Elegant Escape will get a huge boost to his chances after the ballymore.

If New Sensation beats Samcro in the BALLYMORE then that will be 2 winners from 2 on the day for the sire Dubai Destination.

The emergence of Dubai Destination as a top NH site in 2018 with his two highest ever rated offspring.

ELegant Escape is already far superior to KAUTO Star in his novice chasing season.
KAUTO Star won a class 3 novice chase then came 2nd in a 3 runner race with 2 finishers losing to Mistral de Cour.
KAUTO star then fell on his first trip to the festival. EE has already bettered that having finished 7th of 15 at 100/1 over hurdles last season on his first cheltenham outing.

The RSA is merely the first step to legendary status for this all time great chaser.

Tizzard has emmerged as one of the uks greatest trainers of chasers over the last few years and has trained 2 of the last 3 king George winners.
Many believe he would have trained the gold cup winner had cue card not have fell.
Numerous grade 1 chase wins over last 5 years.

Now the special one Elegant Escape has arrived and this horse will spearhead the surge that propels Colin Tizzard to be regarded as the finest trainer of a chaser in both the UK and Ireland over the next 4 years.

Ireland has no answer to this horse.

If SAMCRO had of gone novice chasing instead of hurdling this season and lined up here then EE would have a serious rival in this race but as it stands he has just Black Corton and ballyoptic to beat.

The Irish challenge is weak and is spearheaded by a national horse and a horse who’s trainer believes he should be running in the JLT.
Dounikos and BonBon Au Miel look irelands best hope of a big run and one of them could end up with 2nd or 3rd here. But most likely GB will at the very least have 2 of the top 3 here and of course the winner in EE.

The great Elegant Escape will match Arkle and win the RSA aged 6. It will be his first of many gold cups next year and then the great gold cup duels of Samcro v Elegant Escape in 2020 and 2021.

This is the best chaser of the century.

The horse obviously isn’t anywhere near that level as a novice though will develop into a gold cup winner next season.

The horse is however primed and ready and has had the perfect seasonal preperation for the big day in the RSA. Incredible natural jumper of a fence and has been given experience of the fences at Chepstow, Newbury, kempton and Exeter twice.
Able to jump at speed and high cruising speed but most importantly of all has the heart of a lion and is an out and out fighter.

    The superstar of CHELTENHAM 2018

BETTER THAN BOTH KAUTO STAR and ARKLE (in time).

DOes anybody think there is any significance that paddy power are markedly shorter than all other bookmakers on Al Boum Photo for the JLT?

I was of the opinion that Al Boum Photo would be running in the RSA but looking at PP pricing they seem to think he goes JLT.

    Ginger Tipster you said this:

“Be amazed if Elegant Escape goes for this, sound jumping and staying/one paced qualities make him an ideal NH Chase candidate.”

Ham you have already had a loser on this race in Willoughby Court who won’t run. But now Monalee is the new incredible horse who can’t be ebeaten.

So Ginger my Elegant Escape has already amazed you once and will amaze you once again next Wednesday en route to the 2019 gold cup.

Ham may I remind you that I am as yet to lose on this race. You already have with Willoughby Court. Best of luck with your second selection. The now apparently unbeatable Monalee.

I find certain people on this thread to be coming across very poorly.

It seems to be perceived by some here that if you don’t fancy Monalee for this race then you are not worthy of posting here.

A lesson will be learnt on the day for many I think.

“Oh I see, Monalee won’t win because he’s too good and others have a better chance because they haven’t got as good form. LOL”

No Monalee won’t win because he isn’t good enough, may fall or make mistakes and has already peaked.
This is a novice chase, the winner will be the horse who peaks in March not the horse who peaked in February.
Also the fact that the man who knows this horse better than anyone thinks he should run in the JLT. He is only running here because his owner has a large bet on him at good odds. This is a very bad reason for running a horse in a race and it’s one the owner will surely regret. If In fact they do turn up here, with the trainer knowing that the JLT is his best chance he could still talk the owners round and go that route. After all what’s better a large losing bet or the prestige of owning the JLT winner, winning lots of cash for coming 1st (not that I think he would win either). Sense may still yet prevail.
This horse has only ever won on soft and heavy ground, most likely won’t get that here but even if he did he still wouldn’t win this.
Was able to dictate the race from the front in a slowly run race last time where 7 lengths seperated the first 7 home, not a chance he can do that here.
The form of the floggas must be taken with a pinch of salt.
Did win a beginners chase at punchestown though his main market rival (Invitation Only 2/1) fell at the 3rd fence. The horse who finished 2nd remains a maiden after 4 chase runs this season. The 3rd did win a 4 runner down royal beginners chase though lost in 5 of his 6 other chase starts. The 4th remains a maiden after 4 chase starts. The 5th remains a maiden after 4 chase starts.

Fell in his only other race.

Is it possible that Monalee isn’t as good as you seem to think he is and Elegant Escape is much much better than you realise.

Elegant Escape has nothing to fear from this horse if in fact he even turns up :rose:

“Hanakham unseated in a 2-runner race 2 starts before the RSA, Hussard Colognes fell 2 starts before the RSA… so they weren’t that foot perfect after all.”

Good call I missed Hussard Collognes when I was looking back. Though this was possibly the most fortunate winner of all time. With an OR of just 129 going into the RSA. Incredibly Only 5 of the 18 runners finished the race Unsurprisingly this horse had 15 more races and never won again.

Ref Hanakhan an unseating isn’t a fall. It’s a jockey falling off the horse not a horse falling.

AHa so that explains today’s shortening of the odds I hadn’t realised they had officially stated he was 100% going to the RSA today.

Was NEVER going to go to the 4miler. That would have been insanity to run a future gold cup winner in that race.

Who could have imagined that a 1st and 2nd in a maiden pnt to pnt at monkstown in April 2016 would provide us with the first two winners of the day on ladies day at the Cheltenham festival.

That monkstown race could quite easily have been where racings rivalry of the century started.

    They met at monkstown
23 months later they met again and were both in the winners enclosure at the 2018 festival
12 months later EE wins the gold cup and SAMCRO wins the RSA
In 2020 and 2021 they fight out the gold cup

    SAMCRO v ELEGANT ESCAPE

Could be a bigger rivalry than KAUTO v DENMAN

This EE could easily develop into one of the all time greats. Even the name sounds correct for a horse who may reach legendary status.

Stay tuned boys. Keep watching :bye:

EE as short as 8/1 now and no bigger than 12/1.

This is quite possibly the 2019
Gold cup winner. This is some horse I can assure you of that.

“If your analysing or’s you should be taking into consideration that nothing in the kauto star was able to improve past 155 and the winner has been unable to improve on 155 for three consecutive races, that must concern you as to what rate the english runners are progressing ?”

It doesn’t concern me in the slightest.
Elegant Escapes rating was never going to fly up following an effortless win in a 4 runner prep race, it was just a warm up for this.

Black Corton is unlikely to improve again though that said it was unlikely he would improve to get to this level so you never know, though EE has this horse completely covered.

One things for certain Elegant Escape has lots of improvement to come and will without any doubt put up a career best performance in this race.

EE will be a very tough horse to beat in this. This will become more apparent to you as we get closer to the race.

It’s not a pointless stat at all.

None of the runners in this race will have had there jumping put under such pressure before as they will face in this race.

Therefor if a novice has fell recently in a much easier race where they were under much less pressure then the speed, crowd and competitiveness of this race will find out any jumping flaws they have. One mistake in this race and you are in trouble and on the back foot.

And I can assure you this is what battle hardened mean s in the context of this race.

Only one horse in the last 25 years+ has fell in one of there last 3 runs before winning this.

    Cross off
    Monalee 😉
    Al Boum Photo

Might BIte was the exception. Will it be a case of London buses or business as usual this year?

The horse with the highest OR rarely wins this race. Which is hardly surprising as the runners are generally all improving horses.

By battle hardened in the context of this race they mean a horse who has had 3+ runs over fences as opposed to the runners who have had 1-2 runs.

De Bromhead wants and thinks Monalee should run in the JLT. Apparently it’s the owners who are pushing that he runs in the RSA.

Silly owners. The trainer knows the horse best.

OUR PREFERENCE IS THE RSA- WE PREFER THE RSA THOUGH WE REALLY REALLY LIKE THE JLT AND WE WILL PREFER THAT ONE ONCE I GET MY BET MATCHED AT THE RIGHT PRICE

Seriously if that is De Bromhrad confirming that Monalee runs in the RSA then I would love to see how he worded it when sitting on the fence.

He has confirmed nothing at all in that interview.
