pilsen was indeed planning a break. He is a proud poster and has issues with the management. I do not think either of us could stage his comeback. He will come back, if he does at all, in his own good time. He may have settled into other routines. Writing on here takes huge time and energy and I think some realise this and for this reason drop away. There have been some good new additions and fine contributions. The old posters – some are ghosts – will always be missed. This is the nature of things.
My energy is not spent but I feel a need to re-direct it, and I feel somewhat ashamed of the time – enjoyable as most of it has been – idling in here over many months on very minor issues, that most would gloss over at best. I have to continually dissect things again and again

I will tear up my plan for a year away, but will in no way be constrained as to the timing of my return. I may make small odd contributions possibly, now and again, I really can not guess what I will do. Since Razeen left the place has gone a bit dim for me anyway, and my odd efforts to pretend he is back, and even the plastic on that blow up life replica I have of him, is getting a bit thin.
You must do as you feel Ricky. The lounge was always a backwater, and no real problem with that. Occasionally it overflows, but this is rare, usually it just idles at a snails pace – the sort of pace that I quite enjoy living life at
January 10, 2014 at 17:58 #464442just a few more thoughts..
The lounge even in older times
was never hugely busy. It has
always remained a backwater.
Sometimes a good thread can
re-vitalize it but when that
finishes it reverts back often
to just collecting dust.
Obviously Mr Pilsen’s often quite
late postings kept the place going
and people would then look in
more regularly. It is obviously
up to Mr Pilsen or anyone else
who wishes to put in daily effort.
Certainly he kept the lights on
for a good while.I do not think theses efforts
are done with a view to keeping
the lights on, rather just the
pleasure of giving or sharing
the odd thought.
Some of the threads can be a bit
wacky baccy and one would not
possibly find them anywhere else.Alternatively just to look in
and view the dust or go back
and take a sneak at an old thread
with the odd ghost can give a feeling
of adventure.January 14, 2014 at 19:42 #464933Ha ha ha ha ha ha
