    FistofFury,

You must have been a great loss to the Diplomatic Service.

Only joking…..you carry on saying it as you see it…it makes for interesting reading. At least you’ll never get splinters up your butt for sitting on the fence.

    regards,

I suppose experience will tell us to avoid such races, or even
take advantage of the high percentage of favourable results for the departing/comeback personality.

However, if there was a proved perfidious presence, then it should be treated the same as any other case. Because to condone it, even with the relevance of the race, would be extremely hypocritical.

I didn`t see the race so I cannot make my own judgement. Some on this thread seem to think there was no misdeamour and others do so. I would like to think that the ones that think something was amiss wouldn`t condone it, because then don`t moan about similar circumstances in other races.

Lastly, good luck to Mr Dobbin after a fruitful career, and managing to bow out in a physical well state from a highly dangerous game.

    Sean Rus,

The next thing you’ll be telling me is that those 2 horses in between Channel 4’s coverage are actually actors….get away with you!!!

It would appear that some of my fellow forumites are suffering Doctor Dolittle delusions.

    Kind regards,

    Pushme-pullyu

Doctor Dolittle is fiction. Suggest you read this and follow the research references.

    Never!!

Grimes how about those horses who pass the winning post more than once in a race? If they really knew what the winning post was they’d quicken themselves up upon sight of it would they not? Or are you trying to tell us horses can count the number of circuits as well? :)

    Flash,

They also do quadratic equations in their spare time.

Also, my missus who was brought up in a rural area, says that there is a pecking order of intelligence in the animal world. Horses, in her humble? opinion are up there man…although she has got me behind a sheep. Now, being a good old Welsh boy, I ain`t complaining.

The Sun newspaper today had a photo of Jockey Kirsty Milczarek posing in her underwear.

    Please scan it in.

    GingerTipster,

Congratuations on your effort in supplying us with this.In other threads you have been asked to show your hand and you have indeed declared same with one of the more difficult events to do so.

However, isn’t there alwaysa however, I can’t see how you can visualise horse A winning one in 801 runnings and Horse B winning once in 1001 runnings, I don’t know how you can do that. I’m not being negative, just actually intrigued by your powers.

    .

All of these negative points about Nevison and other professional gamblers could easily be aimed at AP yet when he comes on you all bow down to the great man, as you should.

But is it not a bit two faced?

I think it is more a matter of "if I don’t understand or are not capable, then I do not believe anyone is".

    Ginge

    Gingertipster,

I have read various threads involving AP, and there are members who do not agree with every word written by the author. So, your inference, that everyone is obsequious is incorrect.

I hope your tissues are more accurate.

It would appear that there are more than likely 2 camps on this forum, or possibly 3 as indicated by a Venn Diagram. i.e. those that select the most likely winner of the race without regard to the price and those that determine the chances of each contender and create their own tissue. The later then make the selection based on the value principle. However, as the young WelshWizard has alluded to, this is all well and good in the hypothetical world. How can anyone say in great honesty that their odds are an accurate reflection of the outcome. Yes, I know the argument that if you were to know that your selection was categorically a 3/1 chance and you could get 7/2, over a period of 100 or more selections you would almost certainly show a profiit. But there are too many imponderables to suggest that one could do this consistently. And then when we get down to whether you’ve priced one at 2/1 and it’s available at 85/40. well the margins are so miniscule does it matter?

However, I do like the anecdote about Phil Bull. He said his mother learnt him to count….1, 5/4, 6/4, 7/4., 2……..etc. Or, in your case Ginge 50%, 44%, 40%, 36%, 33.33% etc.

llanrumneyboy I only wear the cap at work. I have a trendy new hairdo so I thought I’d show it off lol.

Anyway the cap is a West Bromwich Albion one, if we lose to Pompey in the semi on Saturday its going in the bin.

    Flash,

Sorry to tell you young man that even if the Baggies get to the final, you will be walloped by the Bluebirds, and the cup will again leave England.

From memory, as I read his book a while ago, I do believe he refers to a colleague who seems to do the mathematics for his plethora of bets. In fact he sounds like the brains of the operation.

Flash, where’s your cap. I assume it got blown off on that infamous Wednesday of Cheltenham week? That’s of course if you were brave enough to go out!!

Richard Hills if the horse is a front runner, and not Richard Hills if the animal needs covering up. Also, Phillip Robinson, especially the way in which he handled the enigmatic but occasionally brilliant Ratzi.

Without fear of contradiction AP McCoy for NH in my humble opinion

    But overall, probably Fred Archer.
