Not every mile race at the Curragh is run on the straight track, there are a few run on the round track such as the Beresford Stakes, the listed/group 3 race on Derby Day (won by Famous Name last year) and a few others.
This race is run on the straight track every year.
Summit Meeting looks well over-priced at the current 9/2. You could make a pretty strong case that both his hurdling form and bumper for is as good as anything on offer. He put up an excellent hurlding debut when beating experienced rivals first time of asking and there was a lot to like about the way he put distance between himself and second from the back of the last. He also won probably the hottest bumper run in Ireland this year at Punchestown.
Shinrock Paddy may have won a Cheltenham bumper but the form of it looks well below that usually required for the track while he’ll need to be leaving his hurdling debut well behind.
Wouldn’t be convinced with Rhyl Accord either, especially at odds-on. He beat an ungenuine 102-rated mare on his hurdles run and there’s nothing to say he’s any star yet.
Carvills, the decision on Imperial Commander running in the Lexus hasn’t been made yet. The trainer is apparently mad keen to go to Kempton but the owners are in two minds.
I would say the Irish Horse Racing Authorities could not care less whether we have an antepost bet on the race or not.
I think Jim Bolger wouldnt send this filly out again in a Group race so soon unless he thought she had a pretty good chance.
That’s a massive leap of faith IMO. Bolger has continually over-raced his top-class fillies (Finsceal Beo and Alexander Goldrun) and Cuis Ghaire look over-the-top to me; in fact, she looked over the top behind Rip Van Winkle at Leopardstown and this will be her second start since.
Again looks solid here. Won the key trial in impressive fashion, proven at the track, handles any ground and has a turn-of-foot. 9/4 may not be the worst price in the world. You’d have to respect Shimah but I don’t like the fact she’s been off since June and she’s not bred to appreciate this extra furlong. Weld’s decision to enter Luminous Eyes in the 6f race on the same card is one of the stranger bits of placing I’ve seen this year – she is surely a better contender than stablemate Rare Ransom who is held by Again.
She’s not entered in the Noblesse on Sunday. Taken out at the 5-days today.
Has anyone been able to get this in Ireland?

Beautiful Sound/Agus A VicWell done there marb. A win at last for the perennial bridesmaid Ponmeoath.
I’ll row in with Ballycullen Boy too. Course winner and looks well up to upholding form with Emotional Article from their Limerick run earlier. Taaffe has been enduring a nightmare summer with just 3 of his 48 runners winning and his stable has been noticeably quiet of late. As a backer of Emotional Article at Tralee I think he may have missed the boat and that was his big chance of winning a valuable pot at a track he likes. Ballyagran needs to be fresh and I’m not sure he’s been off for long enough and also has stamina to prove.
I can’t comment on the acttual race but Teffia Native’s previous runs suggest she’s less than genuine. She planted herself at the start at Kilbeggan behind Uncle Junior at Kilbeggan in June and tossed her rider at Fairyhouse in a race won by I Don’t Know before being withdrawn.
Ossmoses anyone?
Agree regarding Numbersixvalverde, his trainer is sure to have him ready for this and trained to the minute. Not so sure about Hedgehunter, especially with the doubts over his health at the minute and top-weight makes it difficult for any horse here.
Why do you classify Dun Doire and Nil Desperandum as duds?
Surely Hawk Wing’s dismal performance in the Queen Anne after his Lockinge romp must rank up there?
