Trainer not in form Ian, they’ve completley reversed the guineas form.

That may be the reason mate. I was a little disappointed with Spacious nonetheless, expected a better effort than that.

Well I didn’t expect Dettori to make the running on Nahoodh, that surprised me but I got it right with Lush Lashes :), given a good ride as there was enough pace early on .

Infallible has run a cracker after drifting like a barge, doesn’t quite get home for me will be better when dropped in trip. Spacious found little, maybe needs ten furlongs? Looked short of speed.

I hold my hand up, i’ve wondered whether Frankie still has it, but it’s rides like that that make me reconsider my position. He might have stole it Ian, but it’s still better getting a winner like that than having another horse that travels well but finds nothing like some of the godolphin horses have lately. I’m looking forward to Frankies oher rides of the day and if Nahoodh shows her Guineas for she has a good squeak. Also the godolphin horses in the handicaps look to have a good chance aswell.

    All the best godolphin!

ps, the bookies will of course take a bit of a hammering if frankie rides anymore winners, and I love it when they feel pain.

Its a horse like Nahoodh that I’d worry about Frankie on. He won’t be dictating the pace on this filly and I’m never a fan of Dettori on a hold up horse and I expect the filly to be held up.

This is a race (Coronation) that could be won by jockeyship IMO. With Spencer on Spacious possibly coming through horses and Fortune (not my favourite jockey) possibly doing the same on Infallible it’s possible that Manning could steal this race on Lush Lashes if he rides her handily. The filly gets ten furlongs well so I wouldn’t be surprised if Manning makes the running if there’s no real pace on.

Best big race jockey there is.

    Ryan Moore take note

To be fair to Moore he asked for his horses effort coming in to the straight so the horse had three(?) furlongs to get up. Dettori rode a fine race dictating what looked like a slowish pace and then kicking for home off the bend. Off a quicker pace I’m pretty sure the second and fourth would finish in front of him but fair play to Frankie for pinching it today.

I’d like to see the sectionals but I agree with you that Frankie stole it. Hebridean and City Leader were held up early and they finished out the back, Campanologist made the running and won the race so it indicates strongly a steadily run race.

In light of that Conduit I think has run a mighty race coming from slightly off the pace. I thought that horse was a massive lay today up in class but he proved he belongs at this higher level.

Better than Johnny Murtagh / Mick Kinane? I’d have to disagree strongly.

Dettori has few peers race riding from the front but overall he’s nothing like as good as the media make out IMO.

Nice to see Godolphin have a winner like that. Competition is everything!

Lol. I don’t think Godolphin are any competition at all to Coolmore.

Frankie irritates me, goes over the top and both Channels (BBC and ATR) are all over him at the moment.

no one dissputing Big Mac’s right to voice his view Doyley it was the manner in which he did it….

Thats just the way he is. Everyone knows what they are likely to get from Big Mac surely you don’t expect him to change at his time of life?

He’s a character in a sport that needs them (IMO).

i love him myself (No not in that way  ) but it was Yeats moment and i think he spoiled it by his rant if he had waited a couple of mins more that is all!!!

    Fair enough.

Worry not though, Yeats’ win will go in the record books, Big Mac’s rant won’t.

A genuine great horse. It’ll be a long time before we see another stayer as good as him.

McCririck is entitled to his opinion.

I don’t agree with him on this one actually but he is well within his right to voice his opinion. Comments like "Any creditably he had left is surely out of the window" are out of order – why, for disagreeing with your view?. He is as entitled to his opinion as you are or anyone else is.

Fantastic race. Aidan O’Brien is a genius.

Please explain that – how? silly comment

Extremely silly comment. The way Aidan does it year in, year out always has his horses ready and every detail tactically is never left uncovered.

Just a run of the mill trainer.

He may have the ammunition but boy does he get the best out of them.

According to team O’Brien Duke Of Marmalade is the best horse in their stable – one day after Henrythenavigator was the best horse since Rock Of Gibraltar etc.

Pinch of salt springs to mind.

As I predicted the Duke and Phoenix Tower filled the first two places but it wasn’t as close as I thought it would be, Phoenix Tower possibly best at a mile???

The rest of the top horses – Sixties Icon, Ask are best over further. Not the strongest ten furlong Group 1 IMO. You could argue the only genuine Group 1 10f horse in the race won the race.

    I agree entirely.

The BBC as an institution is now a joke in itself, a left wing propaganda machine that has long since abandoned quality in favour of liberal political ideals.

Their coverage of racing once so appreciated is now absolutely abysmal.

The presenters are awful (largely), the content is awful and to be frank if there is an alternative it isn’t worthy of watching.

ATR isn’t great it’s coverage is somewhat limitted but then it doesn’t have the funding or the resources of the BBC – at least it concentrates on the racing.

With regards to James Sherwood I’d love him to approach me at Royal Ascot – the Beeb would then be broadcasting comments they hadn’t bargained for.

Duke Of Marmalade vs Phoenix Tower is a race I’m looking forward to.

The Duke sets the standard but Phoenix is lightly raced and not far behind on the very best of his progressive form. For the first time in ages he may well get blisteringly fast ground tomorrow and being by Chester House out of a Zafonic mare you would have to think he has a chance of improving on fast ground. Trip should be fine and looks like there should be a good pace on.

Could be a cracking battle between the two.

Henry is obviously very, very good. If he can do to the older horses whats he’s been doing to the three year olds then maybe I’ll accept that Henry is the best Aidan has ever trained. However until he does its a question that requires an answer. The older milers don’t seem exceptional by any means so I don’t think there’s anything to fear for Henry.

Zarkava is clearly in a class of her own amongst the three year old fillies. I think she’ll easily stay twelve furlongs but I do think she’ll come up short when she takes on either Peeping Fawn or the best of the colts.
