Think we used to be able to see the Irish Coverage via Tara TV but that appeared to go by the wayside at some stage and I don’t understand why we can’t access RTE when there’s channels there from just about every other country…
Story hasn’t even broke on the Sporting Life website yet

Clearly something wrong with the horse though when the admirable but not in the same league Mahogany Blaze finishes in front of him

I think he’ll have to really battle tomorrow but the Peterborough is too close to the KG nowadays (Dec 10) so this is the only option really.
And he did win this race by 17L in a common canter in 2006 so he ain’t too shabby round there…
Maybe he is an out and out 2 miler but I’m more of the opinion that there were other factors involved when Master Minded was beaten over 2m4f at Aintree rather than him being a non stayer.
Can a horse as good as him that canters up in 2 milers at Sandown & Cheltenham really stop as if shot after 2m2f at an easy track like Aintree?
I think he was probably OTT after that supreme performance at Cheltenham and the mistake he made at that notorious fence up the straight at Aintree (3rd last?) may have winded him as well.
Sadly it’ll never happen because connections take the view of ‘whats the point of getting one of them beat needlessly’.
However I wonder if their heads would be turned if a rich man/bookie came forward with say a 500k offer for a winner takes all match at Sandown next April on the final day of the season over say 2m3f…
Not likely in the current financial climate but can you imagine the hype!
Shame and obviously the main thing is that’s she going to be ok but I really hope that this doesn’t undo a lot of the hard work that she’s done in rising through the ranks.
Racing also needs faces/personalities like her and it will be particularly frustrating for her as she probably feels as though she could ride in a race tomorrow but you’ve got to play it safe with head injuries.
I can see her popping up on C4 Racing during the summer

Excellent Cav, 17% seems decent and probably is but is it when you’re talking about class horses, the majority of whom will have gone off favourite at Aintree for the follow up?
More than a few have followed up over the years but last year was a bad one with only Our Vic & Tidal Bay doing so.
Am I right in thinking that less are taking in both this year? I can only think of Wichita Lineman from the opening days winners and possibly none from day 2 (Tricky Trickster?).
Same happened to Black Jack Ketchum for no apparent reason, if only they could talk as they say.
Maybe it was trying to go with Kauto in the Betfair Chase when not fully wound up that did for this fella

Black Bear Island
Rainbow View
FantasiaWouldn’t consider it myself but each to their own as you said and it doesn’t neccessarily have to include anything sleazy, could be as innocent as a day at the races, trip to the theatre, a business meet etc…
I remember seeing a Mark Johnston 2yo filly called Screen Star hack up in a Redcar maiden and even though it was only Redcar, it was that impressive that it popped up straight away in ante-post lists for the following year’s Oaks.
Then it joins Godolphin and we never see it again, very disappointing. Bull Run was another.
I think Master Minded is an absolute machine and I’m a big fan but was he really that good at Sandown? Yes he won in a canter and I enjoyed it immensely but a horse like Twist Magic looked like he was going to give him half a race turning in before falling. The Victor Chandler race was his most impressive this season I thought.
Ever since his awesome win in the 2008 Champion Chase I’ve been confident that he’s better than the great Moscow Flyer ever was but that rather workmanlike performance the other week has just made me hesitate a little.
I wasnt around to see Arkle but I’ve got the video and yes he was that good. I also remember C4 doing a feature on him with David Nicholson after Baracouda carried top weight at Sandown one day and they showed that incredible Sandown performance when he just ran away from Mill House – awesome!
No Aristo – Down intimated that John Hales was far from happy with the tactics used on NC because Kauto Star was in the comfort zone all the way.
I read on another forum that there was a small altercation in the winners enclosure resulting in PN walking away from the Hales team shaking his head.
Commiserations to connections, I know John Hales has been very lucky to have so many good horses but still, he’s had an awful lot of bad luck with them

Awful news as he had loads of potential and looked like he could be anything when he cantered up in the Irish Arkle last season

As people have said, take away the winner and Denman would have hacked in and he’d probably be odds on for the Gold Cup!
But Madison was there and fair enough if the big horse had got tired at the end and finished 2nd but the warning signs were there right from the off and that’s worrying.
Hopefully a lot of it was down to going right-handed (he certainly didn’t look like a superstar when he beat Penzance at Exeter) but the look on Paul Nicholls’ face said a lot.
However I don’t agree with the people that are saying everything is flat now on the Gold Cup front. I’ll certainly be buzzing with anticipation at 3pm on Mar 13 thinking ‘can Kauto regain the crown/is Denman the same horse/what about M de B, Neptune Collonges’ etc etc…
