If Lucky Nellerie can get a run then she may run a huge race as she was in with a very good chance in last years Borders National at Kelso until getting rid of the rider 4 out and she has still got a lot of improvement left in her

If anyone has been to Leigh in North west England which is about 3 miles from where i am based then they will see that it is not great

I wonder if the BBC will show the feature race on the opening day if it attracts a decent quality field as they could show it as part of their Grand National coverage.

It will be interesting to see the feedback though but i can see a lot of Newmarket trainers using it possibly to introduce 2yo and it could also be used to hold Dubai trials in January for the carnival.

Aslong as NH racing does not suffer for it personally i do not think it will as the NH community is always strong and will stick together no matter what

True, At Aintree home of people such as Jennifer Ellison and Danielle Lloyd will probably be so jealous of a racecourse which has produced "famous" people such as Jodie Marsh

I am tempted to visit it to see what its like but will probably do the Saturday meeting in September on St Leger day.

The only horrifying thought will be if it holds a ladies day it will be full of Essex girls (something to look forward to)

I can understand Iain Mackenzie doing Fakenham as i have never heard him do a flat commentary apart from bumpers at jump meetings but to me Dave Smith rarely does jump meetings apart from the odd one at Plumpton,Lingfield,Fakenham and Folkestone alothough i was at Uttoxeter once when he was calling them.

To be fair the british sprinters are not really the best in the world so a Group 2 or 3 rates Aussie horses could easily take our big sprints as most of our 3yo sprinters are horses who basically ones who dont stay 1m in the 2000 Guinneas.

Cross fences for me are at Aintree on the Mildmay course,Newbury on the run from the back to the home straight,Wincanton for the same reason also Sedgefield has one.

If Thommo is to do a Cheltenham commentary then perhaps it is the 3 day April meeting at which he could be used.

For the festival it will be i imagine Simon Holt for C4, Richard Hoiles,Mark Johnson and Mike Cattermole for the course and betting shops and John Hunt for 5 Live.

I have nothing against Thommo as he can make a really poor days racing at Southwell sound exciting and his Fakenham commentaries are always lively and he sounds enthusiastic and is much more a commentator suited to a fun crowd who need jollying up.

Personally im surprized that Stewart Machin has not been given a day to do at the festival as he does big field races quite well.

I think Mr Pointment was probably watching Ascot and Wincanton cheering his stable mates on then probably had a read of an A-Z to find out how far it is to Doncaster for his next prep run

Now here’s a proposition – Sir Clement Freud, Stuart Hall, Stephen Fry and Gamble all as guests at the same dinner table. I don’t think I’d stop beaming all night!

Not sure about Stuart Hall but maybe Sir Mark Prescott or Ginger McCain would be interesting dinner table guests

To be fair the main reason Bewleys Berry did not win is because he simply is not good enough.

I think that today the 2008 Grand National winner was probably sound asleep in his stable somewhere in Ireland then watched the races and thought "Should beat this lot easy enough……..now then time for another snooze before my trainer get me ready"

Just got in from Haydock and was very dissapointed in the run of Wichita Lineman he just seems to have lost the plot like BJK.

I think a change of stable is needed with him to freshen him up or even take him out for a days hunting as he seems to be a different horse.

Accordello ran well to get some black type and may get a small race somewhere

I think that Racing Demon might just get his day to show his true talent as he hates Cheltenham and does not stay 3m.

Monets Garden will have this and the Meilling as his two big targets but as has been pointed out he will be level with Kauto Star as opposed to Aintree in October which was the only chance they would ever get of beating Kauto Star.

As much as a class horse Kauto Star is i would not be shocked if he was to be beaten tomorrow

Chief Dan George is slowly coming to hand and likes to come from off the pace which he did with Wichita Lineman last year at Aintree and Haydock should suit him plus he stayed on ok in the Cleeve last yeat on a track which did not suit him at all well

Dont see why he cant get paid out.

The white copy will have his handwriting on and he could always report them to the gambling commision or bookmakers asscociation.

I quite like Mark Johnson as a commentator as he is very passionate with his calls compared to GG who at times sounds like he is bored out of his mind when doing a call.

I know the USA inserts can be annoying after all i have yet to hear an american caller say the phrase "They’re off……….Ok here we go then"
