Love the old races you post up on you tube Espmadrid , end up scrolling through and an early night becomes a late night . Brilliant work .
A few people seem to do it , Vintage horse racing is good too .
Always look forward to your new uploads .

I have not looked at the horses form but id guess the other aspect of it with the OZ connections , and stables success down under the horse will get a decent rating if he comes down. Therefore better chance of making the cut into decent Saturday races and/or decent supporting Spring carnival races , or the many country cups at the time .
The Aussies seem to follow the European ratings pretty closely when an import arrives. A horse like Extra Elusive came in high off I think it was a Windsor group 3 , dropped kilos in 6 months .

I read Willie Mullins was talking about a go at the Melbourne Cup after last years Cheltenham win with Vauban .The Ebor is the set up race for a lot travelling down , Max Dynamite had similar profile .
The scans required now may have put him off that idea .

Not wrong about Charlie Chans Ian .

Hackney Dogs was rougher though .

Harringay was good , banger racing was good night out there but i think it was stopped after small bits of old Ford Cortinas kept getting found on the dog track making it pretty dangerous .

The Stow was at the time the whole destination package of course , Charlie Chans for a watered down drink and spin on the dance floor after the last if you had any cash left .

I think the top Kennels at the Stow in 80s were Mullins and Savva , memory is bit hazy on it .
Along with East 17 , what a group , The Stow features in Walthamstows other great contribution to music history with a few photos in the CD cover of Blurs Parklife.
The famous frontage is preserved .
Real Estate values i think done for London dog tracks , so many gone . Rye House held on a bit i think but is it just Romford now ? , Harlow London ish ,plenty of Mockneys there so London enough .

Had many many nights at The Stow as kid , and as an adult , always a good night but those days well gone for Greyhound racing , the atmosphere was great when Scurlogue Champ raçed there .The rivalry between Ballyregan Bob was superb .
I think it was the Chandlers who owned the place for years . Only bad memory there i have is when i smashed my head on the sea saw , had to hold hanky to head wound to stop the blood while my Dad watched 8.06 race , then off to hospital , still have the scar . Greyhound racing imho will be the first to go west .

Syndicator who races in Australia has really hit the mark finding the right Shadwell cast offs .
Targets maiden or 1 win horses at Tatts HIT. They have found some good ones from Shadwells French stables . Over half the 20 or so they have brought from Tatts last 6 or so years ex Shadwell . They send them to Chris Waller , he runs them through the grades , midweek City and provincials picking up money , into Saturday City and big money every race . Gets too hard in Sydney they go up to Queensland to cash in some more in easier races .
Alward almost got into Melbourne Cup few years back , Al Aabir ex Gosden yard maiden last season has now won 5 since August 2022 and about 150k in UK money . Out for a spell now and plenty more to come .
Even a horse like Sayl , they have onsold and is earning a bit up in Toowomba .

I cannot find it on googling but iam sure in 80s a QH either raced a TB at Epsom as a gimmick or it was on its own trying to break the land speed record . Iam sure I saw it as a bit on LWT news or BBC London .
    Stone of Folca ran 53.69
From what I can make out the QH record over 440 yards is 20.274 , the 1100 yard trip seems a rarity but at Sam Houston the record is 58.34 . Dirt v downhill grass I know .

Brondesbury was sent to stud in OZ , no champions I can find in his offspring but he produced a tough horse called Toybury , ran from 92 to 99 , 58 runs for 16 wins and 13 seconds . Mainly ran at provincials in Victoria and city class Adelaide . Won from 5 furlongs up , somehow they stretched him out to win at 10 furlongs at Morpheteville one day . Staying power from dams side is my gut feeling .

Ghost of Rob v , bang on the mark with Brondesbury , one of fastest horses ive seen , over 3 furlongs just burned the track . Saw him the other night when I was you tubing old Temple Stakes when it was at Sandown . The 1983 King George is a good one to re watch , he blazes a trail , then Soba goes on to win. Added bonus is the great Jimmy Lindley talking beforehand . Takes me right back hearing his voice .
I wonder how Brondesbury times over first 2 stack up with a US quarter horse .

Serpentine in the Q22 at Eagle Farm this weekend , drawn 4 should give him a chance to get the rails and lead without too much work . Decent prize and he is in good form , battles hard to line . Numarian and few other ex Euros in form and tough opponents .
Southern France in the Brisbane Cup over two miles but he is nowhere near the horse he was in 2018 2019 in Europe . Must be showing something at home because his form does not justify the fees at moment

I went to a couple of Friday night meetings about 6 years back when I was up there . Like Richard88 points out its the only place in Singapore you see litter , and strong smell of smoking permiates the air and clothes after . The Fridays had a decent crowd , the atmosphere was pretty good , night racing in the City is always good, though its not quite a night at the Valleys , the HK one, or Moonie . The crowd roared home the winners beamed in on the screens from Macau though .
Some good jockeys riding over the two nights , Alan Munro , Vlad Duric , Micheal Rodd and Greg Boss . Most horses Aus or NZ bred but a few Euro breds , and the odd South American and South African .
The plus points , a clean , cheap , safe train right to door , cheap entry , the coffee stall no option but sweet , strong , like tar becomes addictive and quite nice if you want to stay awake for a week . The divis to 5 buck stake gets bit of getting used to and value on punt poor , take out from Tote must be high .The very large rodent appearing out the bushes near to winning enclosure after the last was different and made me shift , god knows what it was .
The movement of horses out in next 18 months , 700 to be exported . Having known a bloke who syndicated horses up there , I have doubts the 700 moving out . Some will just transfer to Malaysian stables , a few decent ones will go OZ or NZ . Cliff Brown when he moved to OZ took a few who have done ok , The Inferno and Ex Ballydoyle Threefourpence who was 4th in Dewhurst and Irish Guineas before moving to Singapore have gone decent in OZ . A few might go Indonesia or some other backwater . Overall the quality of horse in Singapore is average , most wouldnt win off mimimum in lowest class in HK so i would say none will go there .Why use HK owners permit for one out of Singapore .
The demise of Singapore been coming last few years
The track itself is amazing , it poured down one night pre meeting , from train the drainage canals were flowing , I thought no way its going ahead , but the strathayr track drained a treat .
