Hopefully the card at Haydock goes ahead. I had a 13 quid bet on Wymott at 7/2. His mark is 144 and therefore a 4 pound drop for running a pleasing race for his trainer in the Hennessey, on ground that didn’t suit. If it goes ahead tomorrow, the race will be run at a more appropriate pace for him, and on a more suitable going. He has course form over hurdles, and i’m fairly hopefull. I just hope they aren’t looking to preserve his mark for the Welsh national.

Back to business, just had a word with TAPK and he agrees that

    Medermit

has Ryanair written all over him,he says he’s just taken the 100’s about the Gold Cup too on the machine for a couple of quid.Having watched the replay of Saturdays race from several angles i do believe Medermit was an unlucky loser and if the field for this seasons Ryanair turned up now i would imagine 8/1 would be offered about his chances,he stayed on very well as did ‘Imperial Commander’ before winning both The Ryanair and Gold Cup,this fellow could easily be a Gold Cup horse too! 2013 hopefully.

    Medermit

    £100 e/w 20/1 Betfred, Ryanair,Cheltenham.

Wasn’t ‘Oh So Sharp’ supposed to type this ?

Nicholls likes to cover all angles mate. He says it will stay, then says we want to see if it will say. Therefore, whatever the outcome he will say he was right. Many racing fans want to find fault with Long Run, but i think he will win. He has a poweful kick on landing which will come in handy for the final 3 fences once they turn the corner for home. I’d like to see 2/1 though. Kauto has been better at jumping since losing the nose band.

If i was a jockey i’d spin any old yarn as well. It was an honest mistake. He obviously wanted to avoid a ban that would rule him out of the King George. Long Run is important to him, as is the race itself. The thought of missing a King george because of a human error in a grade 5/6 race at Fakenham makes it very understandable why he would tell a wee porky pie. Fair enough ?

One of these days you’re going to come across something like that old Bo Selecta face woman in Shameless. She will swing you about like a freaking tennis raquet. Your old BHS shirt will be losely trapped on the blinds, and your y-fronts hanging from her ‘made in China’ lamp. After she eats the fruit you thought was safely stuffed down your breeks, she will roar like a lion and have you walking with a limp for days on end. Upon your leaving her crumby old tenement house, you hobble around towards the direction of ladbrokes with your ‘hard’ earned £100, which you then predicatably place on another losing bet. As you make your exit from the bookies, you then devise a plan in your mind to quickly go home and tell people on here how you pumped a 21 year old Russian and won a big In play race with a 100 free bet you forgot you had. As you turn the corner towards your house whilst you kick a crushed Pepsi can, a certain D-reg Ford escort with tinted windows and a ‘i love the News of the World’ sticker on the back outside window pulls slowly alongside you, and old Bo selecta bitch and her old slaggy mates with perms, fake leopard skin clothes, vodka breaths and cheap make up shout sexist remarks at you amongst other snide comments, before blowing kisses and speeding off into the distance whilst ‘wild thing’ by the troggs blares from their car stereo. The wee old fat one in the back with all the gold chains and sovereign rings gives you the middle finger and growls at you, so you then walk towards your front gate and say to yourself "that Russian just waved at me, i better not tell Hayley".

Cheers Skelly. Balotelli scored first, but it’s all one. These smaller bets keep me going until the festival. I got all the presents and all that tosh out of the way. Do you do ante posts yourself, or do you wait until after the declarations ?…the King george could get more interesting if Long Run ever reaches 2/1. I actually watched oddschecker earlier. Once kauto was declared, Long Run shortened. How in the devils name can a horse get shorter because his closest challenger was declared ?

I thought it was funny. He must have thought the handicapper was a mug turning in for ‘the finish’.

The crusade must continue. Cheltenham is the promised land. Having lost poor old Kempes, i lost my last 15 quid for a couple of weeks, or so i thought. After a small bit of improvisation this morning, i spent less on a couple of presents in order for me to have another crack at the whip. Why buy people the latest edition of a music artists work for £6.99 when you can get their greatest hits for £2.99, know what am sayin  ? …i’ve put a tenner on Joleon Lescott to score first against Chelsea at 40/1. Sometimes i just get that feeling.

    Hi all

In what I think is even more than a transitional year than last year does anyone know the current status of Burton Port after his injury?

Thought I read somewhere come back run scheduled for earky Feb? Can anyone confirm. SJ stand out 50/1 so had a small investment each way in a year where currently nothing stands out to me outside of Long run who I thik is a fair though not outstanding price at 11/4

    yorkiedips

Hemmings’ racing manager, Mick Meagher, said: "There’s no race in mind for his comeback, he’s just back in training.

"It’ll be the new year before he runs, probably even February."

I also read in another article somewhere that he could be aimed at the national.

I had 15 quid, so used it to backed Kempes at 7/1 for the John Durkan chase. I’ve no doubt every man and his dog will bash Rubi Light in to something like 6/4. It would appear that Barry Gerrahty has chosen Tranquil Sea over Joncol. I just think that kempes is capable of making it uncomfortable for the shorter priced horses if he jumps well, and therefore his price to me is fair. I’d just hope that he’s in the shake up. It might even take a bit of luck like that Barcelona goal that just zipped in.

I sort of had a few bets today without giving it too much thought, so i’m trying to figure out what i’ve done in a cloudy haze sort of way. I managed to instinctively get 40 quid on Quito De La Roque for the Lexus chase at 9/4, after Denman was retired. I then had a festival tenner double on the same horse and Oscar Whisky(WH) at a big price obviously. What else..erm…i backed Magnanimity at 58/1 for a tenner for the Gold Cup, and a fiver at 12/1 for the Lexus. I’m not overly pleased with those bets. I’m thinking that the Lexus will cut up, and that the winner will take a nose dive for the festival in March. If either of those two win the Lexus i’ve got my total outlay returned or doubled(preferably), with a free festival ante post. 4 of the front 6 in the betting for the Lexus run this weekend, so i can’t see all of them turning up on the 28th. There’s also question marks over some of them getting the trip, so maybe there’s an opportunity somewhere in there for anyone who likes backing outsiders. Roll on the Lexus. I’ve not had a bet on an Irish race this season.

Ghastly. Absolutely ghastly. Solitary confinement for that woman isn’t good enough.

Cheers Zarkava. I actually read that article before. It still doesn’t really touch on why his debut over chases is delayed. If he has a light introduction, that would maybe give him one competetive race before the rsa ?…given that the owner has a few potential candidates, i just wonder if he might not make the festival. Also i think i read from past quotes that they prefer softer ground at an early stage.
